House is quite old with lots of stairs to get up to the bedrooms and lots of artwork. Neighborhood is nice, and has easy driving access to main tourist attractions. My friends and I rent a house each summer and this is the first one where the TV actually worked without problem! We were surprised at how expensive some sites were, like Grouse Mountain and Capilano Bridge. Granville Island has lots of shops but it’s best to take a cab there as parking is almost nonexistent.

We took a cruise from Vancouver to Alaska and decided to stay here for a few days on the front end of our trip. The manager met us at the house and was very welcoming. He even set up an extra bed for us. We had no issues while there. The house was in a safe neighborhood. It was well stocked with toilet paper and had laundry. We chose this house because it was centrally located to the bus stops connected to Skytrain. Miraculously, the busses and skytrain were large enough to accommodate our family and luggage! It was 2 adults and our 7 children ages 5-17. We did not rent a car and although there was a bit of walking, we figured out Vancouver’s public transit. We did end up taking an Uber back from Stanley park after a long day. We also took a taxi to the cruise terminal for ease of hauling luggage. The weather was very cooperative so we spent most of our time on the back deck. If it weren’t, we might have had trouble sitting together inside for meals. We had no problems cooking, but spices could use refills. It would be helpful to have a list of suggested restaurants nearby. We were surprised that there was a lower level of the house and upstairs level of the house (both with their own entrances) that were also rented out. We had no contact with the people, but thought it should be worth noting. I passed up other homes because of this-although it really was not a problem in this case. There was a park about a block away that the kids were able to play. Thank you Maria!

Had an enjoyable time in Vancouver. The house is convenient to great restaurants. We are cat people, so we enjoyed the friendly neighborhood kitty cats.

House is ideal for family or two couples - affordable compared to staying downtown. Neighborhood was delightful! 10-15 min walk to bus and train. Kitchen was well-equipped and bedding comfortable. Gerry checked us in and was very welcoming and easy to reach and Maria, the owner was also quick to reply to questions. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Great place, we unfortunately were there during a heat wave and being an old character house, there was no aircon. Lots of fans though!! Beds could be more comfortable but otherwise and comfortable house. The manager was fast, prompt and efficient.

The house has lots of living space, particularly liked the back deck and front porch. Spacious bedrooms, 3 bathrooms handy for the 5 adults and baby. Location great for easily accessing public transit, driving and walking.

I could tell from the photos this home was perfect for my family!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the opportunity to cook and enjoy family meals away from home. The home itself is very cozy with its eclectic and family atmosphere. Whether it was having coffee in the sun on the back deck or enjoying a late beverage on the front porch, this home was the perfection place for us - as we traveled to Vancouver for our daughter's wedding! We arrived late afternoon and check-in was effortless. Whatever we needed, this home provided us. Very spacious for our family; ideal temperature for the summer weather; convenient laundry facilities; comfortable beds; and the list could go on!! The location was central and only a 15 minute uber ride to downtown. Grocery and other amenities within 5 minute uber drive. This is our first vrbo home and the experience exceeded our expectations! When we return to Vancouver, it would be an honour to stay at this home again! Thank you to the Sammarco family for their home away from home!

I've not experienced any any other vacation short-term rental quite like this. A beautiful home with great patio spaces, we felt incredibly comfortable for the week we were there. I loved the way the house is deliberately decorated to reflect the owners; it felt like we were staying in their home and not just the latest in a line of renters. The building is old and creaky, but that didn't bother our group much. The manager was a pleasure to work with. He was very available to us and answered all our questions. Best manager experience I've ever had! We loved being so close to transit and the bike share. I'm glad we ordered grocery delivery on our first night because it is a bit of a walk to the Safeway. This is on a beautiful street, and this house is one of the nicer ones on it. The owners clearly take care of the yard and it made it even nicer to enjoy a glass of wine on the patio. We were there during an unseasonable heatwave. Although the house doesn't have AC, the fans in all the bedrooms did a great job of making the rooms comfortable. Although there are renters in the attic and basement suites, we didn't hear them at all. Excellent soundproofing and courteous neighbours. All in all, we'd be happy to recommend this suite to others.

We were a group of six adults in town for a concert. We loved our Mount Pleasant stay. Communication and check-in were wonderful. Pictures and description were very accurate. Very comfortable beds. We loved the artwork adorning the home. Thank you Maria for a wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay here. We were here for a family wedding and my fathers 89 th birthday. It was nice to be able to enjoy this weekend with family. Well provisioned ... set up well ... clean ... good room sizes ... neighborhood cat a bit of a pain ... location perfect for an easy drive to downtown, Granville or Burnaby. Nice chatting with owners.

Property was well equipped and property manager and owner were gracious and went above and beyond the call of duty. The house is old and the floors are a bit creaky so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

This house is an older victorian home with plenty of room, the quirkiness of an older home and lots of art and decorations on the wall/floors - everywhere we looked! We hosted a rehearsal dinner on the evening before the wedding with about 20 people all together in attendance - plenty of room. Inside, the living and dining rooms are side by side, basically one large room. The space we rented was the main floor (entry way, living, dining, 4-piece batch, kitchen) and the second floor (three big bedrooms - one with a king, one with a queen, and one with a queen and a twin - along with 2 bathrooms side by side). The laundry machines are in one of the 2 bathrooms (powder room). The beds were fine enough, although I think my wife felt they could be a bit better for her liking. Overall, the house worked very well for us. The couches in the living room aren't very comfortable, so don't plan on sitting there too long - they have hideabeds inside them if you need even more sleeping accommodations. Outside, the back has a nice sized deck we could use, but no backyard. Out front there is a nice yard (a lot more growth to those plants than you see in the pictures) and a wide porch with a couple of comfortable Muskoka chairs (Adirondack chairs for any Americans). The attic is rented to a permanent tenant, and so is the basement, so those areas are out of bounds. Rarely saw the tenants and certainly never heard them (they probably heard us!). Gerry the manager was great and easily reachable, and the owners happened to be living in a small house above the garage in the back at the time and it was wonderful to briefly meet them as well. The location was close to the wedding venue (VanDusen gardens) and also close to Granville Island and Vancouver's beautiful downtown. Parking is only available on the street. There are signs that parking is for residents only, but that's a good thing - the residents know this house is being used by VRBO guests, and they keep an eye out for that. When we had a few guests over, the parking was a bit sparse, so you may have to go a block or two to find some. Almost everytime we needed to park we found a spot on the same block, which was pretty good since we had a full size pickup. The house worked very well for us, and we were fascinated by the different things we saw on the wall everytime we looked. Thanks Maria and Riccardo, and thank-you Gerry!

The house is the most fascinating, warm, welcoming place I have ever stayed. It is crammed with wonderful objects d'art, paintings and photos. A lovely supply of essentials to welcome guests with a helpful manager, too.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely character home, close to the Drive and Main Street. Interesting and delightful art works everywhere, giving it a very personal feel. Bathrooms, kitchen, and furnishings could use updates but that all contributes to the character. A nice quiet city neighborhood.

We had 4 great nights staying at Maria’s house before our cruise. The house had 3 very large bedrooms and easily accommodated 6 adults. Could easily have had additional guests very comfortably. We took the bus to downtown a few times. Bus stop was just a short walk away. We walked to the mall to pick up groceries and beer and took a taxi back. The neighbourhood is very residential and not very touristy- exactly what we wanted. We had very quick and easy communication with both Gerry (property manager) and Maria (home owner) leading up to the trip and during the trip. We spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the bbq and back patio. Would definitely stay at Maria’s again if we were back in Vancouver

We started our first BC visit at Maria's place in Vancouver. We really loved staying there and can highly recommend it. It is close to downtown and the neighborhood is good. The kitchen is very well equipped and the little terrace behind the house is perfect for breakfast. If we ever get the chance to come back to Vancouver we would love to stay again. We enjoyed our stay at Maria's victorian home. Unfortunately the weather was not the best so we did not take advantage of the 2 decks other than to BBQ. We were 4 woman. Lovely location for evening walls. Close enough to downtown by train or uber. Maria was very helpful prior to our arrival Gerry was there to greet us and show us around when we arrived and quick to answer any questions etc.

Very pleasant pre cruise stay for 6

We had a group of 4 older adults in Vancouver for a week of sightseeing and to attend a college graduation. The property was perfect. Between two patios, a formal dining room and kitchen seating it easily accommodated our group. The kitchen was well equipped and enabled us to make most meals at the VRBO. The home itself is beautiful and very large and welcoming. Highly recommend it.

We just spent our 4th Vancouver vacation at Maria's home, and once again we had a fabulous time. The home is welcoming and comfortable, with everything we could possibly need. The beds are comfortable, and the 2 & a half bathrooms makes it perfect for groups or families. The wifi is great - especially being able to access it on both front and back porches. The surrounding neighbourhood is quiet and yet central to wherever you want to go. Both Maria, and Gerry (property manager) are friendly, helpful, and very approachable. Will definitely be making plans to return for a 5th visit, if the house is available. Thank you Maria.

3 old ladies and 1 adult happened on this unique property. The house was inviting and had two delightful outside areas to help handle the warmth of the afternoons. It truly was fully furnished and was a feast for the eyes. We hope yo come back and visit again.
