A city hotel conveniently located for easy access to the Center. Reasonable pricing and very good value for money

Great for an overnight stay - room clean if a little tired. Convenient location 10 mins walk from town, lovely breakfast. Secure parking. Amazing value with Tesco vouchers!

There was a frequent knocking sound, which I think was something to do with the tank that fed the plumbing system, linked to people flushing the toilet I think, seemed go quieter when I shut the bathroom door. The was exceptionally clean and in very good condition. Some biscuits with the brewing up stuff would have been nice.

Hotel is within easy walking distance of most things in the city. Road noise overnight is quite bad - probably best to ask for a room facing racecourse rather than the road.

Parking was said to be included, but wasn't. Had to go to the hotel from the car park security to try and sort it out, only to find out my booking hadn't actually got to the hotel itself. After a 30 minute wait, I was offered an apology as the booking had been "stuck in the system". I asked about parking and was told it wasn't included and that I had to pay £10 per night! Eventually, the staff agreed to offer me that FOC as a gesture of goodwill due to the booking fiasco. I then had to go back to the parking security box and explain all this.

Very convenient for town centre and all other sightseeing experieces. Situated right on Race Course. Staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was good. We were in room 310 which was roadside and we found it quite noisy so we had to keep the window closed which made the room very hot which didnt make for a good nights sleep but on the whole ticked the box for our visit. Beware that the Hotel car park costs you £10.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Ideal position for walking into Chester, didn't need to use the car at all. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful and breakfast very good and plentiful,

Clean room and helpful staff

The hotel has now introduced a £10 parking fee taht they didn't use to have.

Staff were friendly & helpful. Room needs updating but was clean. Breakfast was good & lots of options. But … there was a lot of noise all through the night, sounded like maybe lift cables banging, the bed was small and was very uncomfortable & the pillow especially so. Slept really badly both nights. Note that parking is £10 per night, not included as was shown in the details.

Amazing location just a 5 minute walk into chester. Nice clean rooms with plenty of free tea and coffee in rooms. Great breakfast! Staff extra friendly especially David and Angela. Highly recommend

Excellently position, convenient for all purposes ie racing, city exploration with many Excellent restaurants. The Holiday Inn Express is very comfortable together with an excellent Breakfast, together with the staff who will go the extra mile to ensure your stay is memorable

Stayed in a room overlooking the Racecourse which was a nice view, could also see the trains going by, thought they might be noisy but didnt get woke up by them. One thing we didnt like was the adjoining room doors as you could hear the people in the next room when checking in, luckily we didnt hear them at night which was good. Staff in the hotel were helpful & friendly.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Situated perfectly for Chester with just a 5 mins short walk into the Center. Room had everything you need. Good breakfast too. Will stay again.

Stayed in Hotel at least 6 times, now charged £10.00 for parking which was hidden in the small print, kept awake by adjoining room occupants until 3.00am, hotel security did their best to deal with noisy guests but ruined our nights stay, not sure we will return

Staff food and cleanliness was good. Unfortunately my son and his family stayed in room 228 next to the glass frontage of the building. His room was like a sauna. Absolutely unbearable. 3 fans and an open window did not help at all. His wife was going to go and sleep in the car because it was cooler. Unacceptable. Desk staff blamed the warm weather. When you walk up to second level the wall of heat just hits you. You cannot expect paying customers to sleep in these conditions. They had to take cold showers to cool down. Additional air conditioning during warmer weather may need to be considered in that part of the hotel. Nobody should have to sleep in that. Regards

Very friendly & central

Great staff and breakfast Good location Hotel was immaculate We were located in the 2nd floor and the heat was incredible even with 2 fans, resulted in a poor sleep and could not sit in the room. No air conditioning.

Hotel looked abit drab and tired from outside, however pleasantly surprised as was nice and modern and clean looking from the inside. Night staff was brilliant!didnt get his name but was very infirmative about the area and things to do with baby and even took my babies bottles to sterilise (in microwave, as self sterlising bottles). We did actually ring before we arrived to ask if we could have them sterlisied within the hotel and were advised that it wouldnt be a problem. Was a little surprised when i asked for the same thing in the morning the staff said it was not allowed! They did however take my bottles to sterilise 'as a one off' Train going past was a little annoying, more so for my wife. Overall plesant stay, breakfast was good, location was also good. Would likely stay again

The location of the hotel is great. The staff are friendly and helpful. The parking is good. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel this time we visited. There were visible signs of dust in the bedroom.

The window was open when we arrived which was a blessing in the mini heatwave. A fan was also provided in our room. The complimentary parking was also an added bonus.

Excellent location right next to the racecourse, our rooms had a view of the course. Our rooms were ready early so we were able to drop our bags in before heading to the races. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good next morning.

Used this hotel as a base for doing some tourist trips. Excellent quality from the staff to the beds, cleanliness and breakfast. The tea/coffee/juice downstairs in the evening was amazing. We overlooked the racecourse a lovely view. Only negative for us on a comfort level was the heat in the rooms. No air con and a little fan supplied. Made for a sweaty night's sleep but was definitely outweighed by the good.

Was greeted by a very friendly lady who gave us a map and suggestions for visiting Chester, high recommend this hotel
