4 nights were fun and relaxing. Resort is great. Love the proximity to the pool and beach. Day and evening music performances were very entertaining. Will come back.

This was our second stay at Shephard’s. The resort is very nice. What I don’t care for is their cancellation policy. They require 72 hour notice. My flight was canceled and it didn’t look promising to book for the following day. My reservation was for 3 days only. I didn’t mind losing a day since that has been pretty standard in my experience and they likely wouldn’t be able to rent the room on such short notice. I admit, I should have researched this prior to booking. I got lucky and was able to get a flight the next day, so I was only out $300 for one night and learned a very good lesson on reading the fine print prior to booking future stays.

Good atmosphere

Loved the pool area, beach balls, beach area, and customer service at the front desk staff. The Cove for breakfast did not have much personality in the staff- very dry and non social depending on who you got. The monte cristo was amazing but a little under cooked on the inside. The breakfast potatoes were cold on the inside but others were warm. The gravy was really different and good. I would recommend the biscuits and gravy. The grilled chicken sandwich from the bar staff menu was great. The chicken menders were not. We couldn’t finish eating them. The pool towels guy did great at checking towels out and in as well as putting out the beach balls and cleaning around the pool area.

I loved all the live entertainment and food. But, sleep was impossible at nights. The night club was so loud. I could hear it perfectly in my 6th floor room. Everything else was great 👍

The check in agent was amazing!! Loved her energy and the way she welcomed us in. I didn’t get her name but we talked about her twin granddaughter’s graduation and how proud she was. The private beach is amazing. Quiet relaxing. We enjoyed it so much.

The room was nice and clean every day. The ocean was so close and you could swim in clear and warm water. Love it. We will be back.

Amazing property

Great place!

On our first day (Saturday) at Shephard's, we headed to the Tiki bar to enjoy drinks and food by the beach. Our family sat down to wait for the server, but we noticed Marlee (waitress) waiting on the table next to us. To our surprise, the tiki bar requires you to order your drinks/food at the bar, which no one mentioned to us. I had to write down our entire order and give it to the bartender, meaning any time I wanted a refill or more food, I had to go to the bar. This wasn't the experience I hoped for on my vacation. It was confusing to see Marlee waiting on other tables but not ours. Two days before we checked out, our air conditioner stopped working, and we had to sleep in a room that was 78 degrees. I reported it to the front desk, and they sent a maintenance person who 'fixed' it, but the room remained warm. By then, I was over complaining about things. On the bright side, the bartender Jared was the best I've ever met, attending to us with warmth and gratitude. The beach servers were also great, ensuring we always had water and drinks. Their new restaurant, Cove, was phenomenal with excellent hospitality from all staff. Would I stay at Shephard's again? Maybe not. However I do highly recommend getting servers at the tiki bar on weekends, especially with the high volume of people checking in.

We have been guests at Shepherds since the kids were little, know grown. We still visit yearly. Its a unique hotel in itself. The vibe is good! Just everything about it. The pretty lit up pool area with palms, the music stage, the room balconies that over look the bay/ pool. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is cool. Its 5 min from the Ocean / Pier . Restruants, stores. 24 hr gas station across st. Valet for car parking. Awesome place 😎

the beach, the coast and the sea are the best on the coast! Our windows overlooked the street. Therefore, we did not hear the daily Live music, and we had a quiet time, which cannot be said by guests whose windows overlooked the Gulf of Mexico. We didn't like that the sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach were paid and very expensive. We also didn't like the smell of the jet ski. But we will definitely come back here.

Shepherd’s Beach Resort was a great place for a short stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was as spacious and well equipped with a kitchenette, microwave and dishwasher. The cleaning staff were excellent. Room had good views of the ocean and comfortable. Things that could be improved include dining and room service facilities. Three bathroom could do with a bit more storage shelves etc. There could be better access control to the building in the adjacent block where our room was. As it stands, anyone can just walk into the building and the corridors. But overall a good place for a short stay and I’d visit again if I’m in that part.

Overall great experience. The housekeepers were visiting every day to clean and give fresh towels. The complementary parking and all the valley boys were very friendly. Having service at the bar and beach at a good price was the best thing, being with 2 toddlers asking for food every 2 hours :D I only advise if you are going and looking for good sleep, pick a room with an island view; if you are looking for a party , then I recommend the ocean view. The bar works every night until 2 am :).

I didn’t feel welcomed by the front desk staff during check-in. Additionally, I didn't like that valet service was mandatory, as it meant we had to wait every time we needed our car. It was inconvenient not to have full control over where my car was or to quickly grab something from it without waiting for the valet to bring the keys. The room also had a strange smell. On the positive side, the beach was very beautiful. However, if I return to the area, I would choose a different place to stay.

House keeping and car valet was very nice and professional.
