Our expectations of Parcher By The Sea were met and exceeded. Our family of 10 had an outstanding week. The house was very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was readily available, and in great condition. Location to the beach and OOB downtown is excellent! Pauline and Steve were the best VRBO hosts we have experienced. Pauline was readily available if we had questions. We got several messages just wanting us to know they were available if we needed anything. We would be staying there next year, but our family has grown recently to fourteen (our son and his wife had twins three weeks ago). Thank you Pauline and Steve for an outstanding week!

This property is located steps from a fairly quiet beach on the OOB/Scarborough line. You can easily walk to the Pier or take the trolley for $2 per person.

This house was exactly as advertise. We had plenty of room for all of us. We were able to eat upstairs, downstairs and on the deck, while listening to the music from the nearby Tiki Bar! The beach chairs were first class and very easy to carry to the beach, which was only a few steps away. Thanks for providing a wonderful house to enable us to have a great time.

I really liked the location of our vacation house and the owners were great. Loved the beach area also. plenty of room for our family and it was neat and clean. wish there had been air conditioning because it was hot that week. Overall we had a wonderful time .

Lots of good restaurants close by.

This house did not disappoint and the hosts were amazing. They responded to us immediately when we had questions. The views from the upper level were beautiful and the house was very comfortable. The added bonus was the little tiki bar next door and the live beach music they played most afternoons. We will be back for sure!

Plenty of space both inside and out, Large fenced backyard with chairs & outdoor shower & beach chairs, Beautiful 2nd floor with updated kitchen, beautiful views of the ocean and outdoor deck. The 2nd floor was the gathering spot each morning and evening for our family. Great location on OOB, just past the hotels- beaches were not crowded and equidistant to either Pier or Pine Point,. Had a great time with our children and granddaughter, You won't be disappointed .

We enjoyed staying at 5 Parcher Avenue very much. Loved that it was right at the beach and glad we were away from town. The weather was perfect. The only thing that was a mild inconvenience was not having a refrigerator with an ice machine on the main living area. Since I read the previous reviews I was prepared for the room with the queen size bed and it worked out OK. One suggestion for that room is maybe put in a shelf or small dresser instead of the two bed side tables. Like I mentioned previously, we really enjoyed the closeness of the beach to the house and being able to go to the Tiki Bar right beside our property was a plus! I would highly recommend this property to others.

The home was neat and comfortable for our family of 7. The only thing that would have been nice to have was wash cloths and beach towels. Overall it was a great experience.

The secondary bedroom upstairs should be revamped; the queen bed runs wall to wall and totally splits the room in two so that the occupants have to "crawl" over it to get to the bathroom and/or clothes rack (there is no closet in this room and very little other storage). It is also very, very hot in the summer with the house having no AC. Another consideration for this home is the lack of butcher knifes that actually cut. We grew frustrated trying to prep for meals with the two knifes provided; they were very dull and would not even cut vegetables much less meat. We had a great week. The house was awesome. Well equipped and very comfortable for all eleven of us. It would have been nice to be right on the beach, however it was a easy walk. We had one issue with the fridge and Pauline addressed it promptly! Fantastic week and great location.

We had the 3 generations of my family at Pauline's house for a week and I could not be happier that we chose this house. 10 of us fit comfortably with space to spread out for cooking, card games, puzzle working, grilling, and just hanging out. The kitchen was well appointed for the many meals that we had all together. The location is perfect as we had about 30 steps to a very quiet section of the beach. The beach there is amazing with super soft sand and miles of space for walking or running. Walking down to the pier (and the busier part of the beach) was about a mile but perfect for an evening stroll to get the kids ice cream. There is a negative review from June 2017 but I have to say that we had the exact opposite experience with Pauline and this house. We have rented vacation houses for 10 years in this price range and this is one worth going to again.

Beautiful views! Clean, gorgeous home with plenty of space for friends and family. I would definitely stay again and would recommend to EVERYONE!

Just returned from 7 wonderful fun filled days at this home. The house is literally steps from the beach and the beach front is bar none the nicest, most private and cleanest on the strip. The house was the perfect size for us (3 families -2 adults and 2 kids each) . The open kitchen on the 2nd floor overlooking the ocean was just perfect for breakfast with all the kiddos and the adults spent many a night on the balcony off the kitchen enjoying some drinks and conversation. The owner Pauline is so warm , kind and helpful and only a phone call away. We are from New York and this was our first visit to Maine and I speak for all of us when I say we were impressed by the kind people , wonderful restaurants and beautiful scenery Orchard Beach / Portland has to offer. We will definitely be back and hope to have many more fun times at this perfect vacation home!

This is a two story house that has been completely renovated on the second floor where there are two excellent master suites, as well as an open design which is great for groups. Plenty of towels and linens. First floor has two bedrooms and is older. It is one house removed from the beach on short road between the main street in OOB and the beach. There are ocean views. The house has some quirks that became a bit more annoying as the week went on, and could be addressed with a bit more attention from the owner, who we only briefly saw as we were leaving. Otherwise, it's email and text. First, the upstairs kitchen (there is one downstairs as well) has a huge commercial refrigerator that is very loud. So much so that conversation was affected when the compressor was on. Additionally, there is no freezer in this contraption, so anything frozen required trips back and forth to the other kitchen. Second, three of the smoke detectors had battery issues during the week, and as the beeping was continuous, and the only contact with the owner was by text, they had to be disconnected to end the sound. Not a comforting matter in a strange house. They came over at some point and fixed two of the three. Next, If you are planning on watching tv at some point, be aware that there are literally dozens of remote controls in the house. An occasional one works, but not completely with the tv it is paired with. There is other a/v stuff as well but again, without working remotes, it's a trial. Lastly, there was a blackout for a few hours in OOB on one of our nights. We searched for flashlights, found two, batteries dead. Only communication with owner was by text, and no resolution until the next day. Again, attention not paid. In summary, the house is very good, in a very good location. If that's all you want, we would recommend. However, if for the amount charged, you would prefer to avoid the annoyances above while on vacation, then you might want to consider other options.

I can't say enough about this home, my family and I arrived to sounds of Ocean waves and cool breezes wafting through the house. We had an absolutely wonderful time, the home literally sits steps away from the beach, house was very clean and well appointed. I had a few issues when I arrived (mostly because I'm a guy and don't read the directions which are provided;) Pauline (The owner) was most gracious and handled my questions within minutes. I would highly recommend this house if you are considering renting on OOB...

I rented this place for the week of 4th of July and could not have chosen a better spot. The four rooms worked perfect for us. Each room has their own bathroom and shower if you include the outdoor shower. You are steps from the beach and plenty of on-street parking for guests. The upstairs kitchen and deck was perfect for hosting/gathering. You have a perfect view of the beach from up there. We saw the fireworks at the Pier, located about a mile away. The distance to the Pier was great: close enough to walk to yet far enough to keep the beach not crowded. I would stay here again. Highly recommend staying here. The owner was very responsive despite some personal issues she had at the time of our stay. Thanks again Pauline.
