We gathered family from Texas, New Jersey and PA at this house. The description was very accurate, and we had a great time. My brother-in-law even asked about getting this house again when we do an east coast gathering again. Would highly recommend an escape to this hidden gem.

We wanted to ski in WV and found this listing. The home is ideally situated to ski Canaan or Timberline. The amenities in the house made it feel like home. Lake view from the hot tub was wonderful after a day on the mountain. We would definitely return.

The property was great and exactly as listed. It was spacious, clean, conveniently located, and very pretty! Less than 10 minutes to both ski resorts, on a beautiful pond/lake, and in a really nice/quiet neighborhood. We’ll definitely be back!

Super easy checkin and hosts responsive to all questions. Everything was perfect during our one week family vacation. We particularly appreciated the use of the owners boats and fishing equipment. Being right on the lake was wonderful! Very much enjoyed our stay.

We had such a wonderful experience at this house. I have been coming to Canaan Valley with my family for many years, but this was the first time I came with a group of friends to celebrate my 30th. The night my fiancé and I arrived, a snowstorm blew in and dumped 15 inches of snow overnight. It made for some hairy driving for our friends the next day, but they all arrived safely (we had initially planned for 14 people to stay and ended up with only 8 due to COVID, but the house would have easily slept 14 comfortably). The snow was absolutely beautiful and made for wonderful skiing conditions the next day. This house was a great location because it’s close to the main road (though still sheltered and private) and is on relatively flat ground, and though we didn’t partake, there were some epic sledding hills nearby! A note for folks without four wheel drive: there is a slight downhill when you turn into the neighborhood, which was a bit challenging when roads were covered in snow. Plows came through several times which was hugely helpful, and by the time we left Sunday morning we were blessed with warmer temps and rain so everyone could get out easily. The house itself was absolutely beautiful, and well-appointed with supplies, especially the kitchen. The hot tub with the snow falling was a dream come true! Colleen was very responsive and helpful, and the instructions provided were clear. The only problem we encountered was not being able to locate the remote for the living room TV—very minor, and we simply moved downstairs to the beautiful rec room to watch the game. I’d highly recommend this house to families or groups of friends, there is plenty of space and privacy but the house still manages to feel cozy. We were also toasty warm despite the negative temps outside! While we were there in the winter, I think this house would also be spectacular in the summertime and hope to be back someday. Amazing rental

Our family had an amazing time. The house was better than described, making our Thanksgiving family reunion perfect! Owners were very communicative and responsive. Definitely would recommend this property to anyone looking for amazing views, great owners, and a well stocked, clean house!

This home had it all, beautifully maintained and one of the best stocked homes we have stayed at! The surrounding area was beautiful and plenty of things to see and do. The owner was very gracious. Recommend this home to all😊

We had a lovely time at this beautiful house! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could think of and we comfortably had a full house of 5 families with plenty of spaces for adults and teens to hang out independently. We loved the deck, grill, fire pit, pool table, all of it. Location was super convenient to Black Water Falls and other area hikes as well as exploring quaint Davis and Thomas. We're already talking about coming back this winter to take advantage of proximity to skiing. Lovely house & hosts!

This lake front home is one of our favorites in Canaan Valley. It's spacious, comfortable and clean and provides easy access to all the valley has to offer. Really love that they provide paddle sports to their guests. Neighborhood is quiet and provides a nice walking path around the lake, as well as great sunrise/moonrise views. Owner is very responsive.

Awesome house and location. We had an amazing week and communicating with the owner went really well. House has everything needed. LOTS of room to spread out and relax. Comfortable beds and living room furniture was modern/up to date. Large, clean, and well stocked kitchen and large dining room area for everyone. Great to have linens and towels provided. Views from the deck were amazing. Loved the lake and used the boat for fishing and loved the paddle boards and kayaks. Caught lots and lots of 11” - 13” bass and some nice crappie too. Really enjoyed Blackwater, Douglas and Kennedy falls. Canaan Valley state park was great for playing tennis and the golf course was in great shape with beautiful views (deer walking everywhere). Overall a five star vacation

We were so happy with this place. Having stayed at many locations in this area, it was one of our favorites. The proximity to the pond and the water toys (boats/kayaks/paddleboards) is hard to beat. Add in the ease of getting into Davis or down to Canaan and it doesn't get much better.

Beautiful home that is clean, very well maintained and equipped. The location is very good and we enjoyed the private lake.

The home was lovely and just as described. The owner Colleen was very responsive too. It is the best stocked home we have ever rented- kitchen & household items are plentiful! The area was just gorgeous & setting of the house on a lake was so nice. We were lucky to have a dry & warm week in early spring. You don’t really need to leave the house, but if you do, the area has many lovely day trips you can take in any season. Blackwater Falls & Canaan Valley State parks are only 10-15 minutes from the home and have a lot of nice trails appropriate for any age (our youngest is 3 and had a great time). We got in several rounds of disc golf too at the Blackwater Falls course. For the more adventurous types Seneca Rocks & Dolly Sods are under an hour away too. There were not many shops & restaurants open due to the time of year & we suspect covid, but the local Shop & Save had everything we needed (including a decent beer & wine selection) and the home has a nice grill & kitchen for preparing meals & both outdoor & indoor eating spaces. Overall you can’t go wrong with taking a vacation to the Davis area and this home was absolutely wonderful! We hope to go back soon!

As a group of friends we rented the house for a long weekend to get out of town and have somewhat of a vacation during COVID. The house is fabulous and it was perfect for our group of 11. We will definitely rent it again next time we head to Davis.

The property is as advertised. Communication was great - quick responses. Plenty of room for several families. Fully stocked kitchen and extra kitchenette in the basement with 2nd refrigerator. Would definitely book again! Thank you!

This property was the best rental I’ve ever had! Stunning location, very spacious and comfortable, well stocked, fast and clear communication. We had a wonderful time celebrating my fiancé’s 40th birthday, playing pool, watching football (go Bills!), relaxing in the hot tub. Everyone loved the convenient location to skiing and snow tubing. We would definitely return! Thank you for everything!!

Pictures of the home were accurate. Amazing views of the sunrise in the morning. Communication with the owner was very good. The owner was very accommodating. We had a group of 11 people and there was still plenty of room. The pool table and shuffle board table were a nice touch. Would stay again.

Beautiful home with plenty of space for a family to spread out with 3 floors. My husband wanted to get close enough to fish at Smokehole, it was approx 45 minute drive to that area though a little further if driving over the mountain to the other side.My children ages 25-31 loved the house, we used the boats and kayak which were relaxing and caught a few different type of fish in the pond. Grill worked well, kitchen with many gadgets and even had a multitude of spices even though we brought our own as family loves to cook. Will definitely stay again! Oh and Yes Colleen was wonderful to work with!
