The check in was very crowded due to a long week end. Amazingly a very pleasant GRO (Ms. Bawanthi) walked up to me and got all the paper work done/signed and took away that 'checking in Stress'. She was very professional and had a sweet smile and had a charming way of handling all things. The feeling of relaxation was instant. That gives us a high confidence of the property. the food was great and had a good spread. A big thanks to all the staff of this property. Highly recommend Tangerine for a relaxing stay for a weekend.

The absence of a beach as that is now secured due to sea erosion. More TV channels would have been ideal. If you are seated on the ally next to the main buffet it is disturbing as the guests move up and down carrying the plates, making loud noices and bumping on to you. Looking at a re-arrangement would be greatly appreciated for the tables with 4 seats.

Breakfast average. Odd reception vibe! Felt at times like we were being mocked and talked about. Don’t know why. The guy / bellboy laughed at us when he found out we had overpaid in a tuk tuk (but refused to tell us how much we should pay beforehand). Reception wouldn’t let us use the phone to call a local taxi. They quoted us 4 times the price we paid for a taxi (like for like). Also check invoice at the end if you order room service / pool drinks. Ours was wrong - not by a lot but given our experience with reception, I would be surprised if this was an innocent mistake. All other staff were amazing, especially room attendants.

Extremely friendly staff and great service. Clean spacious well equipped rooms. Beautiful location and great sea view. Good food and great delicious breakfast buffet. Great parking facilities. Live music at coffee shop which was quite welcoming.

Front officer cashiers seemed very grumpy.

It was cheaper than the next door hotel. Royal Palms costed an outrageous 130 euros per night. The pool was open until 20:00 compared to Royal Palms where only until 19:00. Big room. Beautiful lobby. Table tennis. The area around the pool.

80 euros/night for such a place is too much in my opinion, I understand that Sri Lanka is recovering from the years of the pandemic, but I don't understand why I should pay for this. I guess it's much cheaper with a tour. Tangerine itself does not have access to the water, you need to exit through the neighboring hotel, which does not have a real beach, but a steep entrance to the water. The staff is less friendly compared to Royal Palms where we stayed for 3 nights. Especially the guy in the pool. Heaving breakfast on the second floor with all windows closed.

Very nice setting (a lot of honeymoon couples and wedding photoshoots), great facilities, awesome staff, excellent buffet breakfast. Daily room service.

Check-in procedure was unpleasant. They Collected every person's details (names, ID numbers, signatures etc). They counted heads as if I wanted to bring someone without informing them LOL. I've stayed many hotels around the world but haven't come across something this weird. (not sure this sort of attitude is towards all the guests or only 'supposedly locals' are discriminated.) A bit rundown (not so bad for an older hotel). Other than that, everything else was awesome.

the hotel is very nice and comfy. big pool,next to beach. Rooms are spacious and with good bathroom and balcony overseeing the garden,pool and sea. Super friendly and helpful staff!!Prasadi from reception, Ajit the Bar captain and Amita from restaurant were just amazing!! Definitely reccomend this hotel for stay.

We have requested for queen beds on the pool level...queen beds were not provided. I ended up taking the most expensive room on the same level with upgrade rate.

Food is not up to value

the pool was really clean and had a bar connected to it so we could sit down and drink in the shade, there was a lot of really nice decorations and really nice staff

the rooms could do with a mop to make sure it’s ready clean but everywhere else was quiet clean

It was a good buffet breakfast. They offer variety of dishes and beverages.
