I enjoyed staying at this rental. The location was great. It was clean and the owner was very responsive. The only comment is that there are a lot of stairs so pack light. The stairs to the bedrooms on the second level were steep so if you have back or knee issues they may be a problem. Two of my guests couldn't use the upstairs bedroom and had to sleep on the pull out sofa since they had problems with the stairs and the bathroom upstairs cannot be shared since it is in one of the bedrooms. So if you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night you have to go down the steep stairs. All in all, though, for me it was a pleasant stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. From the early communications with Jeff, the ease of check in, and the great house itself. The neighborhood has street parking, restaurants galore within walking distance, we even took the ferry into NYC and it was pretty seamless. Like other reviewers we were surprised by the steep steps into the bedroom but they were not an issue. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. There wasn’t anything we needed that we didn’t have. Beach pass was a great bonus!

Jeff was a great host, offered us early check in, location was great. Parking was a great bonus. House was clean and comfortable!

We enjoyed our stay very much! The property is super clean and well stocked. So relaxing and so much better staying at VBRO than a hotel room! Jeff responded quickly to any question we had; truly an amazing host. Just be a little careful on the stairs up to the 2 bedrooms; they are carpeted and quite steep so hold on to the rail & don’t wear socks. We would absolutely stay here again because of Jeff!

Property is well maintained, well managed and has pretty much everything you need. Jeff is extremely responsive and easy to get hold of. The house is in a lovely street/neighbourhood and everyone is friendly. some great cafes and restaurants very close by. Access to beaches and parks within a 5 min drive. We stayed for 2 weeks and didn't want to leave! Plenty of room inside and good living space. Balconys front and back, a back yard, BBQ and garage. Good sized bedrooms and bathrooms. Awesome place!

We spend each year in Highlands, with numerous friends from high school (graduated in Monmouth County) and have been doing this for a very long time…the renters in the house come from out of state but lots s of our friends still live in Monmouth and this is a perfect location. Our favorite places to frequent are Proving Grounds and Bahrs and they are both within walking distance; we are Regulars at both places. Jeff is a great Host and very responsive to the calls I made with regard to issues in the houses. I rented this side for two weeks and the other side for one week . We are all in our 70’s and some more agile than others….although we all go non stop. However, one thing I can say, is that the landing at the top of the stairs, has two more stairs to each side., to get to the bedrooms. These stairs are extremely steep and hard to manage. If you have any physical issues, it could be tough, as some of the group did in fact have a hard time. But they did fine in the end. However, I will say, by the end of the two weeks I had been using the stairs as my physical workout and it was just fine. All the homes in Highlands, or most of them, had to be raised after Hurricane Sandy, so all the houses have stairs leading up to the front door and again, once inside, to the second floor. I too have a vacation rental in a resort town, and am very happy to have had this experience with Jeff. Thank you for everything, Jeff; we all greatly appreciated you and all you did. Best Regards.

The house is in a great location close to restaurants and the bay. Nice neighborhood. Easy access to Sandy Hook. Working with Jeff was smooth.

Everything you could want and more! Excellent stay! Only thing I would comment on is perhaps an upgrade on the bed. We had an excellent time and owner was very responsive!

Check in was easy, grateful to have passes to Sandy Hook only a 5 min drive away. House was clean with appropriate amenities.

The house looked just like the pictures and was as described. The views from the upstairs balcony are beautiful. The neighbors were also nice. Any issues we had were brought to Jeff's attention and he responded fairly quickly. They do not furnish wash cloths so you will need to bring your own or pick some up on the way. This was a little inconvenient as we didn't realize when we were getting our supplies. We made it work though. Overall we had a great vacation.

This rental was very clean. We enjoyed breakfast on patio. Walked to dinner out at many very good restaurants. Biked everywhere. The owner was quick to answer questions. I’m hoping to book again, soon!

We had a great stay at Jeff’s Highlands house. The house had everything we needed and the location was prefect. Jeff was very helpful and we easy to get a hold of. The ferry to New York is the way to go see the city and it is less then a five minute drive from the house. The heat and a/c worked well. We needed both during our we stay. It is great place just relax. We will stay at Jeff’s again for sure.

Quiet & relaxing in a beautiful area. Close to everything you could need. Many great food choices in the area. Fresh seafood within walking distance. Great nightlife. Nearby ferry gets you to NYC in about an hour. Just a magical place.

The home was a bit small for our needs. The stairs were a bit too much for a 75 year old, and there were many tripping hazards. The backyard furniture was cracked and one chair collapsed. The TV volume could not be raised. Otherwise the owner was very attentive and helped us where he could. Nice guy.

We really enjoyed our stay. Would stay again. We did get a good workout with the stairs, which we are not used to. Enjoyed the decks and cool breeze from the water. Parking was little difficult due to nearby restaurants using most of the street parking. You can walk to just about anything. Jeff was great answering any questions that I had. This was the 1st time using VRBO and had a very good experience.

Our family had a wonderful relaxing stay in this well located rental. The home was clean and comfortable with everything you need at hand, including a free beach pass to Sandy Hook National Recreation Area, which was a nice money saver. Biking was excellent at the Sandy Hook Recreation Area and also on the nearby Henry Hudson Bay Shore Trail. The location was unbeatable with access to nearby parks, plenty of local restaurants, the ferry to Manhattan, and a short drive to Asbury Park and other North Jersey Shore beach towns. Jeff, the property manager, was quick to respond to texts, and super helpful from the beginning to the end. The home was well-equipped and well-maintained. There was plenty of seating in the dining room, on the two balconies facing the water, and on the rear deck overlooking the fenced landscaped rear yard. We greatly enjoyed our stay!

The weather wasn't perfect during our stay but in spite of it we had a great time. The house was spacious, comfortable and provided us with everything we needed. We stay on the go when we travel and the location was convenient to Newark Airport, Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, Coney Island, Atlantic City, Asbury Park (concert at Stone Pony was canceled due to weather) and other southern beaches. Highlands is a nice town with good restaurants and Sandy Hook Park. We managed to fit in a lot during our long weekend. Will definitely keep it in mind for future visits. We stayed on the left side of the house and felt the price was reasonable.
