Wonderful pub and hotel in a beautiful location. Room was unexpectedly large - plenty big enough for two of us and our dog. Very cosy and had everything we needed after a couple of days hiking in the snow.
We will definitely be back.

Welcomed by a complimentary, reserved parking space directly opposite the hotel and exceptional staff who looked after us from the first minute!
Home made food was delicious, service was great and a pleasant, quiet seating area at the rear of the hotel/pub. All reasonably priced.
The room was spotless, well presented and fitting with the history of the location. Quiet and very comfortable for a good night’s sleep.
Completely furry friend friendly and an excellent place to stay for an array of local attractions, walls and traditional browsing shops.
We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.

Had a fantastic stay here. Our room was incredible, it was one of the best places we stayed on our trip. Close to all the attractions in castleton and hope and convenient parking right across the street. Staff were wonderful!

Had a nice stay at the Peak Hotel. Helpful staff and nice location

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and very helpful. Our room was very nice and comfortable and the four poster bed was lovely as well. The food at the hotel is very nice and very well priced and the real ales are superb. Although they don’t do breakfast there are plenty of places to get breakfast, we used Ye Old Nags Head and for £10.95 it was value for money. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at The Peak Hotel and will be staying there again. If you haven’t visited Castleton I would highly recommend it it is a beautiful Village ideally placed, and also parking at The Peak Hotel is free which is an added bonus.

Really great pub in fantastic location. Had a wonderful 2 night stay with my partner and dog. The room was big and had everything we needed. The only negative was the tv was a bit on the small side. They don’t do breakfast but there are plenty of options in the village or use their sister pub in Hope and get discount. (Best breakfast we had) We also ate at the restaurant in the evening and the food was delicious. 100% recommend staying here.

Really lovely staff and great check in experience. It was the perfect location for some great walks. Our room was perfectly pleasant.

Terrible Sunday roast with uncooked roast potatoes, over-cooked veg and disgusting gravy. Black mould in the bathroom and no curtain on the window that faced the street and left us both feeling fairly exposed. Wouldn’t recommend. It’s only saving grace is location and friendly staff.

Hotels.com dont state no food on a Mon, Tues, no breakfasts at all. Window in room 4 is very small side window, details say castle view but its not. The fire escaoe goes right past the windiw which guests use as a alternative way out, peering in the window. Worst thing 2 roof lights, covered in frosted plastic, what a terrible awaking at 4am! As there is no blinds. The electric roof fan looks dangerous when its on it moves at the ceiling as if going to come down. No hot water at basin in bathroom. Apart from that bed comfortabke and clean, lovely old room

Lovely venue. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Hallway would benefit from freshening up but decor overall was classy.

First off, this hotel had a bath tub that was DEEP and had hot that filled the tub. Secondly your bed is a 4 poster bed which is so cool. You feel like a kind or queen in it. The internet works best in the bar below, which is even better because sitting in the bar getting some work done while being able to people watch made it feel like your own living room. The staff are so insanely approachable and friendly. The parking is the easiest thing you will ever do being right across the street from the hotel. The last thing is the location. If you want to feel like you've been transported into another world its the place to visit. The big green hills covered in sheep all around are the best things you will find. Besides the castle that is up on the hill. Then there is also AMAZING coffee just across the street. I CANNOT RECOMMEND this place more to people and a must stop if staying in the lake district. Oh and the caves around are really cool. 10/10 will be returning for a longer stay next time.

Staff were friendly, service was good.
The hotel and furnishings were a little tired with worn carpets.
The bar area was badly laid out with unnecessary clutter.
Out of hours access is through a side entrance and an untidy back yard.
Overall though, an enjoyable stay.

The staff were warm and friendly- the room had everything we needed after a libg day walking; hot shower, fresh towels, kettle and comfy bed! The food in the restaurant was delicious and well priced- we will stay here again.

Great food, friendly staff !!

we had a 2 night stay and whilst the staff were very welcoming we were disappointed that they knew that the TV in our room wasnt working and didnt tell us or offer to move us into a different room. The room was a little chilly which was caused by the large window not being closed properly, we could not reach the handle to close it due to a wooden partition. The room was also noisy being directly above the bar which happened to have an open mic night on one of the nights we stayed. At £95 per night with no breakfast ( although we did receive a discount for their sister hotel in Hope ) we feel this hotel is overpriced by about £20.

Was a great hotel, with good burgers and friendly staff.

Great location for a base in Hope Valley and a stones throw from pubs, visitors attractions and amazing scenery.
Comfy bed. Great size bathroom with walk-in shower. Genuine, warm hospitality from all the staff. Lovely breakfast.

Great room above a fun little pub. We enjoyed the convenient parking across the street. Check in was simple and our room was just as stated in the booking information.
The staff that assisted with our check in recommended Tilly's for breakfast as they do not serve it at the hotel. It was great! Lots of shops and hiking located within walking distance as well.
We would definitely stay here again.

The room was great apart from very noisy from 6am due to the Quarry Lorries driving through the village. They should invest in some Secondary Glazing. The breakfast was disappointing. Streaky bacon, Come on. Offered wholemeal toast, served us white and had the cheek to question if we'd ordered wholemeal by the same lad who took our order. Two eggs on toast turned into one, hard boiled was interpreted as under cooked snotty.
The Sunday roast was served cold. Random items were missing and very sparse. £16 and only served one potato , cold and hard. No breakfast was available on the Monday morning. Only served Saturday and Sunday. Think we'll give it a wide berth in future.

Only disappointment was no breakfast available

Easy check in with the bar staff. Ran through all we needed to know.
Great location for walks.
2.0
Great place to stay with immensely friendly staff.
Choice and quality of food was excellent with the menu changing frequently to facilitate seasonal foods.
Room was comfortable enough and clean.
Only downside was breakfast wasn’t available to have until 9am, which was a shame and confusing as the area it services is there for people to explore the Peak District.
The other watch out is that other places don’t open until 9 or later too, so will need to plan for something else to fuel before hiking.

Really ideal spot and great value. Food was lovely, the burgers are recommendedWe stayed with a dog and there is a seperate exit for guests to use which is helpful Only downside is road noise if you are a light sleeper, we were room 3. That being said we will definitely return and would be happy with same roomFree parking is a bonus! Saves you a few ££ over a couple of days

Great weekend had. Very friendly and great atmosphere in the bar in the evening.

Was booked in for 2 night sat on Saturday & Sunday. Went down for breakfast yesterday morning & was informed they don’t do it on a Monday despite Chef being in the kitchen. Found this very bizarre considering Castleton is renowned for walkers so surely a decent breakfast sets you up for the day. Cannot fault room, plenty of coffeet/tea making facilities but wooden beamed floor in bathroom with a step out of bath and a further step up to the toilet not ideal for an older person. Had meal in the pub on Saturday night, nothing to write home about and am sure we were greatly overjoyed otherwise most expensive beer in the country.

Charming pub in the middle of a beautiful setting (Peak District) with old stone buildings surrounding it, just amazing. The bedrooms with its four poster bed and newly furnished bathroom was perfect. Very spacious and clean. Parking is also available across the street. Pub offers and nice variety on their menu but no breakfast duringbthe week. Being a pub there's loads if different ales to try too.Staff are very friendly and chatty. Overall a 10 out of 10 experience.

The room was comfortable and well-appointed although there was no information provided as to whether there was wifi available.
The staff in the bar and restaurant were very friendly and helpful and they are handling the current restrictions in a friendly and efficient manner.
