The vacation rental was beautiful. We loved going in the hot tub after a long day in town. I would recommend this location to anyone

We loved our stay. The property was clean and very well appointed. Beds were extra comfy and it was a short bike ride to beaches, shops and town. Would definitely stay again.

Skylight cottage is a light and airy, well equipped 3 bedroom house about 2 km from Tofino. We loved being able to walk to the beach from the house and being walking distance to Tofino. The hot tub was a nice bonus and the outdoor shower would be great for surfers . Tofino was under water restrictions so we didn’t use the outdoor shower when we were there. You can also walk to a coffee shop and the famous Tacofino from the house. The check in and check out process was easy and we loved our stay. Hire some bikes and ride the bike path right past the house. Thanks!

Pros: Lovely linens, beds, lotions, shampoo, well stocked kitchen, well built and designed home, amenities were solid too. Cons: On arrival there was a broken septic pipe and backyard was filled with puddles of solid sewage and smelled like poo. We felt this was a health hazard. I contacted the property management company 20min after arriving. We were asked to use as little water as possible to not cause a back up into the house. The first day we didn't shower, wash dishes, or flush unless it was an emergency. The septic was not fixed until after 3pm the next day. As the organizer of our family trip this made for an extremely stressful start. It meant many calls and texts with property management company, speaking with contractors on the property to diagnosis the problem, and also try and keep everyone having fun without water and sanitation. For the inconvenience the owners only compensated us $300. That's less than the 50% of the total cost of night 1. I tried to repeatedly escalate to try and convey what I have written here to resolve this w/o a review - but I was told they wouldn’t negotiate. There were good things about this property but they were overshadowed by the first day, and especially the lack of regard by the owners to rectify the experience. We plan months in advance for this trip each year with family flying in from across the country. There’s lots of places to stay in Tofino. It’s not where I will book again.

Our stay at the Skylight Cottage was perfect. The property is perfectly private while being centrally located. The cottage was beautiful with all the amenities. The kids loved their rooms and being able to have a little room to play outside. However, we were so close to all the amazing beaches, shops and restaurants we spent most of our time exploring.

Everything was fit for royalty. It was really cozy and clean. The only problem was that the front door wouldn’t lock from the outside
