What a fantastic location and home! We have stayed in many homes on Gaston and this by far, was our favorite! The owner was great to work with and check in was easy. The house was very clean and we really enjoyed having the space to spread out with a fantastic walk out basement with lots of room! The bedroom layout was great for extended families or larger groups. Having a second refrigerator downstairs was a nice touch! The property’s landscaping was truly amazing and a blessing to look out at! The kids loved fishing right off the point and the dock, catching nice sized bass. The property is close enough to the main lake and Goat Island, as well as a gas station, it made going out boating very easy. We can’t wait to stay here again!!

The house was all that we were expected and more. Well equipped (big time), clean, spacious and comfortable. The communication with the owner was pleasant and efficient. We are looking forward to have an opportunity to stay again.

A family of 14 gathering - the house and property were perfect. All of the kids caught fish. The house was well stocked and had beautiful views. Definitely recommend.

The house and property were perfect for our family. 3 generations ranging from age 57 to 1 and everyone loved it! The kids spent all day out in the lake swimming. Great sloping sand in the water. The lake views are wonderful! House is situated right on a corner, so the yard is large and has a large water front. Nice open area of the lake which was great for the jet skis, kayaks and paddle boards!

Our family has visited Lake Gaston every year for the past 26 years, and this might be the best house we've stayed at. Owners were very easy to communicate with and left thorough, detailed instructions on every aspect of the house, as well as the check-in / check-out process. House had everything we could have possibly needed. Perfect stay.

I’ve been vacationing at Lake Gaston since 1974 and have never stayed at a more perfect property. From location to waterfront to the beautiful house, it was the best vacation ever.

I have been renting beach and lakefront properties for over 20 years and this one by far leads the pack!

The house is amazing, the dock is amazing and the lake is even more amazing. We had monster Bass swimming by the dock daily. We caught Largemouth, White Perch, White Crappie, Catfish and Bluegill right from the dock. The owners are down-to-earth folk who are easy to communicate with and left a detailed PDF with all questions answered. Check-in and check-out could not have been easier. (Although check-out was sad, cuz we wanted to stay!) If you like nature and a relaxing yet fun-filled vacation, this is the spot. Your only regret, will be not booking this place. We will totally return. We usually book two houses during the year, every year, and usually never hit the same place twice, to keep things fresh, but this house will be the exception. Beautiful, well appointed house that offered beautiful lake views. Very nice kitchen with luxury stainless appliances. Game room was also very nice. Loved the pool table. The owner was very accommodating and went the “extra mile” in providing home and area information, including answering questions to help make our stay more enjoyable. Our family had a great time and would like to stay there again.

This is the second year we have stayed at Kevin's house. And we will choose it again. It is a perfect location, perfect house, and perfect owner. We have used VRBO for years and this is our favorite. Such a memory making place. This year with all that is happening in the world, it was nice to feel close to normal for a week.

A beautiful home located right on the beautiful lake! The home had everything you needed in the kitchen to cook and an amazing area for entertainment - pool table, fussball, large tv, etc,, plus many board games. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery! Definitely will be coming back!

We have rented houses for years at both Lake Gaston and Kerr Lake (Bugs Island). Dogwood Manor is best of all of them. We particularly liked the dock, the short walk from it to the house, and its location on the lake. The house is well equipped, provided linens and towels, and is very spacious for large groups of people. We are looking forward to returning there next year with our family of 10. We will bring our own cue sticks, darts, and ping pong paddles.

We really enjoyed this beautiful home in a very nice location of the lake. Kevin (owner) was very easy to work with, very quick to respond to my e-mails. It was a great family vacation. I highly recommend this property.

Completely enjoyable. This property has it all. The house had more than enough room and everything needed to stay a week. From kitchen supplies and bed linens to downstairs games and wifi-connected speakers to the dock and throughout the house, this house can not be beat. I can't thank the owners enough for sharing this home to all of us in the short term rental world. We have stayed in several properties over the years and this by far was our favorite. The owners were fast to communicate, easygoing and professional. The property sits on a small peninsula that offers privacy and a commanding view of the cove. Morning coffee watching ducks swim and an afternoon cornhole game while the sun set were favorites. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay, this coming from a guy that packs way too many things. There is a very nice 6-burner Weber grill, pre-piped for gas also. (I usually bring my own weber charcoal grill, but didn't.) There are plenty of board games, puzzles and cards for when you don't want to play footsball, ping-pong or pool. (while using the Airplay to to listen to your music...) The cove this house overlooks is very nice, calm water with occasional boats rolling by pulling tubes or wakeboarders. There's plenty of room for them and we, the ones that float while holding a drink. My Lab and I paddleboarded together throughout this area without any problems. My Lab also liked to hang out on the dock with me late at night and watch the fish swim in the glow of the green light beneath us. Relaxing indeed. I can't say enough good things about this place. Except one, forget everything I wrote, so I can still reserve my time next year.

Wonderful home and property on Lake Gaston that could easily handle our whole family gathering of 10. It was perfect for the three children 3 and under. Very well appointed and equipped for all our needs. We diverted from the beach when Hurricane Florence hit the North Carolina coast and were so thankful that we found such a great respite where we could all enjoy the restful sunrises and sunsets while still playing in the water.

This was our families 8th year staying at Lake Gaston , but our first stay at this beautiful home ! We had the best time ever ! This home is so beautiful, bright & very comfortable , has everything you will need to have a great time ! Super close to the Food Lion which is a big plus ! The downstairs has a great gameroom , dock is perfect also !!! Our family certainly plans to return next summer ! And what made it even better we were able to bring our little' fur baby ' along which made this trip just AMAZING !!! The pictures and description of this property do not do it justice pretty much sums up my review. If you want to stay to stay in the house of your dreams located on as nice a location on a lake as you can imagine, book this place now. Never had to contact Kevin during the stay as he kept me well informed before ever leaving my house. Plenty of places for fishing between the great pier and the 400 feet of bulkhead that encompasses this property. We had a great time and hope you will have us back. To answer your question Kevin 50 plus fish in this short trip was great and will be back to catch some bigger ones, Thanks again, Bobby

This was our first visit to Lake Gaston and this house was perfect for our 10 family members. View of lake was beautiful and we ate lots of meals from the balcony. Slope to lake was very gentle and dock was great for our boat & jet ski. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to return!!!!

What can I say. I grew up on lakes in NY finger lake region and later in life in Austin, TX. I can now say that Lake Gaston and specifically this property has raised the bar for everything that I have seen. I almost don't want to write this so I can have a chance of booking this property in the future. Huge lot, extra large basement/gameroom, exceptional master bathroom, nice landscaping, privacy, large deck, clean lake with sandy bottom, perfect location on the cove where it's calm but close to gas stations and the main part of lake, quick boat ride to Wobble Island which is the main tie-up/party spot on the lake....I could go on. I shall return!
