Everything about our stay from booking the property to touring the area was easy and fun. Found lots of fun things to do in Portsmouth and Newport. And Tiverton area was delightful. The property was charming with history and very up to date at the same time. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I loved staying at Schoolhouse No 1 and embracing the peaceful surroundings. This is a very convenient location if you like to walk to the coffee shop and shops, etc.

We toured the New England states, with Rhode Island last on our list. The schoolhouse was SO cute and everything inside was very nice. Our children loved this location the most because of the schoolhouse and the nearby farm animals (they had to visit several times a day). It is such a unique property, that it is sure to stay in our memories forever. We highly recommend it!

The Schoolhouse is just a really cool place to stay. You might as well be in a historic property when you are in such a cool, historic town and area like Tiverton! It is well-appointed and cozy, convenient to everything, and yet private. We were there for Election Night 2020 so the history of the place felt perfect.

We had a great time staying at the schoolhouse. It was perfect for our little family and the host was really responsive too!

great property in a fantastic area. fronts onto a busy street but property has space in the back with privacy. cleanliness was below what was expected during covid, but overall a very enjoyable stay. we have already recommended friends who are going this Fall.

This is such a special and unique property. We were thrilled and hope to be back. The school house is clean and cozy. We loved the historical touches such as old desks and the frame photos. This guest house is a 10!!

We were coming from the hustle and bustle of NYC and this was the perfect spot to decompress and slow down again on our vacation. The beach nearby was fantastic, the restaurants and ice cream were delicious and the house was spotless, fun and well appointed. The goats and a pig to visit on the farm were icing on the cake. Highly recommend!

First and foremost, loved the peace & quiet. Enjoyed the magazines and articles about the schoolhouse, and were very pleased with the beautiful renovation. Perfect for a family of four! Close to everything, lots of helpful information about local things to do and see.

Kristin and her family have done an amazing job renovating this one-room schoolhouse. They could not have made it easier for us and we had a wonderful time. Small touches like a welcome note on the schoolhouse blackboard to a dozen eggs from their family farm were thoughtful and much appreciated. We will definitely be staying here again!

I always book the rental for our sisters’ trip and this one got me a big thumbs up! The home is just as it is pictured online. This rental was very well stocked. In addition to providing fresh eggs and a great selection of coffee; there were other essentials like butter, salt and sugar. The host is also very responsive. I rent using Homeaway several times a year and I have never had a host contact me shortly after check in to make sure we settle in ok or had any questions – how nice! The home is filled with historical items with descriptions under many of them which we enjoyed. The home (school) may be old but it is very comfortable and a unique rental. I would highly recommend this rental property and this host.

Loved everything about this place. Perfect for me and my husband for a get away to Tiverton. We had visited Tiverton last year and saw this property and were dying to try it. It did not disappoint. The owners have done a top notch job renovating and we wanted for nothing. Highly recommended!

This was our second stay at the Old Schoolhouse. It is beautifully restored and has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. There’s lots to explore nearby, but we like to relax and enjoy the charm of the house itself. Kristin is a wonderful host and has thought of everything!

The Schoolhouse was amazing. Well appointed and immaculate with lots and lots of charm. Really enjoyed the fireplace and there were Christmas candles and a real tree. Loved our time there.

It was perfect for our trip. We were visiting Providence and Rhode Island. The property was well maintained and clean. The bed was so comfortable. The house had everything thing we needed and more. We had excellent meals at two resurants near by. The Four corners grill and The Boat House. However, we were sorry we did not get to explore the grounds because of the rainy weather. This quaint historical gem has been restored perfectly, kept maticulously, and decorated with an artful eye. I highly recommend this lovely unique accomodation located in a lovely New England village.

This home is beautifully renovated and tastefully decorated with historic items. Couldn't have been more impressed or happy.

We decided at the last minute to go on a weekend trip with my family. With a toddler and a 6 month old, it is sometimes too hard to plan vacations! Kristin was very accommodating and understanding of our situation and made every effort to make our stay as enjoyable as she could. The house itself was beautiful, down to every last detail. It is the perfect mixture of rustic and modern furnishings. It was also very clean and spacious. The king size bed was comfortable and the bunk beds were so much fun. I just love how Kristin thinks of ways to really accommodate her guests. There's the option of buying meat/fish at their farm as well as jams/jellies. There's extra towels, blankets, pillows and even games for kids. The distance to Newport was just right, and not too far. The location is also at a nice spot where you could walk to various shops and of course, Grays ice cream. It was truly a pleasure staying at the schoolhouse and working with Kristin. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend this property to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully restored schoolhouse. We stayed the week before school started so it was fun to compare what schools used to be like with what they are like now. My daughter is still talking about it. Tiverton (and the surrounding areas) is a nice town and it was within 30 minutes to the beach we wanted to visit. We enjoyed the farm stand and the animals on the farm.

We were in town attending a wedding at The Meeting House and chose the Schoolhouse for its proximity. The quaint and historic charm of the house totally set the tone for a fun-filled wedding weekend. The surrounding town and beautiful scenery put us in the perfect mood to celebrate with our family (it also helped that we were driving distance from vineyards, breweries, and a local distillery).
