This atmospheric home located on a high bank over a water channel off the western side of Vashon Island was an ideal retreat. The decor matched our aesthetic sensibilities exactly., sparse, soothing, and focused on the beautiful natural surrounding. Great kitchen, deck and master bedroom. Could use deck chairs and a microwave. That said, wE were alone with the birds and the deer but only a short drive to town. We loved our stay. Thank you.

This is an awesome location and view on Vashon. West side sunsets AMAZING! The property is beautiful, deer throughout our stay. Absolute private grounds. Can not beat the price and owner was super responsive. You wont want to leave. The downsides are kinda frivolous but really impacted our stay. No microwave and coffee maker left us wondering how we live without these conveniences. The French press was broke, but we survived! Bed in master is on the floor, so if your core strength is nil prepare for awkward moments of bed dismount. And for the love of God, get that hot tub functioning! Thanks for an unforgettable Vashon Island experience.

Everything I needed was there, including solitude, water view, sunsets, even the deer kept me company. The home was nicely equipped with everything to cook with, all lovely bedding and many books to read. I'll be back!

The property was great however it smelled like cooked fish and the TV was smaller than my computer monitor. I would have liked more pillows and for the bed to be off the ground. There were at least five large spiders I killed. We love bed the place over all. The remote location and entrance from the road were exactly what we wanted. I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely decor from the designer owner. Great location. Although if you are older or have a physical limitation this is not for you since it is Japanese motif and everything from bed to couches are very low to the ground.....beautiful but functional challenge. Main bath tub not working and advertised hot tub on deck dirty and not working. Still a peaceful, very clean and equipped place.

Lovely house on large property overlooking the water. Plenty of room to spread out. A couple of things to know. You have to take a ferry to get on and off the island. Not a problem, just need to plan for it. Also, no AC and no screens on the windows. Not a problem in cooler weather, but we were there during heat wave and needed windows open. We had a couple of wasps visit us inside! As long as you know in advance and are ok with it, you will love this property!

Wonderful house, Well equipped and beautifully designed inside. Nice Views and deer in the garden. We would always rent ist again. However, not five stars since the house needs some attention. Windows hard to open, no coffee maker (only a small french press for two cups and we stayed with 4 people) and some deck chairs would be great. Only minor remarks but make the difference. Confirmation mail with house details provided one day before our arrival date only.

Overall we had a great stay. The good Beautiful view!, deer outside every morning during breakfast, comfy beds, plenty of room and places to relax, nice lighting, nice towels, clean bathrooms, kitchen had everything we needed, fun extras like a record player and classical music, CD player in the kitchen, coffee!, wifi worked great. The not so good No microwave or BBQ like the listing states, the hot water to the bathtub was not working or disabled, the hot tub was empty, no screens on the windows. Could use an extra fan on a hot day. I feel like we are pretty easy going renters, any of these things I can do fine without really, but I was disappointed in how it was handled, or not, I guess? I called the manager about the hot tub not working the first day and she just said "no, it's not" and we sort of awkwardly hung up. Below is the message I wrote to her after our stay-I haven't received a response in over a week so I'll share it here instead. "We had a great time at the house this weekend, this was one of the best rental house kitchens I've ever used, the bedrooms and living areas were comfortable, the record player was a nice plus, and check-out instructions were easy so thank you for that! I have two pieces of feedback I want to share because we really enjoyed our stay and would love to see the rental do well so we have the opportunity to return or recommend to friends. The remodel on the house looks recent so I'm hoping this is already in the works, but the house really needs screens on the windows. With the warm weather, we had them open in the evening to cool things off and in addition to a number of bugs (no real big deal there) we ended up with a bat in the master bedroom Saturday night! We were able to shut the doors and turn off the lights in the room, and turn on the porch lights outside and eventually got it out, no harm done, but it was quite a lot of excitement for a late night! I also want to mention it caused quite a lot of disappointment, particularly with my son, that both the hot tub and bath tub pictured in the listing weren't useable as he was looking forward to it. I'm not sure if they were actually out of service or if its a matter of cost--I would have happily paid a fee if that were the case. Either way, this information would have been much appreciated ahead of time by email or at least a note upon arrival as it really put a damper on our initial arrival. Hopefully you find this helpful."

We absolutely loved this rental, and would recommend it without hesitation. This home is located on a large, 5 acre or so lot, overlooking the water. It is beautiful, peaceful, and absolutely idyllic. Everything we needed was provided, a grocery store is maybe 10 minutes away, and the fresh plums and berries on the property supplemented our diets quite nicely! Two bald eagles landed in the trees behind the deck one day, and deer greeted us almost every morning as they munched the grass. Not too bad for a Dallas-ite. I am typically critical of homes I rent, but I honestly cannot find any fault with this one. We had a wonderful time exploring the property and Vashon Island, and found the location to be perfect for us. A short ferry ride allowed us to spend a couple of days in Seattle while staying here. The ferries are wonderful, and the ride to the mainland is only around 10 minutes - just watch rush hour. I do wish the "stairs to nowhere" in the rear of the property went to the beach below, and that the trail down (which one needs to search to find) was less overgrown, but neither takes away from the magnificence of this property. The owner has done a great job with presentation and comfort, providing everything one might need to make for a very pleasant stay. Highly recommended!
