This home could not have been more ideal for six women "of a certain age" to celebrate 20 years of friendship. We each had our own bedroom and the gathering spaces, spacious, well-stocked kitchen and beautiful dining room were perfect. The hosts were very response and there were detailed instructions about everything we needed to know. We unanimously give this home 5 stars.

House was exactly as pictured. No need to hesitate on this one. The house is as large as advertised. Beds were very comfortable with nice linens. Kitchen had everything you would need to prepare any meal for a large group. Very nice setting with large outdoor areas. 5 stars all the way around.

Lovely big “farm house” with amazing equipped gourmet kitchen, fabulous ‘great’ room, antique furnishings with modern amenities. I have never rented a better equipped place: paper towels, napkins enough plates, forks and tableware for the relatives! Beautiful and peaceful grounds in horse country. It snowed and the kids made snowmen. Since we live in warm climate it was an adventure for the kids. Enough wine glasses for all and a chef stove! Rent this for a long weekend in the country with the people you love and miss!

We are a group of 8 college friends (for 40+ years) who stayed at this lovely home for our annual get-together. It was absolutely wonderful! It was super clean, beautifully decorated, very spacious with numerous rooms to sit and chat, comfy beds, 4 full bathrooms, thermostats in every room, etc. The large kitchen (always a focal point for our group) was extremely well stocked. We wanted for nothing. There is a fire pit out back which we thoroughly enjoyed. The location is near a number of parks (hiking trails) and some cute small towns. The owner is super nice and extremely communicative. I would certainly book again. If you stay here, you will not be disappointed.

We had a great stay, would definitely book again. The fireplace remotes didn’t work and there were some lightbulbs that were out. Aside from that everything was perfect.

This was a beautiful location - if a bit of a drive to do and see things in the area (we just weren’t familiar with Connecticut). It was extremely clean, well stocked and had a wonderful dining area and outdoor patio with a fire pit. The weather was perfect and we spent every evening on the patio. Communication was excellent. Beds were comfortable. My only minor comment is that several of the bedrooms had no closet and we had difficulty with the upstairs tv’s. We had a great time! We went to the Ferris Creamery which was recommended THREE times! The local grocery stores were great. I would definitely recommend this property.

Beautiful country farmhouse. Quiet rural retreat that is near many of CT's charming small towns. House was very well maintained and equipped for a very comfortable stay. Just lovely!!

The whole group had a great time, with plenty of space to either have a large group doing things together or for everyone to do their separate things in peace. Great location with plenty of activities close by that can accommodate all ages.

Lovely stay with family and friends
What a wonderful space to getaway from the city for a long weekend with friends! The house was incredibly spacious, clean, warm, and inviting. We especially enjoyed the patio and fire pit. We had everything we needed, plus communication was super smooth with our wonderful host. The clear directions around the house were very helpful and the property was enjoyed by all. Would absolutely return for another weekend with our friends and family-- highly recommend!

Fantastic property
From the very beginning, through the planning and the checkout this was an amazing VRBO. Janet was so helpful in deciding if the property would be a good fit for my family. She made some very impressive suggestions including Vazzys, Ricci (salon) and the creamery (we went 5 times in 6 days). She also helped us figure out the municipal swimming pool which is very nice. The house is very well stocked with plenty of towels, trash bags, detergent, blankets/towels. There are lots of extras like ping pong, corn hole, board games and outdoor balls. The fire pit was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the cooler weather and beautiful scenery. This was the first time my extended family had gathered since before COVID and it was the perfect place to get together, relax, see a new part of the country for us and make new memories. Thank you Steve and Janet!

Family Reunion, April 2022
This home and property are beautiful and was an absolutely perfect setting for our family gathering. There were plenty of comfy beds and bathrooms for our large group. We enjoyed family dinners in the spacious dining room and thoroughly enjoyed the multiple living spaces, both indoors and outdoors. Janet was available for every question or need that we had and is a very gracious host. If you have a large group and are looking for a relaxing getaway to just spend time together, this is your spot!

Beautiful Peaceful Rural Property
Our recent stay at Eden Hill was wonderful. We picked this property to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. There were 9 of us total, 6 adults, 2 teens, one child and a dog. We did not feel crowded at all. Plenty of space and privacy for everyone. The property was very clean and well kept, despite the age of the house. Janet was a very gracious and professional host and answered all our questions before and during the stay. The dining room was perfect for our family meals. There is truly nothing out here but peace and woods and winding narrow roads, so if you are not used to that kind of thing, be prepared for a quiet experience. Which for us was a very welcome change. Highly recommend this property for family reunions and get togethers.

Best house!
We had the most incredible stay. The house is great - the beds have great mattresses and linens. There are also so many beds and bathrooms - we had 8 adults sleep so comfortably. The master suite is next level luxury and the kitchen has EVERY item you could ever need - even if you are a master chef. The yard is perfection - gorgeous landscaping/flowers and so much seating.
The location was great - 10 minutes to grocery and liquor store - and so close to a few hikes and parks.
We also were able to hire a local chef to cook a dinner for us one night, as well a local massage company to come to the house for treatments.
It was a truly wonderful weekend away!!

Beautiful, spacious home perfect for large family gatherings.
Perfect home for large family gathering in the CT woods. House was well kept and spacious. Kitchen and oversized dining room made a family dinner for 15 very comfortable. Host was available 24/7. We had a senior citizen on oxygen with us and they went out of their way to make a generator available in case power went out during expected snow storm. Made sure snow was removed promptly to allow us access to our cars and provided ample wood and supplies for living room fireplace.

Big roomy house with attentive owner
Much expanded upgraded original farmhouse with a huge great room, very nice kitchen, big dining room and lovely rooms and nooks galore. It retains its history but with thoroughly updated lighting, sounds, HVAC etc. 2 sets of W/D's also come in handy. Lovely property with extremely expansive lawns, big old trees and gardens/landscaping near the house and patio. Owners highly responsive to any question or issue.

Spacious home; perfect location for a Zhen getaway.
The house was immaculate. Plenty of space for everyone to have their quiet time alone as well as many spaces to gather as a family. The board games, outside fire pit, large dining table, comfy family room with plenty of seating were all wonderful. My mom and aunt also stayed on property and they both said they wanted to stay there permanently. One of my favorite features was the heated floor in the master bath.

Wonderful Country Home
Our family rented Janet’s beautiful home for the Thanksgiving holiday. The kitchen was amazing to cook in with everything we needed. We loved eating in the large dining room. Our family was able to all eat together which was great! We loved hanging out in the living room with the 2 seating areas and table. The kids enjoyed playing in the yard and the adorable swing. It was a wonderful home and setting for Thanksgiving. Janet was amazing to work with and would recommend this home.

Great Family Bonding Time in Newtown
We had a wonderful time. The home is exactly as pictured, the kitchen had everything we needed from cooking utensils to serving bowls and even a hand mixer. Very spacious, we didn't feel like the 12 of us were tripping over each other. The yard was beautiful too. We would definitely come back again.

Home Away From Home
This beautiful home was the site of our family reunion. We could not have chosen a better location. There were enough bedrooms for all of us and plenty of common spaces both inside and out. The house was well appointed with every cooking/serving item you could ask for. The beds were comfortable with top quality linens, and there were a generous amount of towels. We enjoyed outdoor and indoor games that were provided as well.
Communication with Janet (the owner) and Linda (property manager) was prompt. A small issue that we had with the coffee pot was taken care of immediately.
I highly recommend this home if you have a large group.

Great home for large family
The house and property were wonderful, well maintained and supplied. The owner and her house manager were very helpful and informative. This was a family reunion of sorts and it worked out well having enough bedrooms and plenty of outdoor space for the kids to play in. I would rent it again.
