13 hour stopover at airport, so stayed at hotel overnight. Smelt odd when entered room, at front of building, but was big, spotless & same with bathroom. Good idea to have basin outside bathroom. Decor is more European, but nice. Staff pleasant. Didn't eat there as restaurant looked like private party, not much around outside, but we didn't starve for one night. Had breakfast in business lounge at airport. Both times arranged taxi to airport, as only have shuttle bus to the beach.

1st. night room was at front of hotel, & can see freeway from window & was noisy when bed time & no tv on, & morning, so because staying there again on way home from trip we politely asked reception if they could change our room to back of hotel, so paid more for a 2nd. story court yard/pool view, room & was much quieter. Didn't like powered milk they supplied for tea/coffee, went to shop & bought real milk ! Got caught, as had shuttle bus on website & we thought it was to airport as not that far away.

This hotel is really nice, the staff during check in process were not helpful and kinda rude but the rest of the staff during our stay was amazing and helpful. The place offers so much comfort. The room was comfortable and spacious. The restaurant was pretty good…a little pricy but decent food.

The in-house restaurant unfortunately was closed when we stayed. I wish my bed would have been firmer but the rooms were very comfortable. Great soaking tub.

This property was BEAUTIFUL!! This was our first time staying here and we absolutely enjoyed everything. The gym was fantastic, we did not expect that. The restaurant on site was perfect - the food was sooooo good!! Everyone was very friendly. The junior suite we rented was just perfect and the bed was sooo comfortable! We loved the location - right off the 405 and close to food and shopping, plus it was only a 15 minute drive to Manhattan Beach Pier.

There really wasn’t anything to not like.

the courtyard was a peace oasis in the city. the antiques and artworks were fabulous. rooms large and very comfortable.

The lady at the front desk was very nice and professional. Beds were comfortable. Free parking. Fast and free wi-fi. Pretty roomy except for the bathroom.

Everything was pretty dated, especially the interior. The TV was pretty small and old. The angle of the TV was awkward for sharing between two beds, especially with the divider between the beds. The ceiling light kept buzzing when on. Even though the room was facing the freeway, the room was not well soundproofed and I could hear the cars too well. The bathroom was pretty small and the water pressure was not great. There was an alarm set by the previous guest which went off at 6 and woke us up. The fan was also quite loud. All of this would have been acceptable if the room was not $200 plus tax. I had high expectations due to the high ratings on Bookings.com and Google, on top of the fact that this was apparently a 4-star hotel. I also had had a great experience at another Ayres location. All of this led to a greater letdown. This is the second time I have been let down by the Booking.com reviews. I'll definitely be more cautious next time. Tl;dr: The room was not bad. Just not good for the price.
