This was a very pleasant stay in a beautiful apartment, especially enjoyed by our group f designers. The accommodations for our two couples worked out well with separate bedrooms and bathrooms with ample kitchen and living area. The setting next to a lovely park in Kalsa and next to many historic sites . Chiara was kind to guide us to good restaurants and other places in the city. A wonderful experience. We hope to return.

Wonderful apartment close to everything. We especially liked being close to central train station since we took several day trips around the country. Place is quiet and well equipped for our 2 weeks vacation.

I rented this property for five weeks and the longer I stayed the more I appreciated the location. It’s in a fascinating part of Palermo and close to the main attractions. It’s very close to restaurants and bars, but there’s no street noise reaching the apartment. Highly recommended!

The apartment is right in the middle of the old town, so we could walk everywhere, there is no need to take a bus. Chiara was very, very friendly and helpful. We can highly recommend this place :) .

We had a wonderful time in Palermo! The location was perfect, we walked the old city every day. Check in was simple and the recommendations for restaurants and groceries were excellent. Coffee and wine on the balcony over looking the park was perfect!

The flat was gorgeous. Clean and spacious with everything we needed there. And the location was perfect for the main sights which were all walkable. Chiara was really warm and friendly. She gave us lots of helpful advice about getting around Palermo, good places to eat and drink and was available if we ever needed us. Nothing to fault in this appartment.

for Chiara, who had organized a pick up service from the airport for us, welcomed us super friendly, familiarized us in detail with the apartment and had many good tips for our stay. We were also especially thankful for the restaurant tips in the direct surroundings. The apartment corresponds to 100 percent to the description, is very homely and comfortably furnished. The location is quiet enough (small park right in front of the house) and perfectly suited for exploring the Old Town on foot. For excursions further afield: The train station (also the final stop of the shuttle bus from/to the airport) it is only a 10 minutes' walk away. We can highly recommend XIRBA and would like to thank Chiara once again for being a wonderful and helpful hostess!

The apartment is very spacious, clean and decorated with interesting knickknacks throughout. It is well located, with a large number of restaurants, shops and historic sights close by. Chiara was a terrific host, arranging for transportation from the airport and meeting us outside the building. She took her time showing us how everything in the apartment worked and making recommendations on area stores and sights we should see. She also had a scrapbook in the apartment with necessary tourist information and a list of restaurants she personally recommended. Anytime we had a question about anything during our stay, I would email her and receive a prompt reply. All in all, my wife and I were very happy with our stay.

Great location within easy walking district of the entire historic district of Palermo. Many restaurants to choose from and lots of activities close by. Very clean, strong wifi, and a/c in each room. Chiara is a super host and was always available to answer questions and offer suggestions. Hope to come back soon.

We had a wonderful stay at Xirba. The location is perfect within the historical district. It is very comfortable with two bedrooms and two baths and a functional kitchen. We also enjoyed the small balcony overlooking the park. We could walk everywhere and the bus stop of the free shuttle is right in front of the park. We did not have any issues with noise. The new restaurant across the street had delicious authentic Italian food. Chiara was the ultimate hostess. She answered questions before our arrival, arranged taxis from the airport, and greeted us at the apartment with sweets and a packet of information to assure our welcome and enjoyment of Palermo and Sicily. She had a book of information on the sights, restaurants, maps, food specialties and answered all of our questions. She was extremely patient in trying to solve a problem after we left. She really welcome us as if we were old friends and we would definitely return!

This apartment is every bit as good as advertised. It is quite spacious with great bedrooms and a functional kitchen. There was plenty of comfortable furniture in the living room to sit on after a long day of sightseeing. The location is great as well. I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about staying in the Kalsa district after reading some of the guidebooks, but I’m glad to say I was wrong. The area is full of twisting, narrow streets with buildings both renovated and rundown. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. My friends and I didn’t have a bad meal at any of them. Chiara is very helpful. She met us at the apartment, showed us how everything works and gave us recommendations for restaurants and sights to visit. She even left us Sicilian pastries which were wonderful. I loved Palermo and want to return. I’d definitely stay in this apartment again.

Everything matched or surpassed the web description. Chiara arranged a taxi pickup at the airport for our party of four and her restaurant recommendations were great. Apartment is quiet but also at the center of the old city, easy walking to sights.

This was my first stop on a month long trip to Europe and it definitely set a high bar. As a host, Chiara was easy to correspond with, she was able to arrange a taxi for both our arrival and departure as well as provide great recommendations on places to eat and things to do. We arrived late on a Saturday night (9:30 pm) and Chiara was there to personally greet us. She took the time to show us a map of Palermo and provide a ton of recommendations. She even left us some great pastries in the fridge as well as a cold bottle of water. I loved the location of the property. It was in easy walking distance to all the major tourist sites - only small downfall was the noise from the back alley. She has some pretty noisy neighbors. Oh, and don't be surprised by all the scooters zooming past at 2 am in the morning. The accommodation itself was comfortable and exactly as pictured. It has everything you need for a short stay. The bed in the master room is comfortable. The showers are a bit small, but that is to be expected from Italy. We had no issues using the washing machine and the dishwasher was a great benefit too. The sofa couch I think has seen better days and is starting to show some wear and tear, but still very comfortable and I feel asleep on it several times, so no complaints on comfortability. All in all, I would highly recommend this place to friends and family and if I was ever to come back to Palermo, this would be my go to spot!

I can't say enough about our stay at Xirba. We felt at home immediately. The location is perfect and Chiara ha wobderful, welcoming and so helpful. We felt like residents, not tourists while staying in Chiara's beautiful apartment. Chiara helped us with lost luggage which eased our minds so we could enjoy our first day without worry. Absolute wonderful choice in Palermo. Everything close by, awesome apartment, clean and spacious but most of all wonderful hostess Chiara even arranged transport to and from airport. I can't say enough about the experience at Xirba!

We loved the apartment. It was centrally located. If was fun staying in one of the quarters. The apartment was roomy. The kitchen was well appointed. We had a problem with the water heater. There is a switch in the kitchen that controls the water heater and accidentally got switched off. Chiara was great and gave us great information on what to do and see. She even recommended a great wine store. I would definitely recommend staying with Chiara.

This is a great apartment. Very clean, fantastic location in one of the old quarters of Palermo. Chiara was a wonderful host, very helpful with some great suggestions of things to do. The showers aren't great, but they do the job. Would still definitely recommend this place.

Simply the best! Chiara's beautifully appointed apartment met all of our accommodation requirements. Situated in the older section of Palermo, it is close to great shopping, excellent restaurants, a stone's throw from the train station and a short walk to the Palermo Yacht Club. Chiara is the pentultimate host - cheerful and always ready to assist wherever necessary. She was able to provide us with a delightful guide for half a day - an adventure not to be missed! We loved our stay in Palermo and the apartment and Chiara played a big part in that. The apartment is in the perfect location. It is very chic as Chiara would say, and that description fits nicely. We were in Italy for three weeks, Bologna, Rome, Taormina, Lipari, and Palermo. I love to eat and for me, Palermo has the best food, especially if you like sea food. Definitely the best place to stay in the middle of the old town while in Palermo. Location perfect. Walk to all the sites, restaurants and supermarkets. The apartment is lovely and very inviting. It is modern including the kitchen. It is also very clean and well maintained. We loved being on the small balcony and felt like part of a community. Chiara gave us a list of restaurants and we ate at most of them. Excellent and helpful choices all in the area. Don't miss the Antica Focacceria San Franceso and see and sample the most delicious looking array of food. You'll be tempted to try one of everything. The Carrfoore super market is a 5 minute walk which is similar to a Whole Foods with its deli/gourmet food section. Chiara was very accommodating and met us at 8:00 pm. Our special arrival treat was spectacular and delicious. This apartment is a must to stay in. Don't spend time looking further for apartments. You won't find a better one. The photos are accurate.

Touch of artistic decoration which is a + when you stay a few days. Well organized, Chiarra provided us with the necessary touristic information of Palermo (transportation, sights, restaurants etc..) and its surroundings. Excellent availability of the nice host through email. As the apartment is in the old part of Palermo, we walked a lot and discovered typical little treasures of ways of living, of architecture and history of Palermo. We recommend without hesitation. We spent 3 weeks in Palermo and could not have had a better location, in the heart of the old city. Chiara was an excellent hostess and attended to us with great attention to every request as well as lots of good information. Very much appreciated as we are non Italian speaking. The apartment is spacious and more than big enough for us 3, and we had 2 visitors for 1 week as well. You can walk to get everything needed within 500 metres. I very much recommend this apartment and in particular Chiara who is a model for all hosts/hostesses, and made our visit that much more special.

The building is secure and quiet, but in a vibrant area of town. Lots to do at your doorstep, convenient to the central station and to supermarket and groceries. Our stay at Chiaras apartment in Palermo could not have been better. What a great experience. Chiara met us on a warm Saturday afternoon armed with sweet gelato treats. Just right. The apartment is charming and comfortable and her attention to detail is unsurpassed. Chiara arranged for our to be safely parked and even negotiated hard for a fair price. The garage was a 2 minute walk from the apartment. She also thoughtfully designed maps for your convenience and recommended restaurants which were lovely.
