I loved every second of the stay from when I showed up to the front desk peeps and more. Tremendous location and room was great, spacious and even had a little fireplace! BUT we were on the first floor and we could every word, creek, step, door and movement from our people above. Like unimaginably thin floors so be sure to get the top floor or you won’t sleep.

Room was great, we stayed on a very warm day and room was really warm ,had to leave front door and patio door open to cool it down till after 9pm. Didn't have fans from staff. Would be nice if had screen doors for front and patio.

The hotel location was great for walking distance of everything downtown. The little sandwhich/bodega next door was convenient for dinks and snacks. Just a quick drive to most places by uber or lyft. Only negative is not having AC. Ask for a fan if you are coming from the southeastern coast- 75 is too hot to not have AC.

Very pleasant stay. Next to Carmel village.

Carmel Bay View Inn, while not a 4- or 5-star hotel, was fabulous. The beds were very comfortable. The room was VERY clean (which is my #1 priority). The service was nice. They offered coffee, tea and hot chocolate. The breakfast was good. I enjoyed the video of the Monterey Bay Aquarium in the Breakfast room. My only issue was the Wi-Fi was spotty. Will stay there again.

Had an ocean view room that was nice. Kind of hot when the sun was shining on it.

An older property in very good condition. Rooms are very nice. Breakfast has hot eggs and sausage as well as the typical continental, and the eggs were quite good. The bed was comfortable and the shower was not to bad also. The rate was very fair and we would definitely stay again.

No air conditioning The walls are paper thin and we could hear noises from other rooms and from the street.

excellent location, staff exceptional, don’t bother with a rollaway bed-very uncomfortable put mattress on floor. needs lighting in/by area by outside bathroom/closet. price i got for expedia and bill from hotel quite a bit different with no explanation. breakfast hit n miss.

We enjoyed staying here, everything was within walking distance. There was no AC however the weather was perfect and we opened up a window and we were fine.

the premises are very clean and parking was easy. The room had been recently refurbished and bathroom was very clean - no mold smell, which can be a problem on the coast. Close to shopping/restaurants/beach. Point Lobos is just up the road. Helpful and friendly staff in the breakfast area and the main office. Would stay here again.

The property is very, very clean, and the location couldn't be better. Beware, walls are painfully thin so make good friends with your neighbors. I would recommend however, because, again it's appropriately priced for Carmel and the location is fantastic!

Great place to stay in Carmel-by-the-Sea! They claim to be a “basic motel” but in all honesty the rooms are quite large, beds are comfy, washroom and shower are a good size and have everything you need, and the place was clean. Free breakfast is great, parking is on site and easy, and the hotel is centrally located and only a few minutes walk from restaurants. Small downside is no AC; that being said, you don’t really spend your day in the hotel room, and at night Carmel cools down quite a bit, so AC was never needed anyways. Would highly recommend staying here if looking for a more affordable option in Carmel without sacrificing location and cleanliness.

Attentive staff, very clean and lovely room. Only downside was how loud the pipes were when someone ran a shower otherwise wonderful .
