Good location and friendly reception staff but housekeeping very poor. Did nothing other than make the bed. Rubbish not taken, nothing wiped down. Water not replenished (perk of superior room but had to ask reception ourselves each day). Room also very small for a ‘superior room’

Good friendly check in, room clean and tidy. Bathroom needs some attention, towel rail fell to bits and there was no obvious extraction of steam. The room for us was too warm overnight. Breakfast good.

The staff were without exception very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was that it was not made clear that the parking advertised was in the adjacent multi-storey car park and cost £10 per 24 hours. Other than that Chester itself was fantastic and the choice of places to eat immediately across the road or adjacent to the hotel itself were extremely good. Everything was only a short walk away.

Overall, this hotel was great; the location was good, the room was clean and the restaurant staff and breakfast were both excellent. My only criticisms are the fridge in the room did not keep anything cool - when we reported it, we were told it was a ‘common problem with all the fridges’; and a couple of the Reception staff, although not overtly rude, were definitely quite brusque. But I would still recommend this hotel based on its location, price and room & restaurant facilities

A very good quality (city break) hotel, well positioned for visiting central Chester. We booked three rooms for our family visit and all were functional and spotless. Public areas are comfortable and well designed. Breakfast was great! Would definitely recommend.

Great location, big room, friendly staff, parking nearby in Grosvenor shopping centre, reasonable price.

We took our 11 year old grandson to Chester for 4 nights and stayed at this hotel. From the moment we entered we were greeted by really nice, friendly and helpful staff and this remained the case for the whole stay. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with complimentary tea, coffee etc. It was cleaned daily and the tea and coffee were replenished. We did not eat at the hotel as we were out and about every day so I can not comment on that. However we would certainly use a Lonardo's Hotel again

Expedia made a mistake and despite us booking for 3, they only booked a double Room for us. The hotel staff were amazing and pulled out all the stops despite the hotel being fully booked to ensure we were accommodated. Will book direct next time. Staff were so friendly and helpful all weekend, breakfast was lovely Will book again
