I highly recommend the Marshmallow, absolutely perfect location and everything that you may need is right at hand. Communication with the owner is seamless. The golf cart is a huge perk compared to other places. Can’t wait to go back again!

We had an amazing trip and really enjoyed this house. Much larger than pictured online and Derek was a fantastic host! We had everything we needed and the golf cart and bikes provided were a hit! We will definately visit Marshmellow again!

We loved the location of the property. It is in a very quiet area on the island and Derek has thought of everything one could possibly need. We felt like the house was bigger than it appeared in the listing. Having the golf cart at the house was huge and saved us a few hundred dollars by not having to rent one. Derek was great to work with. My truck had to get towed off the island but he sent someone to the house to try to assist to fix the problem. We’ve really couldn’t have asked for a better host or house.

we had four people and some puppies. the home was absolutely as listed or better. Derek has all the kitchen equipment and gadgets you could need and the only minor issue we had was remedied in a couple of hours and was probably on our party to begin with. great neighborhood, great location, awesome place!!

Derek provided us with the perfect setting for an incredible girl’s getaway! Marshmellow had everything we needed and more. The fully stocked kitchen was incredible (the coffee set-up alone was swoon worthy). We spent every available moment on the many outdoor porches - drinking coffee in the morning and star gazing, watching thunderstorm over the ocean, playing cards, listening to music, having cocktails all night long….. While the sun was up, we used the provided bicycles to ride to the beach, drove the golf cart for dining at the many spectacular Ocracoke restaurants, went kayaking around the island, and took an incredible yoga class with Virginia at Ocracoke Island Yoga. (**** The golf cart was an awesome bonus to this rental!!!***) Derek was the best host, so easy to contact and quick to respond to all of our questions. All in all, this was a fantastic R&R vacation and we feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful spot for our trip!

This is a great house. It fit our needs perfectly. We did not have our dog with us this trip, but would be a great house for a dog. I loved the natural light throughout the upper floor and all the decks and the nice screened porch. The neighborhood was quiet. The kitchen is updated. Plenty of room to relax. Very nice to have access to a golf cart. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Ocracoke. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

First off, thank you to the owner! Above and beyond. Have stayed in multiple places in Ocracoke over the years and this one is perfect for a family that likes their space! With multiple, separate outdoor spaces, room for rowdy, reading and coffee! Extremely well appointed and just overall awesome. Can’t wait to go back in the fall. Thank you again!!

We loved our stay at Marshmellow! Ocracoke is already a very magical place but the houses are usually what makes it seem like you’re living the Ocracoke dream and Marshmellow did not disappoint! The house had everything we needed and the golf cart was probably my favorite part. We were able to go anywhere on the island to eat or shop. Derek was very responsive and a pleasure to rent from.

This is an amazing home to stay in. Very clean and exactly as described. The host was very responsive to any questions we had leading up to our stay and while we were there. Home has all amenities a family would need which helped immensely when packing for the trip (crock pot.. dog crate.. air compressor for off road trucks.. these are underrated major benefits). I was also able to work from the beautiful office while having perfect internet connection via the provided Starlink wifi. This is a great home to stay at for 4 adults and I'd recommend it to everyone.

Have visited Ocracoke several times - this was my favorite rental! Exactly as described. Beds/linens comfy - well appointed kitchen - spent alot of time in the hammock on the porch! Golf cart was a great bonus! Derek was very responsive. Would not hesitate to stay in the future!

House was tucked into a quiet spot just as described and had everything we could need for a relaxing weekend. Screened porches were perfect for morning coffee. And we made good use of the golf cart. Derek was very quick to respond to all communication. Hope to return soon.

We could not have picked a better place to stay in Ocracoke! Marshmellow was everything listed and more! Derek was wonderful and so quick to answer our questions. The house was so comfortable! We loved sitting on the screened-in porch and sitting on the front deck at night looking at the stars. The golf cart was such a bonus and we explored the town on the bikes. Derek was so generous and the house had everything we could’ve asked for. We can’t wait to come back!

We stayed in touch with the owner as our reservation closely followed a tropical storm. The house was perfect, as described, and well situated for a peaceful stay in the Village. Kitchen has everything needed for cooking in (and then some); the barware is impressive. Outdoor spaces gave everyone the privacy needed or gathering space desired. Access to the golf cart made everything feel more like a vacation as we never used our cars except going to the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

The Ocracoke home was perfect for our 4 night vacation! Very neat, clean and nicely decorated. Awesome property. We highly recommend! We enjoyed the bikes, golfcart, and being able to bring our dogs. Owner was great to work with...good communication and welcoming!

We had the most amazing stay at Derek’s home. We boated over from Washington, NC - something we have done many times. What we haven’t experienced before, was an incredible host like Derek that so kindly offered to pick us and our friends (and a weekend worth of stuff) up at the dock to take us to the house! Derek went above and beyond to communicate with us before and during our stay and truly did more than necessary to accommodate our needs. The house was perfect for us, and having the golf cart instead of needing a rental was so convenient! The kitchen had everything we could ever need, the porches were amazing for cocktail hour, and we loved the outside shower and large master bath for getting ready for our evenings out. Truly had the best experience, thank you Derek a million times over, we will be back!!!

The house was amazing!! Derek makes sure you have everything you need and more! We loved the quiet neighborhood! My kids rode bikes around Jackson Circle almost everyday and the golf cart was a plus!! We would definitely stay at Marshmallow again!

We LOVED our stay at MarshMellow! It was the perfect size and layout for our small family. Not only was it very clean when we arrived, but it is VERY well-stocked. The kitchen had quality appliances and cookware with everything a cook needs. The linens were comfortable and the towels were plush. While the location is near the edge of town and requires a longer walk to get to the Silver Lake harbor area, it was wonderfully quiet and the stars were bright with the lack of light pollution. And having access to the owner’s golf cart was a HUGE bonus. Derek is a helpful and responsive host when we had questions about our arrival and after we had checked out. We couldn’t want for more. We will definitely be back!

We had an incredible visit and stay at Marshmellow! The house felt like we were staying at our own home and was well appointed with everything we needed and more. We loved the location - it was easy to get around and we had fun zipping around on the golf cart that’s provided. The house is spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Our only regret is not staying longer! We would love to come back.

Marshmellow is a lovely place! It was absolutely spotless when we arrived. The house has a fully stocked kitchen, with plenty of quality pots & pans, utensils etc. Everything in the house is high quality, oversized chair, leather couch, mattresses, bedding, and oriental rugs. The attention to detail is outstanding. Pure comfort! Derek is a thoughtful host and communication with him is excellent. My service dog loved the big backyard. Derek’s dog even shared his bed and his toys with us. I will definitely stay here again!
