I had a very pleasant time staying at the Northern Charm Hotel. 1.The room design is great with everything needed 2.The staff were very friendly and accommodating. 3.There were a variety of food and beverage options for breakfast. One minor downside is that there's a building right next to the room I stayed in so I didn't have a city view from the window. But this didn't take away from the overall positive experience I had.

Got the worst room in the hotel. Hallway was hot and smelly. Do not trust the pictures in Expedia… it’s not the same as you check into the hotel. Thank God it’s only for one night.

I stayed at the Northern Charm Hotel from 12/19 until 1/8 and had a pleasant time. The staff made me feel welcome and were attentive; especially the front desk and housekeeping service were efficient. The rooms were spacious, and the location was really convenient, you can walk to many good restaurants, cafes, and spa shops in the Japanese town. The only thing that was a little annoying was some of the rooms were under renovation, which sometimes made my room a bit noisy in the morning. Having said that, if you get out early that wouldn’t be a big problem. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting HCMC downtown.

The service was great, the room was clean, like our bed and the breakfast is the best. We enjoy our stay, definitely recommend.

We did really appreciate the pool on the 17th floor. It was lovely to be able to chill, usually completely by ourselves. The breakfast in the Panorama restaurant on the 16th floor was ok, but not wow. There was an omelette station, but we felt it catered more for Asian tastes. Staff were slow to replenish plates of fruit when it ran out, and the air conditioning failed to cool the restaurant sufficiently. The 17th floor comprises the Attic Bar, pool and seating. Approximately 2/3 of the space could be considered to be indoors, by virtue of the 18th floor above, and the rest is in the open air. What really annoyed us was that smoking was allowed anywhere on this level. Other small but annoying things were the miniscule containers of shower gel and shampoo provided. Given we were showering at least twice a day, for two fully grown adults there simply wasn't enough. The fridge in the room has a glass door with a light inside, which means that at night you have to cover it with a towel to stop it lighting up the room. The hotel does not have enough umbrellas for the number of guests on a wet Saigon evening. Other hotels we have stayed in provide one or even two in the room. Here the concierge has a limited supply. Overall we felt the hotel was aiming to cater for the Asian business market rather than Western tourists.
