The hotel is abnormally dark- service level by calling room service or concierge is a coin toss if someone picks up. We called for 5 days straight for extra towels, and not once it was delivered. Rooms are super dark and absolutely not kid-friendly. Be ready for hot water to run out and cockroaches and raccoons to visit your room throughout your stay. We are never staying here again. And for the price you pay, as if you’re in Beverly Hills 5-star resort, the food is half okay. We are not staying here ever again.

We had the ocean front suit, #105. We immediately noticed a very strong foreign smell all throughout the room. It smelled a bit like moth balls. After a day I realized they had used old railroad ties for the front door and the bathroom counter and other elements in the suite. Railroad ties are soaked in creosote which is a toxin and known carcinogen and should NEVER be used indoors for construction. Then we started smelling strong sewer smell. It was coming from the drain in the shower. So half the time it smelled like a cesspool and the other half like a toxic factory. We had to keep all the doors to the outside open the entire time. I called the manager about 5 times to come to the room so I can show him person the issues. He finally showed up and agreed with everything and said he would “do something for us”. We had the second most expensive room. I paid average of $1250 per night! So when I went to check out I asked what they “did for us” to compensate for the room filled with toxic carcinogenic material and the lady looked at me blankly. A different manager was there and I again voiced my concerns to him. He started fiddling with the computer and said the best he could do was take 20% off the food bill. I kept pressing him and explaining our horrible experience in the room and in the end “all he could do” was give me a $133 discount off my entire stay which was well over $7,000 total. I was shocked. I will never be back to Nomade or their property next door, Be Tulum.

Hotel is great right on the beach. We took a tent room in the jungle and came back at night to find our room being ransacked. Y what I can tell were raccoons who stole all our duty free chocolates from our luggage which we found quite hilarious. What I didn’t like was the hotel didn’t give us a late check out after I did request in advance and they hotel was clearly not full I feel they just didn’t want to.

This was probably one of my least favorite resorts that I stayed at and I love to travel. I sent a message through hotels.com, emailed and called to book airport transportation and the hotel never answered the phone or emails so I was not able to book a shuttle to the hotel. I called when I arrived and they said there was nothing I could do because I needed to reserve in advance and I stated that I tried several times and it was like oh well. Trying to book a ride when I leaving was also a hassle but decided not to use them because the price is $120 for one way and that is pretty pricey. The first room I stayed in, room 11, the room had a moldy smell to it and come to find out it’s because of excess water. There was a leak from the ceiling causing water to be all over the floor so I had to have maintenance come in and out for that. The entry sliding door did not lock so someone had to come fix it. They fixed it and I ended up being stuck in the room and couldn’t get out and had to come fix it again. The door also did not close all the way so bugs were a problem. The room 11, was also right in front of the restaurant and next to music speakers, they are also really close to the room, so it was not comfortable hearing music all day. The second room they moved me to, room 7, had the same moldy smell, and this room door did not close all the way either. There were lots of ants in the bed so my legs were severely bitten etc, and it was just an overall unpleasant stay.

Dreamiest, most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed. From Hectors incredible service at front desk, down to the restaurants and the beach club. Everything was perfect. I’ll never stay anywhere else in Tulum!

Check in was not very smooth, I had to wait 20 minutes until someone could take care of my check in.
Once I checked in, the bellboy guided me to my room, he was very nice, once in the room there was no indication about what number to call for the front desk, wifi info, room number (it wasn't visible at night when I arrived). The food at macondo is good and I like the vibes, but it is overpriced. Staff in general is either super nice or completely ignore you.
The bathroom floor (outside) has very rough pebbles.
The room and aesthetic is very cool though! The beach is absolutely beautiful.
Its a good stay but could for sure be better.

Nestled amidst lush greenery, Barefoot the hotel offers an unparalleled wellness retreat that beautifully connects guests with Mother Nature. From the moment you arrive, the serene environment envelops you, providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The hotel is both luxurious and eco-friendly. Rooms are designed to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings, featuring large windows that let in ample natural light and provide stunning views of the landscape. The decor is minimalistic yet elegant, using sustainable materials that add to the overall sense of harmony with nature.

Nômade is my favorite hotel in tulum, the staff are absolutely amazing, Armando, Jorge and Javi went above and beyond to help us during our stay. The food is incredible, a bit expensive but worth it, the staff at all restaurants are super friendly and polite, yoga classes and healing sessions are also fantastic. A lot of activities for kids!

Loved the resort, the staff, and the vibe. The only reason I might think twice before I book my next trip there is the restaurants on the resort. Although, the food was very good, the prices are outrageous. Everything is very overpriced. I paid $125 USD for a small piece of steak! And a $100 USD for one fish.

If you’re into nature this is the place to stay. I stayed in the tent room and it was very nice. Staff was on point and very helpful. Everyone was very friendly.

terrible customer services and zero amenities in the room. impossible to get a cup of coffee before 730 am and bad attitude from most of the employees. would never go back.

property is unique and great beach however the customer service was awful. one time i even asked for a smile from the receptionist and his answer was " what can i do for you" in a serious tone. there is no where in the hotel to get a coffee before 730 am, the attitude to everything is no first then if you insist and beg there might be a yes. a few people left early as it was very negative energy and you felt ripped off. You could not pay me to go back. shame as the beach is quiet beautiful.

Although there are still a few things nomade can work on, (bfast included rooms must still pay $2 gratuity charge, no one keeping the peddlers/mariachi bands away from lounging beach guests, no one patrolling grounds overnight for noisy overserved guests, WiFi/phones unreliable ), this resort gets a solid A.
The staff are unquestionably the kindest, most professional, conscientious people and always go the extra mile. The food is delicious, fresh and takes the words locally sourced very seriously. I will return again and again. Tropical Fenix and Philippe deserve recognition-one of the best massages I’ve ever received.

I loved our stay at Nomade. The property is beautiful and has a relaxing vibe. Clientele is a bit older that other Tulum hotels, 40 and no parties on site. The restaurant is great and is on the beach. You can also checkout Be Tulum next door which is the sister property.

Definitely coming back next year.
