My wife and I always try to stay at the Shinola when we come to Detroit. It never disappoints. Great location, service and amenities.

We stayed for a wedding hosted at Shinola. We were very pleased with the accommodations, food and beverages, and the courtesy and efficiency of the hotel staff. We would definitely stay at Shinola for future visits to Detroit.

Beautiful hotel. Staff was great: friendly and helpful. But too many strange incidents. The elevator went down and didn’t work for two days causing lines and gluts when trying to go both up and down. The lobby is beautiful and my wife and I wanted to get a drink and sit in the lobby sitting area and chat one evening. But a family had hijacked the whole room. Their kids were running around and screaming as if they were in a playground making it impossible to sit there. The desk clerk gave us a free bottle of champagne, apologized and asked us to drink in our room. We were surprised that they let these wild kids take over the whole lobby. At breakfast one morning there was a large piece of paper In my yogurt. I fished it out and showed it to the waitress who was embarrassed and apologized, saying it was from the container and had fallen into the yogurt. She brought me a new one. Very strange stuff for a hotel that has such a high class reputation. These are things you’d expect at a cheap motel.

Loved The hotel. They gave us complimentary champagne upon arrival. Rooms were clean. Building has great architecture. Had breakfast included in the rate. Fantastic experience. Would highly recommend

We love your hotel and have stayed with you a few times and have one future date at the moment. The attention to detail is awesome. Our recent room seemed to be showing some signs of wear. The bed had a hump in the middle and pronounced depressions on both side. The sofa was a bit saggy. The bathroom and shower were excellent and things were very clean.

Lovely hotel although our daughter's room, while the same price, looked out on an alley and dumpster. The man who checked us in never said that a refundable 200/room would be added so i had to question it. And the valet people were very slow and unhelpful.

Great location right downtown. Everybody from the valet to maintenance to front desk is extremely professional. It is obvious that the company philosophy is known by all and implemented.

Everything was wonderful. The bar staff at San Morello was a bit rude Saturday evening. Hotel was amazing and hotel staff was great.

This is a beautiful hotel, no doubt! The attention to details did not go unnoticed. From the MCM furniture, arched doorways to the smaller tbhnfs like dimmers on the lights— you simply can’t argue this place is worth the price (which is very reasonable considering its location!) The valet was so personable and really took the stress off finding suitable parking. We only stayed for one night, but it was a very comfortable stay. We will be back!

Incredible hotel with excellent service

Best part was meeting Usher in the elevator after seeing him in concert the night before. The restaurant was great too as we enjoyed dinner and breakfast. We will be back!

One of the best hotels I have stayed at. Nothing to complain about and staff was exceptional.

The wife and I stayed here for a quick date night in the city. The hotel is in the best location, located near all of the great bars and restaurants.
