During the evening, the smoke alarm started to beep every so often. I called the front desk, and the young gentlemen who checked me in came immediately and put in new batteries which solved the problem for the night. After I was awake in the morning, it started up again. This was not a big problem and I alerted the front desk up an early check out. I also appreciated the receipt under my door overnight. My previous stay in College Station (last month) was at the Hampton Inn and they refused to provide a receipt. My wife, a CPA contacted the hotel subsequently and they promised to send one which they never did. I had to print out part of the credit card statement so I could get reimbursed. So I won't stay there again which is how I came to stay at this Holiday Inn Express instead.

The room. The curtains were broken so the could not be opened properly. The carpet was frayed. There was a bright blue wall at the entrance that did not match everything else. The shower curtain stuck to my leg while showering and water came out of the shower and ran all over the floor. Style wise, I didn’t like the fact there was no door in the sink area. The sleeper sofa appeared to have seen it’s better days. I will not be staying here on my next visit. The elevator floor was dirty and the hallway had a bad odor.
