Fasano is overpriced for what it offers. The location is great, the service amenities are good, but the rooms are small and the hotel is ageing and offers few amenities.

Room was solid. Great view of ocean, hotel is in a good location. Beach guys were great getting us organized for a beach day, outside of that the service was lackluster. The front desk always had four people there in blue jackets and the first time someone acknowledged me or asked how my trip was going was when I checked out. Th is place just doesn’t screen 5 star luxury, but the price does. Overall I was disappointed and felt like it was not worth the almost 1,000 usd a night price.

Poor concierge services - they do bare minimum and did not properly explain specifics. For example they recommended we leave without umbrellas to visit museum of the future on rainy day knowing full well taxis/ubers drop off is quite a distance across an open square to the museum (we got soaked). They also told us it was an “easy 15 minute walk” from museum of future to aquarium (definitely not and through a very sketchy area to boot) - fortunately we had decided to Uber at that point. Despite checking in on my birthday and mentioning it to concierge it wasn’t recognized until a small round cake was left in our room 3 days later. Hotel has no bar (was not reopened since Pandemic), staff is not proficient in English and facilities appear worn. If you are looking for quality / class I would suggest avoiding this hotel altogether and staying at Belmond Copacabana Palace.

The best part without hesitation is the rooftop pool area. It has one of the best views in Rio de Janiero overlooking Ipanema beach Otherwise, we loved the balcony in our room which was very quiet and peaceful. The onsite restaurant offers delicious Italian food and the staff always goes above and beyond to help you. I definately plan on staying here again!

Location is excellent. The hotel facilities is getting old. Some of the power plugs no longer work, some of the features were broken, etc.

A once in a lifetime experience at Hotel Fasano we will never ever forget! We landed in Rio after a red eye at 6 AM in the morning, and despite not being able to check in early, when we returned from our day tour, we were made aware we were granted a room upgrade. As two American honeymooners who had traveled a long way, we were so grateful. We stayed in the most incredible suite with the best view of a sunset over Ipanema beach on our balcony. The staff went above and beyond, decorating our room while we were out to dinner. Other fabulous takeaways: A prime location close to both Ipanema and Copacabana and ocean front, delicious breakfast buffet, and insane rooftop infinity pool for guests to use. You would be crazy not to stay here during your Rio visit! One of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Thank you Hotel Fasano!

The hotel is beautiful and is in a nice location right across the street from the beach, but not worth the price. The spa amenties weren't as nice as I thought they'd be from looking at services online. The pool is much smaller and more shallow than it looks in pictures. Breakfast isn't included.

The staff and level of service exceeded our expectations! I’d recommend anyone looking for a luxury getaway to pick this hotel. Julianna at the Concierge desk and Merrilo in the restaurant are just two of many that took very good care of us.

It’s allways amazing to go back to the Fasano . It was my second time and it was just as good as I expected. The concierge’s are the best and are able to help in anything you need . Will dream of going back soon . The should update the carpets in the halls

Lots of challenges here. The suite had light bulbs out and knobs missing. Also, the hotel doesn’t allow guests - not even family or even during the day.

The best service in years at any hotel I have stayed at. I have stayed at the Fasano many times, and they have upped their game at this location regarding services 10/10

This one was our second visit to Fasano Rio. And as usual, in every Fasano Family property we have stayed in, was a blast.

I love this hotel. I have the honor to stay there at the most important times of my life. Even if I don't stay at the hotel, If I am in Rio I have to go there at least for eat. I feel home. The service is impeccable and the views are breathtaking.

Stay at the hotel during the summer season, at the beginning of January. Warm welcome from the staff and fairly clean room but without being faultless. Lots of little bad cleaning and decor finishes. The rooms have a fairly pleasant and rather masculine design, but the materials are damaged. A very narrow entry even if the configuration is rather well thought out. Damaged wooden floors, wooden walls in poor condition. The armchair in the bedroom and the leather bed bench are not maintained so the leather cracks. About half of the hotel's ocean-facing rooms do not face the iconic mountain of Ipanema. We weren't allowed to have one of them. In-room coffee is not courtesy gift. Rooftop: The swimming pool is nice but the resin inside of it blisters all over the place and pulls away. The equipment: Gray and deformed exotic wood chairs. Terrace in an exotic wood, same thing. Poorly stabilized and we jump on our sun-bed as soon as someone passes nearby. No parasol on days when there is a light wind, but in truth as soon as the weather is cloudier. But if the sun comes out, they don't change their minds quickly. Time to take a good sunburn. The gym is pitiful for athletes who like weight training equipment, machines and more. Breakfast: Arrival at 10:30am you are informed that the buffet will be removed and the kitchen closes 15 minutes later. Without be notified when entering the breakfast room and paying 25€/person. The breakfast room doesn't have a window. So no light no sun!

Meh stay…definitely OVERPRICED. The hotel is trying to be something that is NOT. The location is spot on and it is great! Once cannot argue with that…but for a hotel that is charging as much as it does for a daily rate it falls WAY short from delivering. The beds are SO UNCOMFORTABLE and TINY for the rooms with 2 beds…it was like sleeping on the floor. Not exaggerating after my week stay I arrived back in the US with sore/back pain. They can do WAY better on the comfort of the beds for the cost. The decorations are great not only in the rooms but also throughout the hotel. The rooftop pool is amazing! The view and the location are killers! And definitely enjoy that. The cost of the hotel food throughout the property is DEFINITELY OVERPRICED for Brazil. The service is hit and miss…again trying to be a luxury hotel but they don’t have the discipline to act and provide customer service of such luxury or 5-star hotel. Lack of follow thru from staff, had to ask something 3 TIMES before I got an answer…3 days later! Stayed for a week and walked through the lobby NUMEROUS times…barely got greeted by ANYONE! And they always at a minimum had 3 to 4 people standing behind the counter. The housekeeping staff was AMAZING! No matter who we ran across they always greeted us. The gym is a JOKE and an EMBARRASSMENT. Honestly, I am SHOCKED they even have that open! Beat up equipment, NO bench, old weights and just plain ridiculous for the HIGH COST of the hotel.
