Enjoyed our stay at the sugar house. The quaint home was clean and comfortable. The hospitality of Jeff and Edie was great. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything one could need. The home was stocked with any imaginable item one could need. Information and directions were provided to any place you wanted to go. Very well equipped.

Owners were very welcoming and wonderful at communicating and available if we needed anything. Property is absolutely adorable and peaceful.

This was an excellent old antique sugar cane plantation rental with the best property owners. Edie was superior host and an excellent breakfast chef.

The property itself was a beautiful, charming, southern oasis. The lush grounds and peaceful setting make you forget you are literally minutes from LSU and downtown BR. The house is tucked back from the nearby road, and it was blissful waking up to the sounds of birds and the beautiful sunlight streaming in the windows in the room. I could go on forever about how wonderful our stay was! I can't wait to come back! <3

It was a perfectly, lovely home and great communication with owners. Super clean and sweet. Met all out needs!! Great hot water that lasted through all 5 of us! We would likely stay again. My only preference for change is I would have liked to have been able to load the dishwasher and start it right before we left (they state to wash and put away all dishes). Bring paper cups and plates for breakfast if you don’t want to have to hand wash and dry things as you leave but be able to eat and drink. Absolutely still a 5 star review and a personal preference for me.

We had a little weekend getaway here. The property was beautiful, the hosts were very gracious & helpful, & it was close to all of our needs. We would definitely stay here again!

This was my favorite place I’ve stayed at. It was so charming and cozy. Perfect for me and my boyfriend. I wish we could have stayed longer.

From the constant communication including Edie meeting us late at night at the turn to make sure we got in safely to the lovely cottage with all of the comforts of home, we couldn’t have had a better stay and experience. We will definitely stay again!

We stayed here for LSU game weekend with our daughter and a friend. It was originally supposed to be just my husband & I and when Mu daughter’s plans fell through and we decided to bring her & a friend the owners were very accommodating. Even had their blow up mattress set up in the extra room all set up & made up with bedding when we arrived. We would definitely stay here again. Very charming & precious little cottage.

I'm glad I took my time searching VRBO for the perfect place to stay because I found it. The hosts were wonderful. Edie is lovely and so accommodating. If you're like me and appreciate all things old like trees and houses and ever wondered if the walls could talk you'd love it. The scenery and sounds are breathtaking and the spanish moss is my favorite. We will be making many visits over the next few years to visit our Lil' LSU Tiger! I don't want to stay anywhere else now.

My mom, daughter, & I traveled to Baton Rouge for a LSU campus tour. We loved staying here. When we were at the property it felt like we were far away from a large city. However, we weren’t really far away at all. Nicholson Rd (where the house is located) goes straight to the LSU campus. The owners were so nice & helpful with driving directions and good restaurants to try during our stay. They also have 2 friendly black & white cats & 1 dog who loves it if you throw a tennis ball into the pond. She will go get it and bring it back to you as many times as you are willing to keep throwing. We would definitely stay and this property again.

This property was exactly what we were looking for. The hosts went above and beyond and surpassed all expectations. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again. Just far enough out of town and off the main road to feel out of town but had amenities within a short drive.

A beautiful setting with gracious hosts. Very comfortable and quiet, everything we needed. We had a tour of the surrounding farm which I highly recommend. Close to LSU. Will certainly be back.

The Sugar House was perfect for our visit with our LSU student. The room is large, beautifully decorated, quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by lawns, trees, and gardens. We will be back to stay again!

Mr. Jeff and Ms. Edie are fantastic hosts! The Cottage is gorgeous, the grounds are beautiful and you are few minutes drive from Baton Rouge and campus. Mr. Jeff recommended Louie's for breakfast and boy was he right. The weather was very nice for our stay. My wife and I sat on the Cottage's front porch for hours after we had walked the beautiful grounds. Couldn't have asked for a better quick get away weekend!

What a treat to find a quiet retreat that reflects the local heritage of our state. This place combines the uniqueness of a B&B with the privacy and convenience of a hotel. We will absolutely be back!

We booked this location for us & our fur baby & it was Beyond Fabulous. The location is Very Private & seriously a Vintage Vibe mixed with a Gorgeous flower garden & Amazing owners!! We would definitely return if we are ever in need of a location in Baton Rouge! The location is super close to LSU campus with Awesome Shopping & eating close by. Why stay at a hotel when you get this Beautiful location for the same price range. Xoxo

We spend a couple of nights here while visiting our daughter at LSU. She really missed our dog so found this property allowed us to bring him. Cute room, welcoming drinks and snacks in the room. It was nice and cool, comfortable and had everything we needed.

I loved the property and the kitty that visited. The room had some issues. The air conditioner seemed to be acting up during the day and would stay at 78 when air was set to 74, but at night it would kick in get the room to the programmed temp so that was good. One of the sinks didn't work and only drips of water would come out of it. The hot water had a terrible sulfur smell so we were unable to shower while there. We told the hosts so I am sure they took care of the issues before the next guest.

The owners are super friendly. The property is beautiful and has a cool history. It is close to the casino and Lsu.

This was such a pleasant surprise. A 200+ historic farm that was a 1,500 acre sugar plantation for 150+ years. Now a soybean farm. While the outside building appearance is clearly from the early years, the inside is modern lay renovated with amenities. There is a garden area with water fountain and two friendly cats. We went on a tour of the farm with Grant who has several acres of some 50 organic fruits and vegetables. We even sampled some of the tasty herbs right from the plants. Also, on the farm we’re about 100 bee hives and we bought some honey! Edie, the host, was very pleasant and provided refreshments and snacks. Nice touch! Very quiet and best nights of sleep in years in a comfortable king bed with numerous pillows. The accommodations are larger than a hotel room and laid out well. Well supplied with towels, bathroom essentials, etc. We definitely would return. Thanks for a very nice 3 day stay. Well worth it.
