We loved the property and Dottie was a great host who was always available if we needed to reach her. 1 minute from beach!!

This great, comfortable townhouse is located close to the beach just across the street and close to town! conveniently located to excellent stores! Right next door is a beach cafe with excellent food and drinks! Pool is very clean and private! 10 * out of 5! Joanna

My husband, myself and a friend recently stayed on this property for 3 glorious weeks. We had an amazing vacation and loved Costa Rica. We loved the pool which was where we met many of the condo residents which was great! We met many locals and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The condo itself is also very lovely and we had everything we needed. We loved the owners art work displayed throughout. Our only suggestions would be would be to get a new coffee pot. It took hours to get even a cup brewed. The other suggestion was to put screens on the windows/doors. There were many windy days and we would have loved to open the doors for the cross breeze instead of always using the air conditioning. This condo is in a great location, with beach access just around the corner. It is also in close proximity to restaurants outside of the downtown core, and small grocery store. An added bonus was the Sunday morning market a short walk away. The condo was very well furnished, and quite comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with dishes and utensils, pots, pans, rice cooker, baking dishes, and even a small slow cooker. It was obvious to us that the owner put a lot of thought into what vacationers may require, and did not scrimp on equipping this unit. We will certainly consider this unit again for any future visits to Playas del Coco, and recognize the irony that this review may in fact increase competition to obtain it. This condo is a gem! Owner responds to questions right away and is very helpful! Condo as described; very comfortable and clean. Other condo owners/renters wonderful! So close to the beach, corner store, restaurants and downtown. Loved this place! Pura Vida! Kathy

Very clean and you have every thing you need. The beds are perfect to sleep. We felt like home. We recommand this condo.

We enjoyed our stay so much! The place was conveniently located within walking distance to the beach and several restaurants. We usually fixed our own meals so the well equipped kitchen made it easy to do. We enjoyed spending afternoons in the pool and most of the time had the entire place to our selves. The unit was very quiet comfortable and relaxing.

Great experience

We absolutely loved everything about our stay in Playas del Coco. The apartment complex comprises 10 units and one pool and a small laundry facility. Our two-bedroom unit was perfect for our family of four with two young kids. We swam in the pool several times per day. We met other residents; every one was friendly, helpful and enjoyable. The beach was literally a 2-3 minute walk from the apartment. We had a rental car and drove to the downtown, where we enjoyed excellent food at beachside bars and many pina coladas. The souvenir shopping was great fun. And the kids were fond of grabbing lunch at the tiny street-side sands--chicken on a stick! I cannot recommend Playas del Coco or our rental highly enough. It was an amazing family vacation and I hope to return again, staying longer than one week next time!

There were very few people in the complex, we had the (clean) pool to ourselves. Grounds are well kept and felt safe. It is an easy walk to the beach, and right across the street is a fabulous restaurant with an amazing sunset view. The condo does not have a view of the ocean, or really any view from inside. We set up some chairs on the upstairs balcony for a view of the complex and mountains. The power was out when we arrived and the wifi never worked, but the cleaning person, Lila, went out of her way to help us get things resolved as best she could.

The house was only tidy, but not clean, the security was only at night, we had a door closed and we did not have a key so we have to open it by force therefore we lost the deposit, since the manager arrived until after 8 pm and all our dry clothes were there, the lady of the cleaning never came but the service was charged. The internet and wifi did not work. We do not recommend it

This unit is spacious enough for a family of 4 and was located in a nice garden with a lovely calm and clean, refreshing pool just in front of the condo entrance. We were usually the only ones in the pool, as there are only 10 units. It was a great location, only one street from the beach. We loved watching the sunsets as the kids jumped the waves. It is an easy walk to town (about 10 - 15 minutes). A taxi was only $2 (1000 Colones). We would usually walk the path along the beach to main part town and taxi back. There was a delicious little pizza and gelato place ( non solo pizza) and a mini grocery store on a few minutes away. We were comfortable and it was a great place for a few nights at the beach for us. The owner was very responsive to any concerns we had, replying to our emails very quickly. The unit and its furniture/appliances are not brand new, top of the line, or with fancy decor, but at $75/night, we thought it was excellent value. The owner is an artist and the walls are mostly covered with her colourful art. The queen bed is quite soft, which I found very comfortable, but may not be for everyone. I don't recommend this unit for people looking for a party central - as the neighbours are often long term owners and renters, and wouldn't appreciate loud partying. There were some insects in the unit from time to time, but this is Costa Rica - and that is quite standard for the location. The air conditioning worked well, keeping it cool. We found it a relaxed and easy place to come back to after beach and explorations.

My husband and I rented this condo for 2 months. It is in a great location, right across from the beach as stated. You could here the waves crashing especially at night. The pool is right outside the door and was always kept clean. There are only 10 units in this complex so sometimes we were the only ones in the pool. It is a good 10 to 15 minute walk into town. If you don't feel like walking all the time you can rent a golf cart to get around town or take a cab for $2. The area is safe and we were never worried about walking late a night. The condo did not have any screens on the doors or windows, which was a real draw back for us. There were days when there was a nice breeze out and we wish we could have opened the doors and get some cool air in the condo. Because there were no screens you have to use the air conditioner to keep it cool instead of getting the fresh air. Electricity is expensive so we didn't like to use the air conditioner all the time. You could leave the doors open but then take the chance of having bugs and iguanas in the condo (one of our neighbors had one get in her bathroom). The kitchen could use some new things. The paring knives, toaster, kettle and some utensils were in bad shape. Could also use a proper frying pan. There were no steaks knives so we went out and bought our own. The rice cooker didn't work properly. When we got there we had to clean the kitchen cupboard out because there was something in a container that had mold in it, and something else that smelled so bad we had to throw it out. There was also dirt behind the couch that caused ants (once we pulled the couch out and vacuumed it was better). I suspect that perhaps the cleaning lady didn't do the job she as supposed to. We found the bed really uncomfortable and way too soft but then everyone has a personal preference as to the type of bed they like. After speaking to both other renters and owners we realized that we had paid too much for what we were getting. Another couple in the same complex were paying $1300. a month, which was $1,000 more than we paid. Some of the owners of units in the Las Palmas complexes said that for what we were paying we should have everything high end, which we didn't. Playas del Coco is a beautiful place and we will be back, however will find some place else that is not as expensive and will make sure our next place has screens.
