Our stay at the villa Borboletta was wonderful. The villa is secluded and not overlooked at all something that is really important to us as a family. A totally different expereince from your typical all inclusive resort holiday, myself and my partner were able to lie on the pool terrace and lap up the sunshine while our children splashed around in the pool and played in the spacious grounds. The villa grounds are well landscaped and the pool a perfect size (albeit a little cold when you first jump in). The villa is very well stocked with all of the essentials you need for self catering and home entertainment system is ideal for those days when the weather is not so great. Just a short and very straightforward drive to all of the supermarketsand restaurants in albufeira - ideally placed. The communication with Carlos was excellent from the start and he quickly resolved a couple of minor issues with minimum fuss. If you are looking for a relaxing break to wind down then this place is for you. We will definitely be looking to return in the future. The Nasser family

We had a number of problems with the property from uncomfortable beds, noisy neighbours and dodgy air-conditioning units. In the main these were resolved quickly by Carlos. However our overall impression is that the villa is very tired and pretty basic. The pool area is good but inside is in need of some TLC. Carlos is also fairly robust in his style and the villa do's and DO NOT,s booklet is something to behold. We had a good time despite all this but we wouldn't go back.

This was our second stay in villa Borboleta and we were a bit worried that we were making a mistake going back to the same place for a second year running but it was even better second time round and we enjoyed our holiday even more. The villa is fabulous - beautifully decorated throughout and extremely good facilities. We especially loved the fact that each bedroom has its own bathroom and there is even a spare one downstairs which is really useful for during the day. Both the lounge and the kitchen give access to the pool area which is where we spent most of the day just lounging around. There are plenty of comfortable sunbeds and a large table and chairs for eating al fresco and the pool is surrounded by the lawn and completely enclosed by some beautiful flowering plants and hedges - we loved the privacy it offered. If you fancy venturing out then you can easily walk to the strip at Prara d'Oura where there are loads of bars and restaurants but quite busy so nice to come back to the calm of the villa too. Quinta da balaia has its own reception and there is also a communal pool area with restaurant and a small but well equipped supermarket within a 5 minute walk. Carlos dealt with our booking on both occasions and he has been so helpful, even arranging a car for us and transfers to and from the airport. I honestly cannot recommend this villa enough nor the service we received from Carlos who has always been on hand anytime we've needed him. Would we go back again for a third time ? Yes, absolutely !!!!

We could not have had an easier booking from start to finish Carlos was more than happy to help with any questions we had , and the taxi service is a must we used it several times to go to the old town or a 15 minute stroll gets you to the livelier strip (senor frogs went down a treat if you like pizzas). The villa is absolutely lovely inside and out and with having a two year old with us the gated grounds were perfect. if we return to Portugal in the future we will certainly return to villa Barboleta or one of the other villas available. My Wife and I with our 2 Adult Children had a super stay here ,the Villa is equipped with all you could wish for and more ,the Bedrooms are a good size with very comfortable Beds ,the Kitchen has all the required Cutlery etc.unlike many villas we have stayed in before, the Lounge has TV ,Music and is huge. The Pool with its many blow-up toys is terrific ,the size is just about perfect. The whole Villa was really clean with good Towels which were changed weekly. No downsides to this place if you are looking for a Villa in Portugal go for this one, you wont be disappointed..

Excellent as usual we have now stayed in 3 of Carlos's properties and all have been as described and more we have enjoyed every stay and Carlos is always available to help with any problems so you can relax and book with confidence we will e back !

The villa was amazing and was well equipped and clean. The pool was private and the outside terrace you could relax in your surroundings, but if you fancied a change, restaurants ,bars, supermarkets and shops were just 15-20 min walk away so the location was the best of both. Our family holiday, first time staying in a villa, I would highly recommend it to families, I'm looking forward to booking for next year. Our children were aged 7 and 10, they loved the pool and we felt safe and secure. We could also recommend Zoomarine and slide and splash. The manager Carlos was fabulous and his customer service was outstanding. Also we chose to use the designated chauffeur service for our days out, and I would highly recommend this service as their service was fantastic and flexible which helps when you have tired children. Overall a fabulous villa and holiday we wont forget.

This was our family's 3rd visit (a party of 6 adults) to Quinta da Balaia & staying in a villa owned by José Carlos. This time we stayed at Villa Borboleta between 8th & 15th October 2016. We found the villa to be well equipped & suited our needs. It has a large comfortable living/dining area, a serviceable kitchen complete with dishwasher, washing machine & small kitchen appliances & 3 large double bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. The villa was maintained well & the pool area was also well looked after with room for al fresco dining, ample room with 6 loungers for sunbathing & cooling off in the pool. The pool was cleaned twice during our stay & housekeeping called once in mid-week. The washing machine was very handy as we were able to launder our towels & clothes when required, letting them dry in the warm Algarve sunshine. On the night we arrived we couldn't get into the safe, however, following a phone call to Carlos the problem was rectified the next morning when Carlos himself arrived & sorted the issue. We also had difficulty with the downstairs WC but again this problem was rectified very quickly by Carlos. The only drawback was needing taxis into Albufeira so would recommend car hire if you intend to get out & about much during your stay. All the financial transactions were completed easily & in a timely manner & the villa safety deposit was refunded inside 2 days of our return home. All in all we had a good stay in the villa & would certainly recommend it. We will be contacting Carlos again when we next visit the Algarve! The Kenny Family, Northern Ireland. Obrigado Carlos!

We absolutely loved this villa and had a brilliant holiday here. The rooms are spacious and each one comes with its own bathroom which we found incredibly useful and there is even an extra loo downstairs too ! The whole villa is beautifully decorated and well set out including a well equipped kitchen with microwave, toaster, cooker, dishwasher (really handy) and even a washing machine plus plenty of crockery and utensils. The lounge area houses a lovely big dining table and sitting area which leads out to the pool area. The pool itself was lovely and wonderfully private with beautiful foliage growing around so that the whole area is not overlooked. I must say that we did actually spend most of our days just lazing around the pool - it was idyllic. If you wanted to venture out then there's a little mini-market just around the corner next to the complex restaurant and communal pool area - vey nice and friendly people too ! We went to Praia d'Oura by taxi which cost around 4 euros and spent hours browsing the many shops bars and restaurants plus the beach there is well worth a vist. This is one of the best holidays we have ever had and I would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone. The whole booking was dealt with so professionally by Carlos who was so helpful and even arranged a lovely welcome pack ready and waiting for us when we arrived. My only regret about this holiday is that we didn't book for longer as we only had a week her but I am already saving for next year. !

Villa could do with some updating as its looking rather tired inside. Cooker only as 1 shelf found cooking a bit trying on site super market shut as it was early season review. Stating nearest super market only 3 mins away near 5-6 mins better to go to Guia where large supermarket and shopping centre also Iceland shop with butchers inside aldi and lidl in Albufeira overall.we had enjoyable time found Carlos very helpful with quick response when needed

The Villa was lovely. The best features about this villa were the huge garden, pool and barbeque. The villa itself was spacious and en-suite bathrooms (with bath) in each of the three bedrooms. The location of the villa was also very good and approximately 15-20 minutes walk to the Strip area where you will find all of the very good restaurants and bars. We would have no hesitation in returning back to Villa Borboleta. Jose Carlos was also very helpful.

Having arrived expecting the villa to be nothing like the photos, we were amazed and thrilled to find Villa Borboleta far exceeded all our hopes. It was clean, everything worked, the wifi was fast! and there was more space than expected. The welcome pack was a nice touch and Carlos has been a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Thanks for everything Carlos. We're about to book again for next year (as are my in-laws!)

The villa exceeded all our expectations and offered us the perfect environment for a brilliant holiday. Our whole experience was seamless from being picked up at the airport to (sadly) being taken to the airport on our return home. The accommodation is of a very high standard and the added convenience of wifi and sound system in all rooms was great. Having a private pool is a must and you will not go back to sharing once you try this. We had a couple of problems and these were very promptly deal with by Hugo in a professional manor. We would highly recommend this accommodation so much so that we are already looking at booking for next year.

First of all would like to give a big thank you to Carlos for arranging this stunning villa, Carlos was superb throughout booking and everything went very smoothly from arranging the transfers and a hire car. The villa itself is beautiful with lovely grounds for our two children to play in. The pool is great and is of a good size. There is plenty of sun loungers and the shaded terrace was great for eating and keeping the kids out of the sun. There is a roof terrace which is lovely but we spent most of our time by the pool. All the bedrooms were great and had on suites. The living area was spacious with cable tv, dvd player and videos which was great for the kids. The kitchen had everything we needed and the dishwasher was a bonus. The wi fi was great so would recommend this. The complex itself is lovely with a mini market which caters for most things and has fresh bread delivered every morning. The main supermarket is about 3 minute drive away and is brilliant. I would recommend hiring a car as we found this to be very easy to get around and explore the beautiful Algarve. There are loads of lovely restaurants within a 15 minute walk and would defiantly recommend a trip to the old town. We went to Falesia beach a couple of times and this was stunning, 15 Euros for two beds and a brolly all day. Overall we were very happy with our stay and cant wait to come back for another visit. I have just been on this site to show one of my friends the villa we will be going to in a few weeks and seen what I would call a very unfair review in my opinion!! This will be our (2 adults 2 children and 2 Grandparents) 3rd time at this villa and the 4th time booking with Carlos. We have had the best holidays ever at this villa and every time we have stayed it’s been clean, tidy and extremely well maintained. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Carlos to sort out. One phone call if ever you need or want to ask him anything, he is on hand every time to see that your holiday is as stress free as possible. We had a car issue last year (our own fault may I say) and Hugo/Carlos sorted it all out within minutes. Everything provided at the villa in our opinion is perfect for your holiday and if there's anything not quite right you only need to make a phone call to Carlos! Couldn't be any easier. Everything written on these Web Pages/pictures is exactly what you get. As for condiments!! I don't see the problem in buying your own, I prefer it. Hinges, toaster, wine glasses and door broken..... How is Carlos supposed to sort this if no one tells him and gives him the opportunity to sort before you include in your review. This is a fabulous villa with amazing pool which we all love very much. I would definitely recommend this Villa to all my friends, family and anyone else.

Arrived here on Sunday Oct. 7th. with my wife & 2 other couples for a one week stay. First impressions found the villa to be quite large with a lovely pool area. My wife & I have stayed in villas in Barbados, Bonaire, Dominican Republic,Jamaica, Mexico & Turks & Caicos. To classify this villa as being a luxury villa is nothing but a joke. The 6 of us had initially given it a 2.2 out of 5 rating, but that dropped considerably after spending a day here. The villa was sparsely furnished with cheap furniture (gymnasium chairs in the dining area), kitchen cupboard door hanging at an angle, credenza door that wasn't attached, shutter door on upstairs bedroom with 2 hinges missing, bed sheets that didn't fit the cheap, hard beds, bathroom tub mats loaded with mold, as were the shower curtains, main floor ensuite had a tub with shower head but no shower rod or curtain, kitchen had a cracked coffee pot along with cracked & chipped wine glasses. There was no actual toaster other than a panini maker which we used as a toaster. This was great if you enjoy flat compressed toast. There were no condiments or spices whatsoever for cooking, not even any salt or pepper. This villa needs some major attention to even bring it up to an average rating, never mind the luxury rating given on this website. Would we recommend this property to a friend or relative? My friends and I stayed from 21st to 27th Oct 2010. The villa was perfect!!! Could not find any fault with it at all, it was like a home away from home!! You do not need to take anything with you as there are books, cd's, dvd's and video's. And the owner also leaves coffee, biscuits, tea, wine and other bits upon your arrival which was a really nice touch. The villa and complex are maintained really well and very clean. It is situated about 15mins walk to the strip where there are shops and reasonable priced restaurants. Overall a great experience and will def be going back there in the future

My family and I have just returned from a weeks stay in Villa Borboleta and I am already looking at booking again for next year!!! The welcome pack on arrival was a lovely touch. The villa is stunning with everything you need. It is clean and modern with maid service twice weekly and gardeners! The villa is very spacious with a fantastic pool and garden. The garden is very private and secure which was great as we have 2 young children. It is within walking distance to Albufeira so we were able to eat out often. I can't recommend it highly enough!

April 2008, a spacious, spectacular villa in a lovely setting. Well equippped, beautifully clean and decorated. Excellent, seamless booking along with good clear deatiled instuctions of how to find the villa from the airport. A little early in the season for the kids as the water parks were not open, but they made great use of the pool! Suit all age ranges Best holiday we have had for years!

Stayed in this villa back in October 2006. The photo's do not do this place justice. Honestly the deco, furniture - Everything is to a high standard. Even down to the surround system that we could have throughout the whole villa, including the area around the pool. States Car recommended but we enjoyed the 5-10min walk. Young Couple with 2 yr old. Just received update from owner, and was suprised no-one had left a review so felt I must. We've been to 2 villa's since and this is always top of the list - Never been able to match it yet.
