Perfect place for our annual father-daughter spring break adventure. Everything worth doing/buying/eating/drinking is within walking distance and the house was just the right size for us. Very quaint. Had everything we needed! Thanks!

Ellen and Russ met us when we arrived and made sure we could access the rental. And we were warmly greeted by their dog, noodles. Ellen made us feel like long lost neighbors that were reunited. It made for a wonderful weekend. The rental has alit of charm and comfort.

The place was cute, the neighbors were friendly, and the island was perfect. We needed to get toilet paper because there was none left when we arrived and the rooms did smell like mildew at first.

The Charter Room was perfect for my husband and I for an adult getaway. It was clean, the property owner was responsive when we needed the code for the door. It was a convenient spot and nice stay. Loved the outdoor shower!

The room is great. Its just enough for my husband and myself. We enjoy it so much that we make sure to schedule our next trip earlier than normal. The Grants are the best!! You'll never find anyone like them. I make a point to clean the house before we leave as i know how busy they are. We have always been very considerate.

It’s located in a really nice neighborhood. Close to the stores and the house it’s really clean and cute!

This apartment is small. Three people max. Probably is ideal for a couple without kids. That said, this place was perfect for us, and the proprietors are great to interact with. I stayed with two teen boys and it was perfect for us. Also, the place is actually a little bigger than the photos make it seem. At least, it felt bigger than what I was expecting. I will definitely stay there again.

Cute place. Cozy calm and quite my fav things on a vacation. They bathroom is big and nice and the outside shower is great .. it’s big and completely private. We enjoyed it very much.

Great for one or two people and a small child. Had everything I needed, plus. Very comfortable bedroom. New AC worked great. The owners were very responsive. And they have golf carts on site for rent. I would gladly rent at this property again.

This property was clean and nice. Just right for a couple. The outdoor shower is really handy after days at the beach.

We booked this property for our son and his bride. They really enjoyed the location and how near it was to all they wanted to do while they were on the island.

We were very pleased with the property especially because it was so close to the Festival grounds. It was a very cute efficiency with everything we needed for the weekend. We would have preferred not to have to bring our own linens because of the hassle but certainly not a deal breaker. It was quiet and easily accessible.

Very nice weekend stay for my wife and I. Can't wait to do it again.

My husband and and I would have stayed here again for a long weekend until our last two nights lead to little sleep due to very loud yelling and arguing with whom ever was staying in attached home (listing states owners live there). Our poor dogs who are very laid back where even worried..

Location was great but very cramped as far as neighbors. Basically right out the door. A little noisy as the owners live in the main house. When they were in the laundry room it was like they were standing in the unit. Never stayed anywhere you had to bring your own sheets and towels. That was a little different for us. You could walk to most any restaurant and the waterfront. So overall it was ok.

The location was very quiet and easily accessible to main town attractions. It was homey and beachy!

Crate small apartment for a 2 person fishing trip to Ocracoke! No complaints and as advertised!

This was our third year staying on this property in total. The first year we enjoyed “The Lucky Buck” and the past two years we have enjoyed “The Charter House”. We cannot wait for our forth trip next year!!! If you are looking for quaint, comfortable, simplistic, and an opportunity to unplug and recharge your batteries, these little places are definitely your answer. Just what we were looking for. See you next year!!

The property is near the ferry. We left the ferry area and said ok where is this place? Literally, a couple of blocks away! Great location. All you need is close by, the cottage is perfect for two. Nice private outdoor shower.

We only stayed one night but it was a great short trip! Everything was as described, neat and tidy.

This is a cute little property that has all the essentials needed for vacation. Ellen and Russ are very pleasant, and we really enjoyed interacting with their dog Noodles!

My boyfriend and I stayed here with my 8-year-old Chiweenie. The hosts were so kind and accommodating. Loved the stay, and would love to come back sometime in the future. Ocracoke was a beautiful island. The hosts had golf carts to rent at a great price (compared to other rentals on the island). While the place was a little dated, it was very clean and very comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen much but it was fully stocked with what we needed during that time. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the AC worked great. Overall, I highly recommend staying here. I miss it already!

This is the second time we have rented from these owners. They are very communicative and friendly. The place is as advertised. The accommodations are basic but clean and functional. I stayed here with my 13 yr old and our dog and the space worked well for us. The bed and cot are comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen were very clean.

We rented The Charter Room for the week of July 4th and we absolutely loved it. Russ and Ellen were both wonderful to chat with, and they even let their sweet doggy keep us company one night while we cooked. My 13 month old son had a blast and so did we. The outside shower was probably our favorite! Highly recommend ❤️

Great stay. Fair price. The rental was clean and was within walking distance to everything. HGTV would describe the Charter House as "charming", "quaint", or "cozy". We loved our stay in Ocracoke.

This is nice little suite conveniently located in downtown Okracoke. It is spacious and nicely decorated and has a deck out front and a private shower enclosure (with a rain shower!) off the bathroom. It is dog friendly and has free wi-fi. Other than needing to bring your own bed linens and towels it is well stocked with kitchen items, hand soap, etc. There is just one bed but a roll-away twin bed is provided and there is a spacious closet to store luggage, etc so it is out of the way. The only real disappointment was that there is no washer and dryer. Even just a dryer would have been fabulous as we came home from the beach every day with wet suits, towels, shoes, etc., and had to hang things everywhere to dry them. But overall this was an excellent place to stay and we recommend it!

The Charter House was perfect for my husband and me, plus our pup. You are in close distance to many great restaurants. The owners are super nice! We ate breakfast every morning at the place, I was able to whip up a nice meal with all the great kitchen utensils and pots and pans. Now, the outdoor shower...unbelievable! We will be back again for sure!!!

From beginning to end, everything was perfect. The hosts communications was always timely and pertinent. The checkin process was streamlined and simple. The host also provided a reliable golf-cart at a heavily disconnected price for the duration of the stay. Check was also straight forward. The bungalow was 100 times better than the pictures. Shower was hot the AC was cold. TV and WiFi were good amenities. The only thing I could complain about was that the mattress could have been more comfortable. Otherwise, we plan to stay there again in the future.

Very convenient for visiting Ocracoke.
