Location is superb. Staff very friendly and helpful. Noise levels good. Appliances in the kitchen and bathroom are modern and work well. The facilities are clean and there is a no-shoes policy inside the main building.

Would have liked more space to work/socialise. No space in the room to put bags and other personal items. There were technical difficulties with the building security system that made it difficult to access the building on two occasions.

The attitude towards guests is insanely hostile. The hostel management threatened guests with heavy fines without reason. Even the AC had a sticker on it saying „If you dare touch this, we will fine you up to $1000“. The hostility is completely unprovoked and ensures this hostel has the worst vibe I have ever experienced

The showers. The were clean and nice but barely any water came out of them. Only downside to my stay, however showers are very important to me so had to drop down to 9/10

The free and delicious breakfast is an amazing idea, everyone comes and it’s so easy to meet new people! Also the receptionist that can welcome you in your own language and is super nice was a great first impression.

People that use this hostel as a permanent or temporary residence make the travelers hostel vibe a bit less enjoyable since they tend to not socialize at all, and are not in the usual age average.

O quarto mesmo sendo de hostel, é MUITO APERTADO! Mal tinha espaço para colocar a minha mala pequena de bordo! Consegui encaixar minha mala em pé com a mochila em cima no canto da parede! Para pegar alguma coisa pessoal, eu saia do quarto e abria a mala no corredor! No booking informava que tinha locker, mas eu não consegui chegar nem perto, pois este ficava em frente à um beliche e eu não teria como abrir caso alguém quisesse passar! Eles encaixam um monte de camas onde não cabe nem a metade, só visam o lucro e não importa o conforto do hóspede! A água no banheiro era quase goteira, difícil para lavar o rosto e mãos, escovar o dente e para tomar banho, pior ainda! No banheiro dos homens existiam 3 boxes e formava fila nas horas de rush! Os hostéis de NYC da mesma faixa de preço, como o HI NEW YORK e YMCA parecem até hotéis 4 estrelas se for comparar com esse de Washington D.C. DECEÇPÇÃO TOTAL! NÃO SEI COMO CONSEGUEM UM SCORE TÃO ALTO NO BOOKING!

There are a lot of rats in the backyard in the evening. So you should better stay inside when its getting dark outside.

Good value for money, good location just 5 minutes away from the circulator bus that would take you to all the main attractions, supermarket next door, but very expensive. Restaurants and bars nearby, the lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful, good kitchen, clean common parts and room, free luggage storage, free breakfast, safe neighbourhood, other guest were friendly, good for meeting new people, charging point near the bed, had a good sleep, would stay here again

Nice social atmosphere, great roof terrace, 30 min on foot to the National Mall, 5 min to nearest Metro, and both the pancake breakfast and lovely lady who makes it were delightful!

Internet connectivity is weak. Otherwise, dorms are dorms, so you need to be tolerant with occasional snorers, but I found people respectful. Do put your name on anything you put in the fridge. Some of my articles went missing.

Good location, a 25-minute walk from the National Mall. At first, I didn't like the hostel too much because I arrived at night, and everything was dark, but on the next day, I found the atmosphere to be very friendly. One very good thing is the possibility of leaving your luggage both before checking in and after checking out, which is very useful for tourists.

Nice, kind, welcoming and helpful people at reception. Very well equipped kitchen, it let me save a lot of money. Not best beds I stayed but not the worst either. They changed my mattress for the second night because it had some troubles. Good location, 15 min to subway and 15-20 to white house, both on foot. Good A/C, very well appreciated this time of the year.

The room I stayed was a basement. Looked very claustrophobic. The bathrooms/restrooms were not clean at all. Expensive for what it is. Felt unsafe by the neighbourhood. Nothing bad happened, though.

Can't beat the value. Staff was friendly & helpful. Walk from Union Station & to Smithsonian/Mall area is doable, though long. Free pancakes are delicious. Neighborhood is nicer than I expected

Nobody in DC in general knows where anything is, so do your research ahead of time coffee is free, but awful No shoes policy is a minor nuisance
