Great position near the marina. Wonderful views over the sea. Noemi could not have been more helpful, directing us to the parking just outside the hotel, giving us a coffee on arrival, recommending excellent restaurants for dinner and breakfast and what else to see in Syracuse. Tradtional style bedrooms with a big comfy bed and modern bathrooms - just need a couple of pictures on the wall...

Convenient location to visit sites

This hotel is in perfect location in order to visit Ortigia but also the archeological site of Siracusa on the other side of the bridge.

The location is perfect for a Catania visit. You are right in the centre of everything. The suites are an oasis of peace amongst the bustle of the city. Luca is a great host and Agata provides great service! Great place to stay

View was fabulous and recommendations for meals were perfect.

Good things : excellent location close to the marina and the central area of Ortigia. Room was comfortable and fine for our one night stay. The sole receptionist ?Laura helped us with our parking crisis as we could not find our car park we had chosen to avoid the ZTL and ended up entering it. Things to know before booking: you need to be able to carry your own bags upstairs as there is no elevator and no assistance available. You need to make an arrival appointment time as the staff member is not on site. There is no usable fridge in the room for guests' drinks or any complementary water. Breakfast starts at 0815 and there is no flexibility in this, but as it is an extra charge you can choose to go to many nearby cafes instead. We were happy with this property for a one night stay.

It was fantastic

Beautiful location! Right on the water, right in the historic wall. EVERYTHING was in walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! A/C was fantastic, which is so nice after a hot day of walking around and site seeing. No elevator, but we didn't mind. The bathroom was very nice. Only one suggestion - a full length mirror would be nice for getting dressed for dinner. There was only the mirror in the bathroom, That's my only "complaint."

Prime location. Easy parking, then walkable to all the major sites, restaurants, shopping areas, and more. Classically beautiful rooms are well-maintained and offer the right amount of space for living and sleeping while enjoying Ortigia. Updated bathrooms with a great shower and bidet to stay clean in the hot weather! Staff was friendly, communicative, and helpful. Felt very safe in Ortigia in general, and the entrance/location of the B&B reinforced that feeling by being off the main drag. Logistically this is excellent if you have a car so you are not navigating the winding, tight streets of the island - very close to the northern entrance to the island so you can avoid traffic in the main square. Would come back to stay and next time, for longer at the B&B Porta Marina Ortigia!

The upstairs suite is incredible with a patio overlooking the harbour/water….high top table and chairs would make it even better 😎

Wonderful view from a very comfortable room. Quiet yet central, and spectacular sunsets make the place glow. Good restaurants nearby, and sunset cocktails on the seafront 100m away. Thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

We had 'Romantic Suite" on the top floor with a large sea view terrace. The room is beautiful and what a view of the harbor to enjoy every morning and night! Simona is a wonderful host and helped us with restaurant recommendations and any other questions that we had. The location is perfect, close to the harbor, main pedestrian area, restaurants, shops & Piazza Duomo. We absolutely loved our stay here!

We stayed 2 nights in Siracusa and we didn’t want leave especially because of simona. By the time we arrived, simona welcomed us with warm and smiles (behind the mask :)) and along our staying we felt at home. She is one of the most kind and generous person we ever met. The hotel is beautiful and clean, vintage designed. located in the center and near the marina. And the breakfast (omg)- the most delicious we ever eat! Thank you for an unforgettable experience.

The B&B is situated next to a beautiful marina where you can walk to any of the attractions in Siracusa/Ortigia. The room was beautiful and cleaned to a high standard everyday. Towels changed daily. Breakfast was a lovely mix of cheeses, meats, breads and fruits. But the star of the show was the owner Samona, she could not do enough for us on our trip. Even before we had set off from Edinburgh she had booked us a taxi so we arrived safely. Every morning we chatted about what we would like to do and Simona would get right onto organising what we needed. She went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay possible.

This was the best place we stayed. The owner provided individual attention through regular email contact before check in, personal welcome with desserts and coffee, information and suggestions about where to eat and what to see. The breakfast was so sumptuous we only wished we could have eaten it all. The location is ideal for visiting the area and the parking is directly across the street and inexpensive.

We cannot say enough good things about this stay. Simona provided extraordinary hospitality, from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed. Great advice for what to do in town; really helped us make the most of a very short stay. Lovely breakfast and a truly warm atmosphere. The place is lovely and Simona is truly kind. Helped to make parking easy (or as close to easy as you can get in Ortigia) and got us a reservation at a fantastic local restaurant. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Truly one of the best hotel/b&b stays of our lives.

We are world travelers two months of the year. We have been to Ortigia Syracuse Italy two times in the last five years 10 days each and have stated various properties. We highly recommend this BB Porta Marina: - location, view of sea, large outdoor terrace - beds/pillows perfect medium firm unlike others - incredible variety,homemade breakfast,squeezed juices But most of all, I want to commend Simona. She sets the Gold standard of service excellence that others can only aspire to. A big smile, passionate about her service , A problem solver and so responsive. She even allowed us to contact her on travel issues long after staying at her tremendous property. Let me say that three other properties we stayed at both hotel and BBS we’re not as good as BB k Marina... either the beds or too hard and you do wake up with a backache, breakfast poor, not personable service.

B&B Porta Marina Ortigia was outstanding on all fronts. The top floor suite was superb, the location, breakfasts and everything about our stay was exceptional.

This B & B was wonderful from the first time I was contacted by Simona to arrange our arrival. Parking was easily secured and only one street away from the B & B, we were greeted by Simona and given fresh juice on arrival. We quickly checked in, Simona gave us a map of the city and gave wonderful recommendations. Our room was small, but very clean and beautiful touches. We only slept in the room and spent all our time exploring the city. The room was air conditioned which we appreciated. For the rest of our stay we walked easily everywhere in Ortiga. Very beautiful city and very friendly people. Breakfast is buffet style with an incredible selection of the juiciest fruits, yogurt, granola, meats, cheeses, and pastries. You MUST try the cassata! All in Sicilian tradition. Simona fresh squeezed our orange juice and made our cappuccinos. And when my husband became ill during our trip, they sent his breakfast tray to our room. Overall a truly wonderful experience and I would certainly stay again, many times.

Very easy Walk out the front door up the lane & you are in the main pedestrian area for great restaurants, shops & Piazza Duomo. Less than 2 mins and the other bonus you are right on the Harbour.. just perfect and magic sunsets Now for the divine B & B Porta Marina, run by the owners Simona and her husband who did most of the restoration. We had 'Romantic Suite, Terrace, Sea View, top floor with a huge roof terrace . The room is exactly as the photos show on the web. Very comfy 4 poster bed, great pillows, lovely linen, good storage, bathroom was good size for an old building, beautiful white fluffy towels, nice toiletries. - I loved this room We had our breakfast each day on our terrace Our sincere thanks to the lovely young girl that climbed the stairs to deliver us, fresh coffee, delicious fresh ripe fruit, pastries, cold meats, cheese etc etc a feast - we could have eaten downstairs in the beautiful reception/breakfast area. Simona is a delightful, thoughtful, caring host .. she wants you to enjoy your stay not only at her B & B but also Ortigia & surrounds. Wonderful restaurant recommendations, organised transfers for us. Was in touch by 'whatsapp' before we arrived. Greeted us as if we were family. I can highly recommend this B & B and only wish we had stayed longer than 2 nights
