Screened In was the perfect quiet retreat for the 2 of us-close enough for a quick walk to welcome sunrises every day and drive to sunsets each evening. An excellent location on the north side near the lighthouse. This historic cottage (and former Mess Hall) has a delightful "secret passage" to the beach. The "Mermaids" provided all our needs and wants in this charming sand sparkling clean cottage. I am a repeat customer will definitely continue to rent from Mermaid Cottages.

This year we decided to check an item off our Bucket list, and stay for a month. The things we always enjoy about this cottage: quiet family oriented North End location, large screened porch, and walking distance to the beach. We are an older couple, and enjoy the cottage furnishings & atmosphere that remind us of decades ago. The Mermaid Staff are always friendly and accommodating. We will be back.

This is the first year we stayed on this side of the cottage because we increased our party and needed a larger place. Screened Inn didn’t disappoint! It’s so charming, filled with everything you need. We loved spending time on the beautiful screened porch in the evenings. Tammy and Diane were amazing as they always are. We can’t wait to return next year! So close to North Beach, my favorite part of Tybee.

It is such cozy cottage and the outdoor shower was a bonus! Lots of stories were shared on the Screened Porch. It was simply perfect for us. Would highly recommend this property!!! PS. I loved the music upon arrival. Very nice touch!!! The only suggestion I would make is to provide beach chairs. Packing beach chairs takes up a lot of space when traveling.

We like the North end location and the neighborhood it is in, behind Officer's Row. The house has plenty of room, is clean and well furnished, and the porch is a big plus....and our little puppy loves it. The Mermaids are a pleasure to work with, very friendly and responsive. The house was well appointed and in an amazing location both on the island and to get to Savannah and surrounding attractions. The private beach access was amazing. The house was comfortable and we appreciated the historical significance of the property. I could not believe that we had neighbors, it was so quiet. A king size bed in the master would have made for a better night sleep, but the property is pretty much perfect. We would love to visit again! Thank you!

Overall stay was fine but all the mattresses need replacing. This would have been a better experience with mattresses of this decade.

This was a precious property that reminded me of going to my grandmothers home. It was beautifully restored and full of character. Close to park, beach, bingo 😂 and could walk to the Post Theatre. We will be back!

Reviewer Comments: My friends and I really enjoyed staying at the Screened Inn; the cottage was comfortable, spacious and the North Beach location is fantastic. We walked to the beach (only about 5-8 minutes), the neighborhood is quiet, you are about a 5 minute drive from the Lighthouse (nicer to walk there), and the Pavilion and Pier isn't that far away. The cottage exceeded our expectations in terms of decor; it was very clean; it was nice to have the washer and dryer and we weren't expecting the beach chairs. The decor is my style, so I felt like I was in my second home and all the appliances and TVs worked just fine. I will definitely rent another Mermaid Cottage and really enjoyed the relaxed, easy going atmosphere of Tybee Island in the post Labor Day season.

The layout was great in there is a place for the little kids to watch tv and play and sleep, and a place for watching football on Thanksgiving Day with no interuptions. The house was very close to the beach and you did not have to cross any major roadways to get there. If i had one complaint it would be the Wifi did not work well. You would have to be sitting next to the router in order to get a signal.
