We enjoyed every minute we stayed at the canal house. Beautiful,clean, and relaxing. Also was very close to everything ocracoke offers. We had a tropocal storm and Debbie made sure we knew where to park and what to do to keep our family safe. We will defantly be back. Can’t wait!!

The cottage was comfortable and well equipped. Being down past the British Cemetery made for a very quiet week. It reminder me of my early visits to Ocracoke 50 years ago.

Beautiful house, well-appointed!! Everything we needed with plenty of room. Comfortable beds and everything was spotless. Debbie was easy to communicate with. Absolutely would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was as advertised. (Even better than advertised). It was within walking distance of the whole village. We would definitely stay here again. The beds were comfortable. It was very spacious. We loved it!

A little (well not really little) hideaway back in a quiet residential are next to the British Cemetery. Lots of sitting spaces, well stocked kitchen and nice decks. No you don't need coffee filters. Myself and others have bought them and left them. Very well located within walking distance of several restaurants, the light house, Zillies for wine and beer. It's not a problem but the remote controlled lights sometimes respond to the buttons and sometimes not depending on their mood. Overall a wonderful spot. Would definitely rent again.

Everything was perfect! We were surprised at the amount of space, both in and out. The neighbors beside us (locals) were friendly. I would absolutely recommend this property!

This was our second time staying at Canal House & it was even better than the first! It is located on the quiet, canal/sound side with a large yard and much privacy. We enjoyed kayaking the canals behind the house this year, through the marshes and all the way out to the sound. It is amazing at sunset. The house is very roomy with two living rooms, three bed rooms, a sunroom & two baths…plus the outdoor shower which is a godsend after the beach. If you are looking to relax and unwind, Canal House is your place. Debbie is an amazing host with history of the property and all the information you will need for great dining and any necessities. She’s not an email away…her cell number is on the refrigerator and she responds immediately. I use VRBO frequently for business and vacations. It is RARE to find a home this wonderful, accurately advertised and an owner so thoughtful and accommodating. We will definitely return.

Plenty of space, well-stocked kitchen, and walking distance to town. Canal House worked well for 2 couples. Sadly, it was too chilly for us to enjoy the decks and yard, but maybe next time!

This "Old' Ocracoke style home was amazing. It was even better than the pictures in the listing. Very spacious house. Huge yard. Very private and quiet. We really loved the back yard and the deck over the canal. We enjoyed all the wildlife in the marsh and we were in the back yard every second we could for the whole trip. Sunrise was amazing. The night sky and stars were even better. I've been to Ocracoke many times over many years. This is the perfect place to stay for me and my family. We will be back!!

Amazing property. You real feel at home… unless home is in the middle of a city. Debbie was always available with insider tips and anything we needed. The in house laundry would make it ideal for a week long family vacation. Great getaway place to stay, with in walking distance of the harbor and shops. For see shelling we recommend checking in with Wade on the Hathor for the best spots on Ports Mouth. Only issue is you need to bring your own sheets and towels 🤷🏼‍♂️- both are available at the hardware store or thrift store.

We had a wonderful stay at Canal House. Everything was immaculately clean, and exactly as described. We especially enjoyed the waterfront privacy of the back yard and deck. In hindsight, I wish I had invited my daughter and family, as there would have been plenty of space.

What a wonderful experience, plenty to do, Canal House is amazing perfect for our family of 4. Close to everything and if not just a short drive. Owner very quick and responsive. Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds and plenty of room to stretch out. The outdoor shower is awesome after long day’s fishing and being on the beach. Definitely will be back.

This home is in a quiet spot with great marsh views and wildlife; a large, fenced private lot which is rare on the island; bright open house with room to roam and easy single-floor layout; effortless check-in and out; and obviously new upgrades which all made for a low-stress, easy week on Ocracoke. Highly recommended!

In fact, we loved the outdoor shower so much, we used it for virtually all of our showering! The kitchen was perfect and well-stocked for our family…and we used it every morning and evening. And Debbie was a great host with quick and relevant communication (always important for Ocracoke during hurricane season!!). Definitely coming back!

This is an excellent property for your next stay on Ocracoke. The home is very spacious, clean and has everything you will need to feel right at home, away from home. It's close to the village, right on the canal and in a very quiet neighborhood. I enjoyed the history of the house and local recommendations left in the instructions by Ms. Wells. On top of everything you would hope for or expect, the sunroom has ample games and books to enjoy along with a detailed map of Ocracoke. The outside shower was excellent after trips to the beach. I was most impressed with the space and room inside and out. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to stay at the Canal House in Ocracoke. We would definitely return.
