Very comfortable bed. Within walking distance to downtown and nice restaurants and breweries, however immediate neighborhood might be a bit intimidating. I am OK with it. Proximity to many attractions supercedes off putting 2nd Ave

Motel West is a quick drive to Drake Park and prime Bend downtown properties. It's just off a major commercial strip, so restaurants, fast food, grocery stores and a Walmart were all close by, some within walking distance. Otherwise, the room met my three key needs as it was safe, clean and comfortable.

Bend has it's share of homeless residents, some of whom were camping in tents across from the main driveway. The room had a strong smell of cleaning products, which is both good and bad. I paid in advance through Booking.com, but the front desk person asked how much I was charged, and rang up the fee again. The second charge was refunded, but the situation shouldn't have come up at all.
