Quarter mile away from Caspar Beach, 8 minutes away from main street Mendocino. Pet friendly + hot tub and a deck on the second floor were massive cherries on the top.

From pictures you can tell that it's going to be a nice spot, and that is all true. I felt the rental company went above and beyond to ensure that the house was clean and had sweet little touches added in too (fresh flowers, dog treat, folded towels). All of this was noticed and made us feel very welcome! I will prioritize staying with this company again.

Took a day to learn all of the light switches... lots of them and not always obvious where some lights were being controlled.And could use some serious minor mtx... one of the upstairs decks was in pretty bad shape and we never were able to lock the doors other than the front one. Not a worry really but seemed kind of odd.The one thing really needed however is a refrigerator upgrade. The only place I've rented without an ice maker. At the very least the housekeepers should have filled the ice cube trays. Upon arrival, we had no ice until the second day!The other odd thing; if all the bedrooms were occupied (as was our case, minus 1) you have 8 people... but everything seems designed for 6. Only 6 places at dining table, 6 glass cups, 6 plates, 6 seats in TV room, etc. We were constantly moving chairs from one room to another.

I have been in more updated rentals in this neighborhood, but the views can’t be beat! We even saw whales while sitting on the porch. I loved that every room had an opening window or door and would see the ocean. Would ask that the property managers do some yard work as the lawn sitting area was completely over grown and we could not enjoy it, but you can’t see the ocean from there anyways so with our size group we just sat on the decks and enjoyed the waves and seals barking.

The rooms upstairs were very small the size of a walk-in closet. There is a fenced in backyard which is nice for our dogs. I think they should update everything inside the house because it was very expensive to stay there. The refrigerator was small and no where to store all the food we brought.

The specific details upon entering the home to congratulate us on a 15 year anniversary were great. So sweet. View was amazing! Cleanliness was amazing! Staff was great! The only thing that was old school was that you have to drive to a separate location to pick up the keys and drop them off. But it’s fine. We will definitely be back!

The house was great, wood stove kept it warm when the power was out for a bit, and the large dining area and living room meant everyone could spread out and relax together but not too close (teenagers..sigh...). Hot tub was great contrast to the cold and rainy wether and got a lot of use. Kitchen was great and well stocked. This was our second time with Mendocino Preferred and won't be our last!

Loved the house — fantastic primary suite with view of the coastline and ocean. The other 3 bedrooms are pretty small, especially for three couples. But everything was super comfortable. The kitchen and great room was spacious and well laid out. Fun for hanging out. Nice to have a hot tub as well. My only true complaint is the antiquated check in process. I’m now used to the typical simplicity of other house rental check ins. Having to deal with a in-town rental office (circa 1998) was annoying but not a deal killer. I’d definitely stay there again!

We had a wonderful time staying at Sea Garden! Working with the property management was easy and convenient - all the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The location of the property was amazing - beautiful views and a short walk to the beach. The house itself was perfect. Amazing windows and views of the ocean from every room. Very clean and had everything we needed for our holiday. There were some very sweet touches for us when we arrived including candies and some brandy! Also great amenities for the dog, including towels (it was rainy while we were there), bowls, dog bags, treats, and a toy! Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had a wonderful holiday!

The house was fantastic! It sits just perfectly between beautiful parks & reserves so long walks with spectacular views are right out the door. Get in the car and shopping /restuarants are just minutes away in either direction. Accommodations were as described - with views to the ocean from the large master suite , and all living areas. Though it was just my husband and me, the large rooms and upstairs area would be perfect for a large family or a few couples. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our main meals - plenty of pots, pans, cutlery and dishes. The hot tub was nice and warm though the jets could have been a little stronger.... Still I would rate this place a 10+ and definitely would return.

This location is truly magnificent with ocean views, deer grazing morning and night and seals barking nearby. A bit of updating to this 70’s house would be welcomed as it is showing its age.

The location could not have been better - 10 mins from downtown, right next to Cabrillo point lighthouse, and short drive/walking distance to the beach. Mendocino Preferred has been our go to rental company for years so we searched for a three bedroom, three bath property. Sea Garden worked out for us but we were a little disappointed in the small size of the upstairs bedrooms as the photos make them look much larger than they are. Also the third bathroom was very small and downstairs. The master bedroom and en-suite bath was very nice. Overall it worked out. This property would be well suited for a family with kids. The location was great in between Mendocino and Fort Brag with a great view of the ocean.

The house is large, with lots of space for gathering and or finding a comfy nook for some reading/alone time. The house had everything we needed, and if the decor/furniture wasn't the newest or latest style, it was comfortable, very clean and suited us quite nicely. A big bonus was the completely closed in backyard; a wonderful amenity for our 4-legged family members. Additionally, the property is incredibly close to useable beaches and Mendocino is just a few miles down the road. We loved this property and will definitely be back!

We got off to a rocky start: The key wouldn't open the front door so we called and were told to use the side door. When I started the oven to cook appetizers, the oven caught fire and emitted nauseous fumes. We turned it off and tried again about 15 minutes later. Again the fumes and fire so we called the management. They sent a repairman out right away. He told us not to use the oven (it caught fire when he turned it on) and he brought a brand new toaster oven for us to use. He set it up for us and was on his way. We were able to have another fabulous stay at Sea Garden and plan to return again next year. Management is so helpful, professional, and friendly. See you again next March.
