Took the boat to Catalina Island and attended JazzTrax event. For a town of 4k people, everyone was friendly. Our villa at Hamilton Cove was great. The view of the ocean was mesmerizing and calming. Bed is super comfy. There is plenty of coffee and filters. Stop at Vons and pick up some groceries but we dined at fabulous restaurants. Potato Cottage is the breakfast place. Get there by 9 am avoid the line. Lobster Trap had fresh lobster yummy. Take a guided tour. The island has rich history

Wonderful place! The bed was so comfortable!!! Beautiful veiw!!!! Had an excellent time! Couldn't ask for a better location! The spa wasn't working is the only negative.

It was an awesome location. Having the golf cart was great. The 32 steps to get to the first level wasn’t to bad. It was worth it for the view. 👍

We enjoyed our first visit to Hamilton Cove in Avalon. The view was amazing and the golf cart is very much a necessity. It gave us the freedom to explore Avalon and take in the views. The unit had really nice, updated bathrooms and check-in was easy. It is a little bit dated though and there is no A/C! While this was not a problem at night with open windows and ceiling fans, during the day it did get a little warm. As other reviews stated, there are many stairs to access the unit, so please plan accordingly. You will need a taxi to get to and from the ferry landing, but the location is great if you want to enjoy the quiet side of Avalon,

Perfect location. Very quiet. Can see pool and private ocean cove from widow and balcony. We liked this because we appreciated knowing when they were unoccupied so we could go and enjoy privately. Having two full-baths and two entrances was great. Also having full use of the gold-cart was super convenient and fun. View from bed absolutely stunning.

On the island for youngest son’s wedding. We have family that lives on the island. First time staying at Hamilton Cove and not staying with family. This unit is great! There’s 30+ stairs to the master bedroom door. Stair count is important in Hamilton Cove. The unit was in a great location, the island contact couldn’t have been more helpful, the upstairs living room, kitchen, balcony were wonderful. The location is close to the pool which was important to us. The golf cart was in great working condition. My husband wants to come back and stay for a month in this unit. It is well worth it.

Easy process, great place. Quiet

We had an awesome stay! Rental unit had all we needed and was located overlooking the pool and the gym, both of which we used. The golf cart was great getting us into town to shop and eat. The weather was gorgeous and can’t wait to come back!

Overall it was a good location, the pool was amazing, there was a jacuzzi. The area was clear. The only thing I noticed is that on of the restrooms trash bag wasn’t clean. I was confused did they really clean well the room after each travel or not?

Hamilton cove is a beautiful place to stay. We wish we’re staying longer. We’ll just have to come again!! Thanks

The place was exceptional. Exactly like the pictures in the listing. Actually better. (I didn’t realize it was two stories).

This is our third stay, and we enjoy the location, views, and amenities. We had 2 issues upon check-in; first, the lockbox with the keys inside on door handle , could not be opened, and the local manager, and the emergency contact could not be reached; as it turns out, we discovered that the door was unlocked, and the keys were located on the kitchen counter. The second check-in issue was that the golf cart was not in its assigned parking space; it was apparently being washed, which was confusing at the time.

This was our first trip to the island. I loved the location of the condo and the beautiful view from the balcony! We were actually lucky enough to meet the owners who are a lovely couple! We enjoyed having our own golf cart for the weekend!! Great trip!!

This condo was awesome. Beautiful property. Beautiful views. It was quiet and still really close to town. Nice to be able to get away from the hustle of Avalon and have a quiet place to relax.

We appreciated the location and security of Hamilton Cove. Our family of three enjoyed the view, pool, and early access to golf cart/luggage a few hours prior to our scheduled check-in time was much appreciated. Great proximity to Descanso and close enough to downtown but still far enough to feel “away”. If we were to return to this spot we would bring along beach towels, umbrella, beach chairs, liquid bath soap and pillows.

My husband and I had a fabulous stay here. Communication with property manager was fabulous. Everything was clean and inviting. They gave directions on how to work things like their TVs which was nice and even gave a copy of the HOA rules. Overall great stay

We loved the location and the home. I reached out to our island contact a day prior to arrival. She said I could drop off luggage at the villa and take the golf cart while we waited for our room to be ready. Upon arrival there was no golf cart. The door was open. We were quickly told the golf cart would be there soon. It arrived after 1 hr. After 45 min of asking the children to stay out of the room and not touch... we gave in and just started to settle in. Not horrible, yet we would have planned food and our arrival much different. Our first night we had a luke warm shower. We had returned from snorkeling and were a bit cold. The second night I took off wet suits with 2 of us in the shower. It was cold again within 10 min. I reached out again to our island contact. I was told a plumber would come. No one did to my knowledge. On the final night yet again the water was cold within 10 minutes. I was very disappointed considering the cost of the villa. The first morning there was 2 packages of raw meet pushed to the corner of the bedroom door and main walk way. There were ants. I pushed it 10 ft away and continued to our morning activities. The meat was scattered upon returning in the afternoon. I again made contact with our island contact. She apologized yet the mess was never mopped up. So we walked over the sticky meat spot all week. Beautiful place. Terrible customer service.

First time we ever went to the island and we had a great time. Condo was awesome and we enjoyed the property and views. We can’t wait to go back and explore more of the island. Condo was great ... just be ready for stairs all weekend, but the view was worth it...

Property was in a beautiful location with great ocean views. Use of golf cart was an added benefit of staying in condo. We encountered 3 issues during our stay, 1. ants on kitchen and bathroom counters, 2. two broken fans which would have been helpful during heat wave, and a non working coffeemaker.

Upon arrival it was a little dirty and no hand soap in upstairs bathroom. No pepper in the kitchen. Our last night was disrupted by a complex wide fire alarm that carried on for about 20 minutes without justification but over all a great stay.

This was our third visit to Hamilton Cove and this particular place was the best!!! Very comfortable and as advertised. The golf cart was in great condition (side panels might be nice for the colder days to come). We will definitely rent this unit again!

Sadly, this property was not what we hoped for. To begin, we were unable to reach our property manager for the length of our stay. We were given a cell number to call if we had a problem and the voicemail for this person was full for the 4 days we were there. Additionally, I left a message with Evolve regarding some of the issues we encountered (on our first day) and never received a call back. The property could have been much cleaner and there is a horrid odor coming from the kitchen sink Paint is old and dirty looking, light bulbs burned out. Stairs down to the master are very steep, make loud creaking noises and the master bath is tiny with very old, dated fixtures that barely work. The balcony is tiny and there is no bbq. We have stayed at Hamilton Cove 4 previous vacations to Catalina and this was our least favorite property. A few minor updates and it would be much better however not being able to reach management of any kind is unacceptable.

Was that a dream or was that actually one special getaway I'll never forget. From sitting on the balcony with wine cheese and pasta. Dining al fresco with my family while gazing out at the beautiful sea. with unobstructed views. To relaxing on the comfy sofa and again gazing out at the sea from the amazing viewsfrom the wall of windows where you feel the fresh ocean air come through and relax you. As at sat there I pictured myself living there and enjoying a simpler peaceful life. This tranquil place centered me. It reminded me to slow down and breath. Some people need adrenaline, parties and glam but this place was just what I needed. Waking up and seeing my mom sitting out on the balcony drinking a cup of coffee while enjoying the view. Seeing my family sitting around the table playing a game of scrabble. Swimming in the ocean at the private beach with my husband and daughter. Watching them bond as they swim out together knowing she'll always remember this moment . Thinking of my father (who has passed) and feeling his spirit there with me. Discounting from technology and reconnecting with what mattters. That's what my stay here was to me. I could list all the superficial things I loved about this because I tend to be on the picky side and in order for me to find my zen there are certain things I need. Such as peace, quiet, comfort and cleanliness in a nice environment. Well this place provided me everything I needed and more. The property: Was in a great location because it was near the pool, hot tub, gym and sauna. You can simple walk out of the unit and all of those amenities are across from you. The private beach is close too. They even provided towels for the pool and beach. The unit was full of everything you'll need to prepare a meal and a dishwasher to do the cleaning. The furniture was tasteful and comfy (thank god because I just can't) and the linens were fresh and clean. The extras like the games, smart tv with cable upstairs and tv with cable downstairs in the bedroom is great for people with kids. The golf cart that comes with the unit was perfect to drive around and explore beautiful Catalina Island. Some of my happiest moments were actually driving around in the golf cart with my family. We got to see deer up close and had so much fun exploring. We really enjoyed our stay and truly fell in love with Catalina. I will never forget our special 4th of July and the memories we made there. I highly recommend this place ❤️

The condo was in an excellent location with a beautiful view. We enjoyed our stay, however the place was not cleaned well. Also, the toilet in the upstairs bathroom was continuously running and it was loud, but rather than fixing it, someone had just turned the water off. Another annoying issue was the golf cart which should have been full of gas when we arrived, was only half full. We were only there for one full day and hardly used the cart, but we had to drive all the way to the gas station which is a 40 minute round trip drive and pay to fill it up so that the next tenant had a full tank! Also, the door to the bedroom downstairs to the outside where the owner says you can leave your luggage for easier access does not unlock, therefore we had to carry our bags all the way up to the front door and then downstairs inside. We enjoyed our stay, but this place had more problems than we cared to deal with for such a short stay.
