The Lily Pond is an oasis of tranquility, the rooms are very spacious and have great amenities. The staff working there were very friendly and helpful, I would highly recommend this place to anyone doing the Garden Route.

Very friendly and attending staff. Ww rented the Suite which was very nice decorated and with comfortable beds. We specifically enjoyed the outdoor shower.

The pool wasn’t that inviting because the water wasn’t clean.

I found there was not enough lighting in the bathroom. I had to plug the hairdryer into the socket in the bathroom as it was the only one near to a mirror.

The location is beautiful. It’s on a country road that leads down to Natures valley. The rooms are set looking at the lily ponds which are beautiful but be prepared as it is a little remote and if you want to go out for dinner in the evening it’s quiet a drive back in the dark. The breakfast was very good, just would have liked it not to have been so rushed, the breakfast staff were lovely but they were bringing the cooked food before you finish the fruit and yoghurt. The seating is outdoors which is very nice.

When we arrived there was no one on reception so we walked in and my husband was greeted with Who are You! There was no information pack in the room but it was bought in later. There was dinner in the evening but very limited choice so we didn’t take it and had to drive out which wasn’t ideal as Lily Ponds is quiet remote. There is a small tv in the room so after going out for dinner we decided to put it on for an hour only to find that it’s disconnected. I asked the owner if someone could help me set it up was told that it was disconnected as there was no call for it! The next morning as we are early risers we made tea from the tea tray only to find that there was no milk. I went to the main building but it was locked and no-one was about. I waited for over an hour and eventually ended up having to drive out to the garage to pick up some milk for my tea. As you can imagine I wasn’t best pleased at not being able to have my tea when I got up. My husband told the owner and her reply was There’s no call for it! No call for milk in the room! Well I’m sorry but there is definitely call for milk with tea in the morning and it totally ruined my whole day. It’s the small things that can totally ruin what should have been a fabulous stay and for us it means that we wouldn’t return. The owner didn’t even apologise to me having to go out and fetch milk. For future visitors also be aware that the dinner is not every night and you may have to drive out for dinner. The menu is limited so you may still have to drive out for dinner. If the owners decide there’s no call for a certain item then it may be missing.

Everything at Lily Pond was superb: warm, friendly owners and staff, beautiful room and grounds and the food was some of the best we’ve had on our trip.

Duvet was very heavy (a minor quibble). I found the room a little dark but some may prefer this. Again a very minor thing and it didn’t detract from our enjoyment.

Niels & Margret are both very friendly. Both the dinners and breakfasts were excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lily Pond. The facilities and rooms are beautiful. We also had dinner there one night, which was delicious.

The property is gorgeous and has stunning views, the restaurant food is of very high quality. The staff incl. the owners are present and are very welcoming and keen to offer local suggestions. I would for sure stay again, we loved everything!

Location was great!

No hot water at night & after a day out exploring tv not working and no DSTV. Also wifi very slow. For a 4 star hotel u expect more.

Most beautiful and tranquil location with the Lily ponds, woods surrounding, mountains and the sea closeby. Breakfast was good and staff very friendly. Dining room where we had dinner beautiful, full of character, with the fire going.

Just keep-up the great work and friendliness.

The peace and quiet was exceptional, the owners were very welcoming and warm. Thank you Niels and Margaret for making our weekend special.
