We stayed for the pool and hot tub but the hot tub was broken and we weren't ever notified until we got there. The room was ok but there was food splattered on the lamp shade.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The staff was kind. My family stayed here because of the pool, splash pool, and hot tub. My kids wanted to swim and this was a great option. Our room was clean. The other guests were pretty noisy running up and down and the halls when my kids were trying to sleep, but that is but the hotel’s fault for guests being disrespectful of other guests. Overall, it was an amazing weekend!

Fast check in with a bland clerk- not rude but not friendly at all. The property is run down - hot tub, ice machines broken, water stained ceiling. Toilet ran all night. Gary, IN clientele- police responded to domestic abuse at 2am. Not a family friendly place.

Great location. A/C unit was out in our room when we arrived. Maintenance quickly had it changed out while we were gone for a wedding. When we returned it was cool in our room again.

The staff were very friendly. I was able to do early check in because my room was ready. The room was clean and had cute amenities, Coffee, tea, plenty of towels, etc. Breakfast was surprisingly good. I wouldn’t dare stay anywhere else. 10/10 I’ll stay again!

Right off the interstate. Restaurants within walking distance. Great area. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good, lots of options. Hotel was packed but had plenty of parking and we didn’t hear any of our neighbors.

Friendly house keeping employees! The hot tub was extremely frothy and foamy and had a greenish tint to the water. Dead skin scum and gross variations of discoloration in all of the foam. I was on the 2nd floor for almost a week and every morning I was woken up by someone above me stomping and running litrerally at 7am every morning. Not sure if this was a guest that just couldn't keep control of their children or what but very annoying. Carpets in my room had lots of stains my bathroom sink would fill up before draining. Floors felt very sticky and gross. This is my fifth or sixth time staying here and I want to come back, I just hope some of these issues can be addressed.

The suite comfortable but dated. Carpet was stained; bathroom was clean but missing grout and the toilet flapper needed to be replaced because it ran at least twice an hour.

The room was 81°took 3 hrs to cool down, put me in a handi cap room the jacuzzi in the room dod not work, hotel was sold out so could not move my room

They have a nice pool, with a hot tub for the grown-ups and a shallow pool for the kids, along with a small water slide for the young ones. Breakfast is also included with your stay, and it changed slightly each day, so it doesn't get boring.
The only problem we had was that the carpet in our room made the bottom of our socks and feet black. We just had to remember to wear shoes when walking inside to get over that. Still, it was very clean besides that.
We really enjoyed this hotel and will be back again!

Stayed here before which is why we chose this location again. Hotel staff was nice as usual and they’ve updated their rooms which were nice. Hot breakfast and no long lines if you get up early. My only complaint was the lack of respect from other visitors and their children. You can’t expect manners to be taught everywhere to everyone I guess.

Stayed in a Country Suites in Dubuque Iowa 4 days prior and was not impressed- low on staff, opened shampoo/conditioner, pretty sure the ppl that were running it lived there. Portage was unbelievable! The staff was absolutely amazing, pool/hot tub and breakfast were awesome! Highly recommend staying at this Country Inn in Portage Indiana

We stayed at the property.. Check-in was easy. It was convenient to Indiana Dune. During Breakfast, staff was complaining that the hotel was busy. They ran out of food during breakfast.

My family of six loved our two night stay! It is so hard to find a hotel that gives our family enough room to spread out, but we had plenty of room in our suite. That in an of itself made the stay so much more relaxing. Everything was clean and comfortable, and my kids loved the pool area. I saw other reviews that it was super busy and “policed” by staff members, but that was not our experience at all. We were virtually the only ones in their both times. It was during the week, which I’m sure made a difference, but it was so nice. I also read that the beds were uncomfortable, and again, that was not our experience. Sometimes I think people just look for something to complain about. My kids enjoyed the complimentary cookies, also. I would 100 percent stay here again.

I spent extra for a "Suite, 1 Bedroom, Non Smoking"
(even though I knew the hotel was extremely overpriced), so we could have a sitting area in the evening to unwind. Got to the room, and we had TWO BEDROOMS and NO SITTING AREA. I went to the desk and said: "I reserved a SUITE." They said, "That is what we call a suite." That is NOT a suite: a suite has a sitting area. The only place for us to sit was on the beds, which was very uncomfortable. HORRIBLE and OUTRAGEOUS and OVERPRICED.

Called front desk from our room when needing additional items. They would not answer. Dryer was also broken in the hotel lobby so we could not use it as needed. We mainly booked this hotel for the swimming pool for our daughter and when we tried to go swimming they were closed at noon in the middle of the day so we were completely unable to use it. For the price, this hotel was not worth it and was at the quality of a days inn which would’ve been half the price. Overall would not recommend this hotel again and would not book here again.

We had a great stay! Plenty of towels by the pool and the kids had a great time in the kids pool as well as the large pool. Kind staff, it was a great stop for us and plenty of room to spread out in the room we reserved.
