Great Location, easy walking distance to main street

We had a fantastic stay at this gorgeous boutique hotel right in Franschhoek. The staff was so lovely and friendly, helped with reservations and recommendations for the area. The laid out breakfast was fantastic too. Comfy and cosy beds - we could have stayed in there nice and warm for ages!

Modern facilities within a charming property, with retained period features. Perfect location, in a quiet street with a very short walk to all the shops & restaurants. Outstanding staff. Wonderful food & drink. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The suite was very comfortable with a good size bedroom and nice sitting room. Breakfast was very good with a variety of food options. The location is on a quiet street but still very close to the main street in town. The staff was very helpful and the owner present on site. He was able to give us advice on a nice wine farm walking tour and suggestions for travel to our next stop. We indefinitely will stay here again on our next trip to Franschhoek.

Amazing place to stay, rooms are beautifully decorated with art and furniture. The personal level of service was exceptional, this was our favourite place to stay on our 2 week trip in SA. The guest house is perfectly located a brief 5 min walk from the town, which has lots of lovely independent restaurants and shops. We have already recommended to friends and family, and will definitely be back!

This is a gem of a place. Very close to centre. The rooms are simply stunning. Most comfortable bed so far on our trip. The breakfasts served on the Terrace are amazing. Tim and his wife couldnt be more welcoming. A lazy afternoon round the pool was greatly appreciated and we were brought complimentary glass of wine. Nice touch.

Great stay!! Friendly hosts, very accommodating. Staff are exceptional at service. Views are incredible. Highly recommended. Small drawback is that parking, although safe, is outdoors.

The property is very meticulously appointed down to small detail. The bed linen was best we have encountered, breakfasts to die for and an exceptional staff.

Great location, lovely guest house with a great team led by Tim and Nadine. They really couldn't do enough for us! Tim's restaurant recommendations were fantastic. Our suite was large but cosy, bright, clean, private and well stocked. There was a lovely leafy garden and pool area to relax with a glass of wine. Other highlights include onsite parking, great breakfast and bikes to hire. We were only a short walk from the town's shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. We'd highly recommend Ashbourne House to other couples, singles and small groups

A lovely get house with high quality rooms within a short walk of the town centre. The staff and owners were lovely, very helpful and friendly. The pool area and garden were well kept with ample parking. Breakfast was lovely on the porch with a wide selection and delicious omelettes. i would highly recommend and will stay again.

Beautiful bed and breakfast with very helpful and friendly owners

This place is a gem. Super smart, enormous room with beautiful furniture. Attention to detail is faultless. Really friendly hosts, relaxed and had a nice chat, lots of information at hand if you need it, none of it is foisted on you if you don't. Offered a glass of wine by the pool which was a lovely touch. Honesty bar in the room. Beautiful pool area - even better than the photographs. Breakfast was excellent. Our only regret is we only stayed one night, we wished we could have stayed longer.

Franschhoek itself was beautiful, stunning scenery and a really relaxed place. Our upstairs room at Ashbourne House was lovely and the staff were friendly, however we did not appreciate being ‘told off’ by the owner Tim for missing a dinner reservation - it was not intentional, it was our anniversary (they didn’t even acknowledge it despite being told on booking) and we were doing the wine tram (enough said), that made us feel quite uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. The milk in the room fridge was off and not replaced the whole stay and stank (looked more like bubbling yoghurt).The ‘designer’ toiletries were really not designer at all and the same disfigured plastic bottle was filled each day. The place was comfortable though and the breakfast was adequate and there was a log fire burning in the breakfast room which was nice. Some of the guests had their cars broken into while parked there, so something to be aware of if you are driving.

One of the nicest place I've been to. The room was huge, very clean, the bed was so comfortable and the shower was great. Awesome breakfast. The whole staff was wonderful. Last but not least, great location!

Good service! We were very happy that we Could left our luggage on the last day in the B&B. In that case we could visit town and the wine estates.

Charming boutique style mini-hotel in ideal location. The German owner/managers are not only highly efficient but show a real interest in ensuring their guests make the most of their time in Franschhoeck. Would, and indeed have, recommended Ashbourne House to others.

Lovely guest house. Ideal location for walking into town to visit shops and restaurants. Comfy beds, clean rooms, lovely friendly staff. Our room was by the pool which meant that it could be a bit noisy at times from other guests so if you want peace and quiet, then ask for a room away from the pool area.

This is a small guest house very conveniently located just a few minutes away from the main area of Franschhoek. The owners are very friendly, they go out of their way to be helpful and we had excellent recommendations from them for local restaurants. Couldn't fault this place at all!
