Not the owners fault but our big college reunion group didn't catch that there was no AC in the house. We happened to be there during a heat wave so I'm sure it's fine when it's in the 90s but since we were in 106+ weather the whole time the house was pretty hot. Again- our mistake for not catching the lack of AC and it's only a problem if you're unlucky and are staying here during a heat wave. Other than that, the house was nothing fancy but met our needs. The house and game room needs maintenance and repairs and it could have been cleaner but we know we didn't pay top dollar so as long as you go in knowing that it's not going to be impeccable then you'll enjoy your stay!

The owner Thomas was so easy to work with and returned messages immediately! The photos of the property should be updated as there are a few things that are not as you would expect. The property is older but was perfect for what we were looking for, peace & quiet. Even without A/C, having a whole house fan, it kept the house cool enough to get out of the heat. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the great communication.

This was a comfortable and roomy home in a quiet neighborhood close to some really cute, historic towns. Thomas was very easy to contact and responded promptly to questions. When we arrived, there was a curbside trash can that was literally overflowing with garbage. After communicating this to the owner, it was acknowledged that the previous guests had not followed the check-out process, which resulted in a missed garbage pickup. While I recognize that this was not the owner's fault, it negatively impacted first impressions. Also, the home was not quite as pictured. It is an older home needing some maintenance and a good deep clean. There was a considerable amount of dust on all of the surfaces, and food had been left in the oven by a previous visitor. There was laundry left on the floor in the laundry room and in the dryer. The check-out process described that the cleaning fee was not to clean the entire house; however, the cleaning list for visitors to complete upon vacating the property would certainly not encompass the periodic thorough clean that any property requires. However, as mentioned, the home was comfortably furnished and provided ample room for all in our party. While not exceptionally clean, it was not egregiously dirty. We had a wonderful time, and I would not hesitate to revisit this property in the future.

I am so surprised that none of the other reviews mention this... the house is unacceptably dirty. The floors are absolutely disgusting and we found coins in our bed which made us question if the bedding had been changed. We loved the area and privacy. We felt the pictures are not accurate, especially the deck and pond area. Also the game room was awesome except that it really needs some new items as a lot were broken (ex: shuffleboard pucks). Overall the house really needs some TLC. The oven did not work which was mentioned in a review a bit before ours so should have been fixed before we arrived. We had some arrival problems and it was hard to communicate with the owner but that could have been my phone and service. One of the bedrooms on the 3rd level is really a loft which is good to know for planning. Lots of space in the home with the bedrooms, 2 living rooms, game room, and decks so that part was great! Be sure to bring extra towels, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, etc as not much are left. Overall we still had a great time but the filth really put a damper on things.

Great location, quiet, beautiful and peaceful. We had a family gathering here and the cabin accommodated our group of 10 adults and 4 small kids very well. The location is not far from Jackson, Volcano and Silver Lake. All are reachable by car within 30 minutes. The game room was a real plus and was well used most evenings. If we decide to have a future family get together here, we'll definitely consider this cabin for a second visit.

We really enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful with gorgeous views. We had a lot of fun in the game room and sat out on the wrap around patio quite a bit. Had all of the utensils/dishes/pots and pans we needed. We did need a little more towels than were left and had no dish soap so I'd recommend bringing these things. There was a broken lamp when we got there with the broken pieces of glass left in a bowl on the table. The oven also stopped working the night before leaving. Maybe a pilot light or something?? We were a little disappointed since we wanted to make Cinnamon rolls. Other than those small things we loved the place and did have good communication from the owner. Would definitely return and recommend this place to others.

This was exactly what we needed: space for two adults and eight teenagers. The furnishings are not new, but who cares? We're in the mountains and the scenery is wonderful. The kitchen is easily accessible and large enough for a big group to work simultaneously. The recreation room was a nice bonus. Given the price per night, it is hard to beat this location...if I'm in this area in the future I will definitely stay again.

Perfect set up for our family of 6 adults and 4 kids. Plenty of space and the game room was enjoyed by all!

The 5 of us truly enjoyed our visit. We had a few minor problems that were addressed by the owner right away. These minor problems were not the owners fault and he and his wife were very helpful and fast to act upon them. It's a nice quiet place and so close to other attractions. Would for sure return again. Beautiful area to visit.

My family had fun with our stay. Gated and fenced property made us feel safe. The game room is a hit with both kids and adults.

We really enjoyed our stay! Building a fire in the fire-pit and watching the shooting stars was amazing. Adults and kids had a great time in the game room. Pool and Foosball gave us valuable time away from technology! Wonderful property.

Overall our stay was very relaxing. We left the property one day to go to Silver Lake and play on the beach. The boys had fun in the water. The lake is beautiful, I recommend a visit if you have time. The layout of the house is pretty good with 3 ways to get into the house. Our one wish was that it was cleaner than it is. Floors need to be scrubbed and cobwebs need to be taken down. The pond on the property needs some attention as well. We did have a great time there and did exactly what we were hoping to do which was enjoy the outdoors and relax. The game room is a plus, the two boys enjoyed going in there. We will definitely try to go back next summer. Fun was had by all

My family enjoyed our stay in this house. It is very private, surrounded by beautiful trees, with a game room the kids really enjoyed and a lovely stream down the hill. We drove half an hour to some hikes during the day.

Very minor and totally fixable issues! We loved the park near by. Loved the area. Enjoyed seeing the deer nightly. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms clean. I would stay again for sure even with minor issues!

The house was very comfortable and met all of our needs. Very spacious with a lot of amenities. We would definitely go and stay again sometime.

We had a good time at the cabin. It was a bit further out of the way than I though, but had a fun game room and close to a small market. It was better going into Jackson to shop for food, but the local market had most everything we needed and the staff were great.

Great property for family time! We enjoyed all the different floors and the snow right outside our cabin! Everyone had a great time! Property owner was great at communicating and was available if any help was needed... very spacious great cabin overall!

Beautiful home and comfortable to stay in

This was the 3rd time we booked this property and we enjoyed the location and the property but unfortunately this time the living room felt not cleaned, the carpet smelled like dirty socks and there was a very bad odor kind of like excrement coming from the sectional sofa in the corner by the deck door. We couldn't enjoy to the fullest for this two reasons.

My group has stayed here quite a few times, and it is perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway. Every time we need something, Thomas the owner has been quick to respond to requests. Highly recommended!

The house was a perfect for our extended family! Each family unit had their own floor and bathroom. The 5 children loved having the freedom to enjoy the outdoors with little restrictions other than staying on the property. We all enjoyed the game room, eating on the deck and the quiet setting in the forest. We had delicious meat cooked in the smoker and yummy s’mores with marshmallows roasted over the fire pit on the patio. The fresh spring tap water was amazing. Thanks!!

Our extended family enjoyed a lovely week at the cabin. It was spacious and ideally located for us, with different groups coming from across the North, South, and East Bay Area. We especially enjoyed the separate game room and large deck areas. Communication with Thomas was prompt and thorough - no problems at all during our stay. Would definitely return for our annual family summer trip and recommend to others.

We had a great time at this cabin. Very spacious and comfortable. Lots of room for the kiddos to run and play outside. The game room is a great place to hang out. There is a “no shoes” rule inside and it would be nice to have a shoe rack on the porch to cut down on “front door clutter” for larger families. There is a little pond with a small adjoining creek. It is not an ideal environment for small kids but the sound of the water flowing was relaxing. You can hear it best in the morning and evening. The surrounding area is very quiet and peaceful. Nice view of the night sky for star gazing. Groceries and gas are a short drive should you forget or need anything. We look forward to another stay at this cabin.

Though there were a couple issues with the cabin and swimming pond, Thomas was great and we really had a great time!

A lovely large property with lots to do in the area. The location was convenient to kirkwood for skiing, to the snow park, silver lake. There was plenty of space for the kids to play.

We loved our stay there was plenty of room for the 11 of us all beds and couches where very comfortable.

My stay at this property was fantastic. There were lots of things to do at the property as well as the surrounding area. It was a 20 minute drive to Jackson Rancheria casino resort and downtown Jackson. There was high-speed Internet, cable TV, game room, three levels each with their own restroom and living room. There was also a pond and hiking in the backyard. This was very private and secluded. We found lots of things to do in the area like go to the snow and the black chasm. There were plenty of good restaurants along the way. Will definitely stay here again.
