My time at Zawadi House Lodge was perfect. It is a very quiet establishment that proved to be a perfect place to recover from my long flights from Melbourne, Australia.
The lodge is nestled in a suburb of Arusha and it is a little piece of paradise. The lush garden keeps the place nice and cool and the furnishings are very comfortable. There were tea and coffee making facilities in my room and the shower was high preasure and very hot (which was ideal). Bed was also very comfortable with lots of pillows.
Breakfast was made fresh to order and was filling and tasty. I also dined in in the evening and enjoyed a variety of local dishes that were enoyable and of good value. Internet was also good, enabling mebto do some work on Xero.
When i wanted to go in to town, staff (the lovely Regina) organised a trustworthy and reliable driver for me.
The city centre is exceptionally busy and I was happy to be in a more peaceful and quiet location on the outskirts.
The staff were all professional, friendly and exceptionally helpful.

The grounds and common areas at the Zawadi House are absolutely beautiful, So peaceful and green. The rooms are average but definitely comfortable. Additionally the breakfast was great and included a small buffet of starters plus made to order eggs, etc. we enjoyed our 1 night stay here (before our safari) very much m.

Friendly staff, problems with safe lock, water supply and electricity outages. Very quiet and conveniently located. No place to sit in the garden, no lawn furniture.

Wonderful place and fantastic food. We had to find a place to stay before an early AM flight and they were even able to arrange for a 4AM transfer to the airport. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had a great stay at the Zawadi house. We were met at the reception by Yvonne, Nicholas, and Afti. We felt welcomed instantly. They did everything they could to make her stay comfortable and succeeded at every turn. I highly recommend this hotel and it's staff. If I get back to Arusha I will certainly stay there again.

It was too overpriced for the room we got and for it’s 4-star renown. It needs renovation, specially the bath. Otherwise it has warm water, ok wi-fi. The staff are helpful to arrange a taxi.

Property is run down. It’s not what it looks like in the pictures. Also the reviews for this property appears to be bogus.
In the USA this property would get a 1 star rating. No microwave or refrigerator in the room.

Great and unique environment. Fantasticx friendly staff. Rooms have essential amenities like USB port charging. Only drawback would be its location, which is a bit out of the town and away from key locations in town.

Tranquil Tropical Hideaway
Cozy secluded tropical lodge filled with welcoming staff who clearly took pride in their lodge and their country. Edwin the driver and guide went out of his way to help us feel welcome and assisted us to recover our lost luggage with his persistence in calling the airline as well as making a special trip to rendezvous with our suitcases on the way to safari. Lucky welcomed us warmly and managed the details of our staff and communications efficiently. Victor kept our room clean and comfortable as we rested during the rain and recovered from jet lag. Eric feed us well morning and evening! Do not miss his delicious chicken soup! We hope to return soon.

Stayed here in total 2 night, the night before and after the safari. It is ok to stay here, but I do not recommend anybody to eat dinner here, because the service is to be honest really bad and terribly slow (over an 1 hour to get the food)

They were very acommandating on check out time and were very friendly. Nice place in a area that I was unsure of but turned out very well with making new friends that showed us the neighborhood.

Fantastic stay, great price. The staff there all went out of their way to help us and emanated the friendliness and smiling culture of all the Tanzanian people we met. Especially shout out to Emanuel and Edward at the front desk, and the chef who made sure we were all fed. Don’t expect the expedient service you’re used to in the western world. But does it matter when you’re on holiday? It’s made up for by the attention and care and the way they all want to ensure you have the best experience of their country.

The staff here were lovely, couldn’t do enough for you. The grounds were lovely and we had a good meal. The room was a bit run down but clean. It’s off the main road a bit and a good bit outside of Arusha. It suited us fine as we were getting taxi to the airport the next morning but the road from the main road to the hotel isn’t really a road. Very basic accommodation (by western standards) and comfortable.

I am telling you this little hotel is like finding Shangri-La!!! Everything about this jewel of a hotel in Arusha was amazing! The friendly, courteous & helpful staff was by far the biggest asset at Zawadi House Lodge. The room was perfect, cozy and clean. The food was extraordinary and creatively prepared. I had the receptionist find me a driver (Emmanuel) to take me to Arusha National Park to climb Mt Meru for a day hike. Emmanuel helped speed up my paperwork and before I knew it I was on a walking safari looking at giraffe, zebras, African buffalo etc.. It was the best day in Africa to have the Zawadi house arrange for my big adventure!!! I hated to check out. The whole staff came to say good-bye with a fun photo session before I left. I would highly recommend the Zawadi House Lodge to anyone!!!

This hotel is a great choice if you need to bridge your stay between the arrival/departure of your Safari. It is close to the airport, the price is very reasonable and is absolutely clean and comfortable. The staff was amazing, and the hotel counts with a good restaurant an a bar.
The road from the main road to the hotel is unpaved and in bad shape, but don't be afraid, the hotel is very clean. I definitely recommend this hotel.

This was a nice hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good; we didn't want to wait until the restaurant opened at 1930 to order our food, as we wanted to get to bed early and they were happy to let us eat earlier. They provided us with a menu shortly after check-in and we let them know what we wanted and the time we wanted to eat.

On entry through the gates it looks like a very smart house, rather than hotel. It is deceptively large but has a very homely, quiet feel and there is a pretty garden at the front and courtyard beyond the reception area. The ensuite rooms are immaculate, attractive and v.well appointed but not huge.The beds are super-comfy and the staff very welcoming and helpful. The internet connection is erratic unless you use the modem - which is shared with other guests. The electricity went off a few times in the night - a bit of a pain as I needed to pack for early start the next day.
In all, I would highly recommend the hotel, particularly if you have the energy to go into town for supper.
