As always we enjoyed our stay in Porta da mar. We like the high quality large room with its beautiful lamps and view towards San Giorgio and San Marco. We appreciate the fine bathroom, the quiet place in the middle of commotion, its neighbourhood with many places to eat and enjoy a drink, as well as the close stop for the Alilaguna line from and to the airport.

Top location, just a few metres from the Arsenale and a short walking distance from piazza San Marco. Via Garibaldi is around the corner, with lovely bars, cafés, typical osterie and supermarkets.
The room was of good size, spotlessly clean, with a very comfy bed and pillows...so cosy!
Minibar with water and soft drinks, essentials for breakfast... all for free...
Bath towels were replaced daily.
The room service staff was attentive and polite.
Giampaolo (the main host) is courteous, always available for any questions regarding our stay and gave us plenty of recommendations about places to eat and have a nice aperitivo. He also gave us some lovely Venetian biscuits before our departure!
I can't recommend Porta da mar enough. Will definitely come back in future for another lovely stay in the beautiful city of Venice!
With all my efforts, can't find a single fault!

Great location by the waterfront with lots of nearby restaurants to choose from. Great aesthetic and the choice of teas and free breakfast options and cold drinks in the room were very welcoming! The staff were veey friendly and allowed us to pay the tax by card which was very helpful.
The key to the door was a little tricky to use but with some persistence we got there in the end!

Top location, far from the tourist crowds but still easily accessible from the city center. The canal view from our room was breathtaking! Room was spacious and clean. The host was very polite and welcoming, also, thank you for the Venice biscuits!

The property is exceptionally clean. I liked romantic atmosphere in the hall with candles. We found free snacks and a cattle in the room which was very pleasant.
There were problems with the front door but the manager respectfully helped us.

The host was very friendly and flexible to our needs for check-in and check-out. The room was clean, nice and the location was close to main attractions. Also Porta da Mar is close to guided tours to Venice's islands.

Our thanks go to the owner and the staff. It was again a great pleasure staying in this building so well located and well kept. High quality furniture and curtains, nice wooden floor. Beautiful design and sea view in the room with that view possibility, easy checking in, good variety of breakfast alternative and a friendly coffee/croissant bar just below for takeaway. Modern and stylish bathroom. Quiet and in good walking distance. We will certainly come again.

Very nice location and a beautiful view over the canal. Walking distance to everywhere and you can take the boat from the train station till the hotel within 35 minutes.
The staff were very friendly and they gave us some biscuits and simple breakfast was also available in the room (cereal, jam, toast)

The location of this hotel is perfect! Situated right in the heart of Venice, you can surely maximize your stay when in this hotel because most attractions are within walking distance. Spacious rooms and bathrooms that make your stay even more comfortable. The view from our room was peaceful, too.
We stayed on the first floor and there was no lift. A bit of a struggle to go up with a huge luggage so it might not be the best for those with elderly. No 24/7 reception, too, so no one will be there to address any concerns or questions you may have.

This is a real gem in Venice - great location to wander around the city by foot but distant from the crowds, well connected to the airport, Canal Grande, Lido, Murano, Burano, etc. Very polite and helpful staff, beautiful comfortable rooms and a window view to die for.

Location of this property is amazing. Everything was clean and the shared balcony was lovely. Internet and aircon worked perfectly and the bed was very comfy.
Our room was a tad bit small to put our stuff, but it did fit a king size bed. Also, other properties in Venice also tend to be rather small, so this is just something that you have to understand about Venice. Also, no elevator so keep that in mind - but again buildings in Venice often come without one. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
