I stayed at the Chelsea for a brief two-night stay during a work trip. It's a cool place! Definitely more of an inn/b&b feel than your standard hotel. Really neat common areas, friendly staff, and well kept. I had a smaller queen room, which was adequate for one person, maybe tight for two. Room was clean and included a tv and fridge, though not a safe. The front desk provided earplugs, but I found the room to be quiet (though it was midweek in the off season - may be a different story at other times).
Location is convenient, probably more so in season. A short walk to the boardwalk/beach,directly across from the Tropicana.
The Pub was a nice little watering hole too. Decent food, friendly staff, reasonable prices.
Overall, I'd recommend The Chelsea Inn!

This is a gem in Atlantic City. This is so much nicer than staying in just another room at one of the casinos. It's an older building with lots of style. Rooms were very clean, breakfest and parking included makes this such a value over the other overpriced options in AC

I totally love this gorgeous quirky place. So much more my style than a cheesy casino! Clean, friendly, interesting, and close to everything! A surprise around every corner! The breakfast was fantastic, we enjoyed dining on the patio.

A good last minute place and not a long stay type of hotel. Not the best area, very noisy and smelly outside and there were some weirdos but overall was a good stay.

The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The room was small and there was at least a 3 inch gap under the door that we had to stuff a towel into. There is free parking and breakfast which we decided to skip. The location is next to the Tropicana. We made the mistake of coming back from the casinos late at night and the area becomes overrun with prostitutes, drug users and tons of locals sitting on the steps and blocking the entrance. It doesn’t feel safe here at night and just based on that, we would never stay here again.

The inn is absolutely lovely. So much charm. Nicely decorated. A very short walk to the beach and boardwalk and a block away from the Tropicana. Just be aware that there is a 24 hour bar downstairs with an outside patio. Make sure to ask for a room at the back of the hotel. It gets very loud in the front rooms at night in the summer.

Property is historic and remodeled. Friendly service, property and room smell and look so clean. Spacious room, comfortable beds. Be prepared for small hallways and stairs as expected in a historic home. The surrounding neighborhood and boardwalk is a bit suspect. However, parking was easy and I felt very safe whilst on property.

The Chelsea Inn gives you a sense of what Atlantic City was like 100 years ago, in the best possible sense. The building and decoration are stunning, the staff is friendly, and the beds comfortable. The photos on the wall and furnishings give you a sense of how much history there is to this town, long before the high-rise casinos and run-down store fronts came to dominate it.

Great old “classic” turn of the century shore hotel, but the neighborhood is loud and active all night. Lots of noise, sirens, and loud patrons from other nearby hotels.

The place is a very nice place very homey. My only con is there was not enough body wash for 2 people. You get plenty shampoo and conditioner and not to many body washes. I would stay there again. In spite of there having a bar open 24 hrs a day, I heard no noise at all so that was a plus. Parking was a plus 👍

Our room was super clean and staff was very friendly. Parking on site was easy and you could walk to a lot in the area.
The cons were we found no way to change the room temperature or turn on a fan even. The place had super thin walls so you could hear everything going on inside and outside the bldg which made it hard to sleep. Also we had a very firm bed which was tough. We would definitely stay here again but would bring a small portable fan with us.

Our stay at the Chelsea Inn was absolutely delightful! The ambiance of the place is steeped in Victorian charm, adorned with walls adorned with fascinating antiques and historical treasures. The staff were exceptionally warm and accommodating, making us feel right at home. We felt secure and at ease within the confines of the building. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend the Chelsea Inn to anyone seeking a memorable experience, and we most certainly look forward to returning in the future.

I think the louvre door which served as a bathroom door between the king sized bedroom and toilet area was ridiculous and really made our stay a bit unpleasant. I don’t know what genius thought this door was a good plan but it’s not. Also there was no bath fan. It’s a shame because everything else was pretty great. Privacy matters.

Great little historic hotel. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was included which was also nice. The only drawback was no temperature control in any of the rooms. It was extremely warm and we had to open the windows to get any type of air circulation. Other than that, it was a fantastic stay.

I have stayed at the Chelsea many times over the years. It is a quiet Inn a 1/2 block from the boardwalk and about 3/4 of a mile from the outlet shops. I go during teachers convention. They serve a nice breakfast with lovely places to sit during your meal.

2nd visit at this hotel- super friendly staff, clean room, great breakfast, this will be our go-to hotel in AC from now on - 1 block from the boardwalk- check it out, you will not be disappointed -

This was a unique spot the first time we stayed here a few years ago. This visit was not so lovely. Our room was small, had been refitted with badly installed engineered hardwood flooring, and was noisy (right above the vent from the restaurant below) and hot. The breakfast, which in the past had been a beautiful french country buffet, was disappointing, to say the least. Staff was all very friendly. It now has the feel of a corporate operation instead of a quaint inn. I am sorry to see this change in such a lovely little hotel.

This hotel is a great location for being right downtown in Atlantic City. Just steps from the Tropicana. This is not our cookie cutter hotel! The rooms are designed around the period give off a spooky yet safe vibe. We stayed in October do the owners and staff really played up the Halloween angle which was appreciated. Breakfast was included and very good. There’s stories with no elevator may be a challenge for some, especially with bags. We loved it!

My husband and I are so glad we found the Chelsea Pub & Inn! We decided to stay over in AC after a concert at the nearby Boardwalk Hall, and fortunately there was still room at the inn. The staff was super friendly and our room was clean, comfy, and neatly decorated. The building has so many beautiful architectural features and amazing art and antique pieces inside. The free parking and breakfast were a great bonus. I would SO much rather stay at a nice spot like this than a chain or casino hotel. Thank you, Chelsea!

The property has so much history. We stayed on the third floor. A bit difficult for me as I have neuropathy. But it was one night and I didn’t think to ask where the room was. Breakfast in the morning. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Close to the beach, boardwalk and Tropicana Casino and hotel. Parking on the premises which is appreciated. Would recommend this stay

Very nice breakfast served, coffee/tea/water all day, library and games (chess!) available, peaceful nooks indoors and outdoors available for quiet retreats and the pub & restaurant attached... all around a delightful place for our romantic getaway!
