Good location but room small and a bit ‘tired’. Staff in reception were friendly but the service in the restaurant was not very good.

Stay here for the experience at mont saint michel. Dont expect luxury. Take a small bag for sure! I would stay here again as i loved walking the ramparts at night. So beautiful and serene!

If you want to stay on the island at Mont St. Michel, there are only a few options. This hotel was good, and its limitations were related only to its unique location. There is a television (we did not use it), but no air conditioning (we did not need it on this chilly June night). There is no elevator and the rooms are small. You will need to carry bags up the stairs, but I suppose if you are visiting Mont St. Michel you probably aren’t concerned about stairs. The on site restaurant is excellent. There is a private (opens with your room key) access to the Mont St. Michel ramparts, which is a very nice perk. You can exit the hotel and be walking around the abbey in minutes. We were there on D Day, and the island was very crowded, but it was magnificent when the crowds mostly left about 5 pm. We had the island to ourselves, and enjoyed a private sunset. Then we went out early in the morning for a walk when NO ONE was around. This is what is special about this hotel.

There is no lift. Reception is on first floor (not ground floor). Room is good. there is only twin bed. Check in and check out is fast.

Beds are very old and the blankets and linens could be upgraded.

The room was small but lots of character with a view up to the cathedral. Great being able to access the seawall directly from the hotel. Staff helpful and friendly. Beds v comfortable and bathroom v clean (towels somewhat thin and worn out though). Limited choice in the restaurant - some tried and tested favorites. Fabulous location

Such a cool experience to stay on Mont St. Michel.

The hotel is old and the rooms are very small. The stairs to the rooms are narrow and the hotel is under staffed so don’t expect anyone to help you bringing the luggage up/down. It’s impossible if you’re physically challenged, there’s no lifts or elevators. It’s better to stay in town and take the shuttle bus to the Abby. It’s a much cheaper and better option.

Staying here was a taste of the tranquility and security of living during the medieval period without the struggle. The architecture makes the mind wander.

This is a great location with access to the ramparts around the island from the hotel. If you access the upper walkway, it's great to walk around aimlessly. You'll find cute boutiques for souvenirs, books, toys, etc. You'll also find cafés with views or outside access. Downside is there is no hotel lobby to hang out in and our room was really small so no place to hang out to wait for your family/friends outside the restaurants or your room. We had a reservation for 4 people which gave us a small room with a bed for 2 people and very small bathroom. We also had a loft accessible by a tiny spiral staircase with 2 more beds upstairs. My adult daughter stayed up there but I was not tempted to check it out since she said the stairs were quite narrow. We were there at the beginning of DEC. 2023. All but 2 restaurants were closed at night and the town was mostly deserted except for a few tourists who didn't mind bundling up against the chilly winds and temps. The dinner restaurant was what you might expect on a tiny island with a captive audience that can't be choosey about other options, ie. just ok but not great. The vin chaud was good. I can't imagine how crowded this tiny island must be in high season. Avoid it as much as you can.

What a surprise after reading about the hotels on Mont-St-Michel being overpriced, under serviced etc. The hotel was quite charming, clean as a whistle and comfortable. Breakfast was good with excellent coffee! We particularly enjoyed the door that led directly to the ramparts. Staying in the island was magical and allowed us to explore without the crowds.

We had a wonderful stay in a seperate room up the hill. Small room but clean & quiet. Cam e back down the hill for a wondful meal in the hotel's restaurant & a great buffet breakfast in the morning. Staff could not have been more helpful.
