Very pleasant stay. Extremely friendly staff.

What can I say? Don’t judge a book by its cover. The building looks very elegant from the outside, but that’s where it ends. As soon as you step inside the hotel, you’re greeted with a very dated look. The whole house feels “wonky”. Floorboards keep moving under your feet. No lift, so if you’re given a room on the top floor, good luck! Room was just as “wonky”. Floor in the bathroom wasn’t level, so felt you were walking down a hill. WC took 5-10 minutes to re-fill! Shower head dirty. No fan in the tiny bathroom and we couldn’t open the window as it been painted over, so impossible to open. Bedside table was leaning forward, so some of my items slid off! Bed light above the bed was hanging off the wall. Breakfast was ok. Parking onsite behind the hotel. Just don’t bring too big a vehicle or you won’t make into the parking lot! Best thing? Location! Just a few minutes walk from the Hoe, but apart from that, nothing else. Needless to say, we won’t be returning to this (what is in our opinion) a 2 star hotel!

Looked like the hotel hadn't been refurbished for many many years. My colleagues who stayed there asked not to be booked in to that hotel again

The hotel location is great to Plymouth attractions. The staff were very nice and friendly and the services were nice except the shower which was very bad because of the weak water pressure.

We had a great overnight stay, the hotel staff were really friendly and the breakfast was great! Ideally located with very comfortable and clean rooms.

Lovely hotel, well located for the Hoe Gardens, Barbican and city centre. A friendly welcome with really well maintained rooms and public spaces. Great breakfast too 🙂

Had a really lovely stay here with my partner, who proposed that night. When we went down to have some tea we said about just being engaged and they even brought us a free drink, the food at the hotel was amazing and both food and drinks wasn’t that expensive, prices that you’d expect at a pub not a hotel. Would definitely recommend and will 1000% be coming back

We had a no hassle stay overnight while waiting for the Spain ferry. The front desk clerk on hearin my wife had a heart condition changed our room to the ground floor eliminating any stair climbing for her. A very adequate friendly hotel

Positives: Very convenient for seafront and city, handsome building, lovely breakfast, efficient staff. Negatives: My single room was smaller than a prison cell. The room was in the attic with many flights of stairs to climb. Bed was grubby and needs replacing

Lovely Hotel, friendly staff, lovely breakfasts for the week. Only downside was we were on the 3rd floor and water pressure on the shower was lacking.

I had a great stay - this is my sort of hotel. It's big enough to have a comfortable bar and night porter, etc. but not so big that you feel totally anonymous. Friendly staff, lovely bar, nice toiletries, excellent location for the Hoe and Barbican as well as the city centre. My only suggestions for improvements would be a breakfast menu to consider while drinking your orange juice... And the outside of the windows was due a clean. Really loved this hotel and I look forward to staying again.

The stay was ok we were right on the 3rd floor too many stairs it was hsrd work But what was most upsetting was the price of the 2 breakfasts Get ready for it £14.95 each absolute daylight robbery . Wont be going back there again .

Great location near seaFriendly StaffOnly one small bottle of water in room for 2 people. Description gave impression there was a coffee maker in room but only a kettle with instant coffee and only one type tea bag.Beds comfortable.Overall ok hotel

The room was comfortable and this is run by a family who were very accomodating and friendly.

It was a weekend away and we choose to stay over night in Invicta Hotel as price in pet friendly hotel we counted as acceptable. Additionally £10 to pay ok no problem. In the advert, they say rooms with pet allowance only selected. We had a phone call where they double checking your selection and allocation to appropriate accommodation as required. On arrival no parking available as the hotel has very small car parking. But they issue parking ticket to leave your car on the street within the parking zone. Trouble you have that even that is not easy as a lot of cars parked around and you may have to leave your car bit further away. Room far away from hotel standard. More closer to say like a room to rent somewhere in private lettings. Maybe it has something to do with pet friendly accommodation but choosing hotel stay over night you would expect bit higher standard. Tea and coffee tray good stock selection but milk outdated nearly 2 months. No air conditioning if someone do prefer lower temp only option is open up the windows. Shower has all shower gel, shampoo and conditioner installed but secure mounted to wall, bit problematic pressing with one hand and holding other to release any of small dose, as mounted high and in far corner. Despite all these things hotel and room it self very clean, staff very pleasant. In these difficult time they do wear face masks and on check in they do checking guests temperature.

Bedroom was on the 4th floor, the last flight of stairs were very steep. No lift. No fridge in the room. The bedroom floor was so uneven the cup slid off the bedside cabinet. Conditioner but no shampoo in the shower.

the hotel was excellent. however in future I will book direct. four floors to this hotel, no lift. a lot of stairs if your room on fourth floor. would definitely use again

Being able to park (free) behind the hotel was a bonus. First come first served and we were lucky enough to get a spot

Very good location no lift because of listed building so you need to be fit to do the last staircase into the eaves. Carpet could do with replacing.
