Checkin great, horse race in room above at 3 am was very noisy. Bed was clean but it is a tired hotel. When the bathroom door won't open because it hits the toilet there's a problem.

Average hotel, nothing fancy, rooms were clean. Close to dining and attractions.

The front desk employee was friendly and the toilet, tub and sink were clean but, the bedding looked old with faded stains, vents and every corner was layered with grime, there was a strong odor in the building and room, the doors wood paneling was peeling, the paint was chipped, you cannot fully open the bathroom door because it hits the front of the toilet so the bathrooms have limited accessibility, there is little pool privacy or landscaping or outdoor maintenance; the pool appeared clean at first but, I removed a living frog with the net (no fault of hotel) and while I was checking for further frogs, saw a large-ish object at the bottom of the pool. Scooped it out with the net and it was a huge chunk of what looked like raw meat/a piece of roast. I’m not joking. It was revolting. I got the front desk employee and said that I need to show him something that I removed from the pool (now on the ‘lawn’ outside the pool fence). Asked him to consider closing pool, shocking pool and asked if there were cameras for them to figure out what the hell happened. He apologized, he took a picture of it (and the frog for some reason), said he checked the pool when he arrived at work and didn’t see anything, and said he texted his manager and would let me know. I never heard anything, I checked out the next morning (noone was at the desk and they had a cup for returned room keys); the pool was still open. They offered no remedy. Would never stay there or recommend that place.

it fit our needs, a one night stay to facilitate meeting with friends. Clean, basic room.

This place looks like it was relatively recently renovated but it was done cheaply. The person at the front desk was not very 'motivated'. The price payed for one night was excessive for what you get at this place.

The bathroom had Mildew. No one ever inspects these rooms to make sure they are up to par. Managers do not follow up .

My best friend & I went for the weekend. As others have said, the outside leaves much to be desired. However, when you go in, much nicer. Front desk staff were friendly. Overall, great location, nice staff and clean, comfortable rooms. Would stay there again.

Worst hotel of our recent 2 week trip around New England the room was not in great condition, wouldn’t stay again.

Off a major road. The bathroom door could not open the whole way as it would hit the toilet.

The rating had the property wonderful, it was extremely far from that!

Check in was easy - we got there really late and no problems. Room was clean. Bed was just right. Convenient to grocery and some big box shopping. Nice to be just outside all the hubbub in the busier Newport area. Quick drive to Sail Newport. Easy to get what you forgot to bring.

Hallways not kept clean.

Its newly remodled and clean and its location is very convenient to supermarket, shopping centers and downtown newport

For the price we expected a little more but summer time is an expensive time to travel. Room was clean but hallways could be cleaner. Breakfast was ok with some fruits, yogurt, waffle making machine, coffee and juice. Hotel is across the street from supermarket and there are other shops close by and Newport is a short 10 min drive.

When you first walk in, you notice the air fresheners in the hallway to cover up whatever odors there are. The doors for each room are thin and I could hear dogs barking in surrounding rooms. My room had a sliding door to the balcony with a screen that was ripped. The outside handle to the sliding door was a piece of wood to replace the real handle. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were about 16 inches thick. Good luck trying to sleep on that. I just had to sleep without a pillow. I wanted to enjoy the pool but there were 4 guys who looked like they just graduated high school with glass beer bottles partying it up. The breakfast area was small with little selection. It had one ice machine that could be located by following the paper signs that were taped on the walls. I wouldn't stay here again for the $250/night cost from a Wednesday to a Friday.

Heard snoring from the room next door and chair rolling from upstairs employees cooking fish in the other room. Hallway Floor hasn’t been vacuumed in weeks. Stain on the chair in my room and molds on the shower curtains. Just a horrible place!!

It was very good for what a budget hotel is supposed to be. I liked the fact it had no carpeting; it felt cleaner and updated. I was in the area for a few nights and just wanted a place close by, a clean room and comfortable bed. My only negatives were that the shower water pressure was weaker than I like. The bed could've been more firmer and the tv channel choices a bit more robust. The free breakfast was okay. Some protein like eggs, bacon sausage would've been nice, but I get that they're expensive. The pool looked very nice but I did not go in. It was on a busy roadway but the old style ac white noise kept it quiet and kept the room nice and cold. It was convenient to lots of food and shopping choices; i would go back if in the area again.

Our room was comfortable and quiet. Front desk staff member was very helpful with any questions. The location and price worked out well for our visit to Newport.

Outside of the front desk employee who was very nice, this stay was very unpleasant. The room was not as described. We were supposed to have a single king bed and instead had two double beds. The bathroom door would not open fully and was obstructed by the toilet. The beds were wet from the blankets not being dried properly. Hand soap in the body wash dispenser. Poor A/C units that did not work properly. Additionally the power switch for the room was located where light switches were supposed to be. It was quite noisy and the area is unsafe. I will not be staying at a red roof again for these reasons

We checked out a bit late. But didn’t have an issue with that. Over all good stay
