This spot is perfect for those looking to stay on Capitol Hill. It's just a few doors down from the metro, and feels very peaceful. Newer bathroom and kitchen, full cooking facilities, and well-appointed and decorated. You must understand there is--unavoidably--noise in old buildings, so if hearing footsteps above occasionally will drive you nuts, this probably isn't your place. If, however, you like vintage buildings, an authentic neighborhood experience and a thoughtfully and comfortably decorated home-away-from-home, it's a perfect spot.

We enjoyed our stay at the Eastern Market Suite near the Capitol. The location is perfect for touring the Capitol and Smithsonian Museums. We were able to take the Metro everywhere as the Eastern Market stop is so close. The photographs of the Eastern Market Suite in Vrbo do not do the beautiful apartment justice. It has original Victorian charm and is yet comfortable. We would stay again!

The apartment is in a charming neighborhood, super conveniently located for the metro, Eastern Market, groceries, restaurants, bars, coffee, etc. It's a lovely place, comfortable, attractive and private. Communication with the owner about the details was super straightforward, and everything about the place was as described. This was our second time staying here, and we would happily stay again. Just a block or two away from the metro, for coming and going to the Mall, as well as offering tons of fun spots for food/drink and strolling right in the neighborhood.

This property is in an excellent location. Conveniently close to Eastern Market Metro, and many awesome restaurants. Was so nice to walk to dinner! We especially loved Hank's Oyster Bar, Aqua Al 2, and Ted's Bulletin and Cava Mezze. Our communication with Kirk was very prompt and thorough. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. The only minor complaint would be the noise from the people above(could hear them walking); but that was mentioned in the property description; and again minor. We would definitely stay here again. Loved it!

I did not know anything about Washington when my family decided to go there. I came across Keith’s place and it sounded very good. Well when we got there I was surprised how beautiful the neighborhood is. The Metro is super close so is Trader Joe’s and the CVS. The neighborhood is quit and the bed is very good. I was considering not leaving but I had to go back to work...

This was the perfect location for us for a quick family trip to DC. The metro was a block away, Trader Joe's was too! The place was just what we needed in terms of space, provisions, and cleanliness. The information provided prior to the trip was thorough and what we needed for our stay. This is a great spot for a couple of friends, a small family, or couple who like the ease of being on foot and having a lot of amenities nearby. Thanks!

This property was just as advertised if not better. Location is very accessible to everything and less than 15 min from DCA !! Our host was VERY accessible and accommodating. We have already booked another visit !!!

Perfectly sized unit in older, nicely updated unit in appealing neighborhood. Host was very accommodating and friendly. Furnishing in unit very nicely updated with high end appliances. Would advise to check map carefully - this rental is in DC Southeast and may or may not be convenient to the location of your activities. I was, however, able to walk to the Capitol in less than 20 minutes.

We are a retired couple from New Orleans who visited D.C. in October 2018. We carefully selected this apartment after quite a bit of study. We didn't go wrong! Our stay was delightful on all accounts. This Capitol Hill-Eastern Market apartment is lovely and extremely well decorated, equipped, and comfortable. The kitchen even has a Viking range and Fisher Paykel refrigerator and dishwasher. We absolutely loved the location! It is excellent for morning walks, access to several parks (including one at the Navy Yard on the river), and within easy walking distance of 35-40 restaurants. A walk to the U.S. Supreme Court building and the Capitol takes about 20 minutes. In mid-morning and the mid-afternoon the museums are a quick and easy uber ride of 10 minutes, 15 at the most. Like any big city, avoid the rush hour traffic. There is also a metro stop only a block away, so taking the metro is another good option for getting around. "Barracks Row", a portion of 8th St. S.E., is a block away and home to a wide variety of restaurants including: Balkan, Belgian,Thai, Italian, Pakastani/Indian, Greek, Mexican, Seafood, Sushi, and, of course, American. A few other restaurants are located on nearby Pennsylvania Avenue. If we return to D.C. again, we will definitely want to stay at this apartment again. A somewhat trivial comment, but perhaps worth mentioning, is that there are no ice trays. The refrigerator, like most refrigerators made primarily for sale in Europe and elsewhere--but not in the U.S.--does not have an ice maker. So if you want ice during your stay, bring an ice tray or two. Don't hesitate to rent his apartment! It is one of the nicest and best located apartments we have ever rented and definitely deserves a 5 star rating. David and Carolyn Carnes New Orleans, LA

Sometimes your trip is enhanced when you stay somewhere and feel like a local. This property was great for that - close to the metro, Trader Joes, the historic Eastern market, etc. We loved it for that reason. Kirk sent us all of the relevant info we needed and more. The only thing we didn't love was the peeling paint in the living room and the weird stuff underneath the bathroom fan that blew on the wall. Towels could definitely be upgraded but those things aside - charming townhome on beautiful street, well appointed and clean. We would definitely stay again.

Clean and convenient

We loved our stay at Eastern Market Suites. It is located just a few blocks from our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren so the location is perfect for us. The property is very well kept and had everything we needed for a week long stay. Kirk, the host, is kind, responsive, informative and engaging. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to the grandkids!

Very happy with our stay. Comfortable spot for my son and I to have a great weekend trip to DC. Eastern Market suites is 1-2 blocks from a metro station, pharmacy, Starbucks, and great restaurants. We were able to arrange to drop off our luggage early and leave our bags a little late for more sightseeing time. Very, very clean kitchen, bathroom and bedding. Highly recommend!

We really like the inner city location with quaint neighborhood restaurants. There were many nearby with very good food. We were close to Metro Buses, Trains and DC circulators (just 50c) that took us to all locations of visit. Kirk was very prompt and made sure all accomodations were supplied;Even a Parking permit to park anywhere on the street. and we always found a spot near the apt. Overall a very good place to stay and visit DC. I would definitely stay here again. Vince and Meg

The home is quaint and lovely. Nicely redone with a cute backyard, where you can chill out on a cool evening. The location was perfect for a number of reasons. A relative lives nearby and the Eastern Market area is so vibrant and full of great restaurants and pubs. Had a great time. I would definitely stay again on another visit to Washington, DC!

This VRBO is in a good location with access to everything needed. We walked everywhere, yet public transportation was easily accessible. Kirk was great at responding to our questions before and during. Entry was easy, we felt secure and everything worked well.

Terrific location for ease of access by just walking to Barracks Row restaurants plus the 8th & I Friday night parade. We were surprised at how quiet it was inside the apartment considering a somewhat busy street just outside. Kirk immediately responded to a lack of internet access by contacting the service provider to get it restored right after we arrived.

Having a comfortable place to call 'home' for a week was a lifesaver! The subway and public transportation was conveniently close! Also there were so many great restaurants in the neighborhood! I would highly recommend this building for a brief or extended stay in Washington DC area!!

We had a wonderful and comfortable stay at the EasternMarketSuites. The apartment is spacious, very comfortable, only afew blocks from our family. It's so well equipped and Kirk is a great and accommodating host. Couldn't be better!

I'm about to check out after a 4 night stay. I had been a little worried about just how far the Metro really was because on the maps it shows that it's in a park. But in real life it's more of a pocket park. It truly is only about 200 steps from the front door to the entrance of the Metro and I take short steps. When I arrived Kirk greeted me and could not have been kinder and showed me around the place. It's beautifully done and you won't be the least bit disappointed. And he changes the door code for each new guest. I have felt safe and very comfortable during the entire week. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and I hope to be able to come back. BTW, when I contacted Kirk in advance to ask if I might add an additional day on the front of my visit, he said it was booked but referred me to the Capitol Hill Hotel very nearby. It was a wonderful referral and I would certainly stay at that hotel again as well. I definitely prefer Kirk's place, but as an alternative for a night or so the hotel was great.

First time in DC and staying at this location made it great, beautiful place close to metro, restaurants and eastern markets. You can walk to all the sites if you choose. Kirk the owner helped out with suggestions on things to do and how best to do them. Can't wait to return to DC will definitely try to stay here again.

Kirk's property is absolutely fantastic! The condo itself is very nice and comfortable. The location is perfect! Sooo close to the metro, restaurants, shopping! It really made our trip more enjoyable than being in a hotel! We loved it and if we return, will stay here. I will also recommend it to my friends and family for their future visits! Just blocks from Eastern Market, this Capitol Hill property is light filled and has a great deck and deep back yard to stretch out in!

My wife & I spent a week in DC at this property. What an excellent property and location. The property is on a beautiful and quiet tree lined street. We drove in from MA, parked our car right in front with the permit provided and never moved it again. 100 steps is no lie to the Eastern Market Metro Station which was so convenient after a long day of walking around DC. We felt like we had our own little home away from home. Kirk, the owner, communicated frequently with us and answered all our questions. Also many great restaurants and the Marine Barracks-Washington are a block away on 8th St. SE. If we get back to DC, we'd come looking or this place again !!

My son and I were in town to check out where he would be working during his summer internship and found this house to be in a great location. The owner was on site when we arrived and explained the condo to us. It is beautifully restored and updated, the pull out sofa was comfortable as was the bed. We will be back.
