The home was nice and cozy. Easy to check in, the book they leave is really convenient and useful. The room upstairs is very spacious.

While the home was clean it did have a smell and there were bugs. The neighborhood was decent. There was ONE small bathroom. Plenty of towels, not enough cleaning supplies, no trash bags, knife set wasn’t complete.

Location of rental was ideal. Close to beach, shopping and plenty of restaurants. Kitchen was well stocked as we made a Thanksgiving feast for 5. Plenty of towels for the 5 of us and water pressure was fantastic. We didn’t utilize the upstairs but space would be nice for additional children as beds are small. Also plenty of room up there for air mattresses if needed. The front bedroom was quite noisy with traffic passing by and no TV’s in bedrooms. The driveway is not great as it’s a bit tricky to park multiple cars but we made it work. Overall it was a nice place, the owners are amazing and were extremely flexible with our check in time. Very responsive and helpful with questions!

The hosts are lovely people and are super understanding. I stayed here two years in a row and will definitely be back a third! Awesome beach house with a great layout.

I thought renting a house would be a smart choice for my birthday party, but instead it ended up me being naive. There were too many cockroaches everywhere, dusty under beds, grill was dirty and so was the benches outside, and a broken window which looked unpresentable and was not aware of that before booking. But everything else was okay...I guess.

We decided to meet our daughter during fall break in Norfolk beach for a girls trip. She wanted to see her furbaby and sisters so we found this cottage who accommodated all of us.The house is on the main road which does lend itself traffic noise at night for the front bedroom hence the star rating for location. The front yard has a lot of sand burrs so don't let your children or fur babies walk on it. Had to be very careful after our first time mishap. The staircase is not for elderly or very small children due to the spiraling and the beds are at the most big enough for a small college student.
We did stay indoors one day due to torrential rain and it was comfortable.As the owner states-there are bugs (namely cockroaches and a couple of spiders) inside that did visit and there are mosquitos in the back so have to be careful leaving that door open
There is parking for 3 cars easily but would have to be really good at parking for more then that.
I would request the owner to get some wine glasses as there was only one. Had all the other amenities and the kitchen appears recently updated
The beach access was right across the street and we did enjoy our walk the day before and before the rain started. There was a farmers market the saturday AM we were there before the rain and the girls did find some fun goodies.
We do appreciate the owners prompt responses and allowing us early access and staying a little later to get everyone on their way.

Such a cute and cozy cottage close to the beach. My family and I had a wonderful, relaxing week and the beach was so peaceful and empty most of the time. The hosts were very responsive and generous. We truly enjoyed our stay!

This was a short stay for us and had very convenient location to the beach. Not the best neighborhood, but is a great cheaper alternative to VA beach. The only negative about the stay was the shower had previous guest hair stuck to the walls. Other than that it was very cute with a large upstairs loft for kids, and comfortable, and most of the basics. No laundry soap or wash cloths, but those were not a big deal for our short stay. The host did provide snacks and water and a lot of information about restaurants in the area. Overall it was very cute and a great place to have kids stay near the beach.

We loved our stay - the hosts were incredibly communicative and responsive, and the location was bombbbb. The nearby beach is BEAUTIFUL and there was an easy 75 feet between families, so it kind of felt like a hidden gem. We found the biggest hermit crabs I’ve ever seen in my entire life, right there on the beach. Next year I hope to schedule my stay with my brother-in-law and his kids - I could only envision my niece and nephew and my kids having an absolute blast in the loft. And by the way, how hecking cool is the spiral staircase!? The only reason I would hesitate to leave a glowing review is out of selfishness, and hoping to return unimpeded next year when I can afford to schedule it!

Short walk to a nice quiet beach! Kitchen was more than comfortably equipped with all the necessities. House was clean and comfortable. Plenty of beach towels and beach toys/necessities. Hose located right outside the door to spray sand off after a day at the beach. Communication with Ricky and Gina was excellent!!! Only minor complaint we had, which is not the fault of the homeowners, is the noise from loud cars/motorcycles/people passing by was much later and louder than we are used to. Overall we enjoyed our stay and being so close to the beach!! Thank you Ricky and Gina!

The property is adorable. The inside is very nice. You can tell thw owners put a lot of work into it. There is plenty of space for kids and adults alike. We loved how easy it was to access the beach from the 3rd bay street access point. It is literally a 5 minute walk, the longest part being waiting for the traffic light to change. The house is located on a fairly busy street so if younare visiting from a more rural area and not used to traffi sounds at night i would definitely suggest some kind of noise canceling head phone or sound machine. There is also a very nice little park down the street, just watch for the prickers in the grass. Kitchen is decently stocked with equipment and dishes, and there are plenty of linens. Overall we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend the property.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at this property. It was well appointed and clean, with plenty of towels, cookware, and appliances. We loved the location as it was quiet but also close to the beach and park for the kids. Overall a wonderful experience for our large family.

The cottage has all of the necessities, very close to the beach and a quiet area. The kids played board games in the loft and the adults were able to relax in the family room.

Nice house located across the street from the beach. Good location in regard to other attractions such as museums, food and other fun activities. The beach was private access and we practically had it to ourselves every day! Ricky and Gina were excellent work with, very responsive to any needs or questions we had and provided an overall great experience!

Gina and Ricky top notch communication and took all extra steps to ensure our stay was easy. Beds were comfortable, amazing water pressure and spacious living areas.

This is a cute little cottage that’s great for a low key relaxed family vacation with young kids. My 9 yr old had such a fun time and is now all beached out. The beach across the street has very gentle to almost no waves so it’s wonderful for young children, is not crowded and is good for catching crabs on the beach! We saw families with young children and couples mostly. Sarah Constant beach park (6 min away) is a little bigger with a pier and restaurant (but still gentle waves) and has hermit crabs and my son also found a mole crab there. We also tried Croatan beach which was more crowded and rowdy and had real waves (people surf there) that he enjoyed until he got tumbled underneath the waves. We brought our own beach stuff, but the host supplies beach towels and there was a boogie board and beach toys in the laundry/mud room.
There was a nice little snack basket in the kitchen that was much appreciated. My son was very excited over the popcorn (apparently I buy the tasteless stuff at home). We paid it forward and left some snacks behind to replace what we ate.
The beds were comfortable…they were soft but still supportive. The front bedroom is sunny and good for the early risers. For the late sleepers, you will want the back bedroom.
There is some road noise and there are some drivers that enjoyed revving their engine at the light.

We really appreciated the location of this property. It's so close to the park, and the upstairs loft is great for kiddos. The proximity to the beach also can't be beat! The towels were a nice touch, the owners were super responsive and so kind, and everything worked as advertised. The only thing that could have been improved is cleanliness. The floor was sticky and dirty, and my kids feet turned black after a few hours - so we ended up swiffering and cleaning it, which seemed to help. It also could have used some more kitchen items (a regular sheet pan or a working can opener), so you may want to bring some things if you are cooking a lot. Thanks for having us!

The house it’s super cute! Accurate to the photos. Beach access is across the street and everything is convenient to the house. I would definitely book again if we decide to come back to the area again. The owners are very nice and did well with communicating with us. So much space it was perfect for our family.

A great place for a family with children. Safe, clean, and close to the beach. The hosts were very friendly and willing to help if needed. We highly recommend this place. It is near a safe and clean area of the beach without being crowded like Virginia Beach is.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The house was well appointed, nicely stocked with towels and kitchen had plenty of cookware / utensils / dishes etc. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean, and the kids absolutely loved having the loft area upstairs. Nice sized and comfortable common area. Owners were easy to reach, and very responsive, and thorough and helpful in the advance instructions received. The beach right across the street and nice park and playground right up the street were perfect nearby amenities. The only very minor thing we would have enjoyed was a place to sit outside and eat lunch / dinner. Overall, would highly recommend.

- My son loves his bedroom upstairs especially the spiral stairs.
- If you have an infant it is probably not the best stairs to carry her upstairs and downstairs to let other family members sleep when your child screams morning and night wake up time 😅
- I noticed a bit of dust on the floor but it is not that bad since I have our little one with us I'm in an automatic mode to sweep and mop regularly anyway.

We had a lovely long weekend in Ocean View. The property was lovely inside. Although we do not have children, the upstairs would be a child’s dream! A special get away area tailored just for kids! We found the property had everything we needed, including lots of helpful info on the area and a very well stocked kitchen. We enjoyed exploring the Norfolk/VA Beach area, and this was the perfect location for doing both.

We had a nice time staying at this property. It was convenient being so close to the beach, and a very nice park. The house was clean and maintained. There were plenty of places to sleep. I appreciated being able to have our dog with us as well.

We enjoyed the place and location, except for the animal fur in the chairs -- my sister and niece were allergic and therefore were very uncomfortable -- we eventually discovered the culprits. Otherwise it was a great brief stay.

Stayed for 2 months to escape the NE cold. Well equipped kitchen, toddler granddaughters enjoyed the spiral staircase and upstair play area. Very pleasant, helpful owners.
