On arrival, the first thing we noticed was that the entire apartment was consumed by an overwhelming musty/moldy smell. It seemed that this was coming from the basement/bathroom area. The backyard of unit also had the very same odor. We wondered if it is due to dampness. We hoped by airing the unit out, this would help, but didn’t feel safe leaving windows open when we weren’t there, or while sleeping. We stayed Friday evening and Saturday. Airing when we could, did not help. The smell was horrible, the entire time we were there. It really negatively impacted our time and actually triggered an allergic reaction for me that I am still dealing with, days later. The unit itself is in an excellent location to downtown, and has lots of potential; yet isn’t as it could be. On one hand, the kitchen has a gleaming new marble floor and all updated appliances, but the furnishings like the couch, bed, bedding, and towels– are old, and worn. The floors were sticky and the area rugs are very dirty. It was noisy at night and difficult to sleep due to people passing by on the street, the bedroom right at the sidewalk, as well as we could hear the people upstairs walking about and up and down there stairs, into the early morning hours. The property owner in all communications prior to this, was prompt, helpful, and very friendly. Unfortunately when I contacted him after our stay with my concern about the air quality in the unit, he didn’t respond.

We totally enjoyed our stay here. Loved our morning coffee on the deck. Very clean and had everything that was stated in the website ❤️😊

The location was excellent. The suite was as described but we found the bed terribly uncomfortable. A new mattress and box spring would likely remedy this issue.

It was great , we didn’t have the code to get in sent to us the link wouldn’t work so I contacted the owners and didn’t get a response right away but I contacted vrbo and they were fantastic , we were in by no time , then the owner contacted us . It was great

We enjoyed this stay very much. Location is ideal . Note that the bathroom is downstairs and low head room. I was fine. However my husband had a more difficult time at 6’8”. Also no air and it was very hot in St. John’s during our stay. But overall this was an excellent place to stay.

This is in the heart of St. John’s. Steps from the divine Terre Restaurant in the Alt hotel. Easy walk to George St. Pubs and live music. Excellent Korean Subs from 3 Sisters also walking distance. As this was 6 days into our trip, I greatly appreciated the convenient main floor laundry. I worried about street noise keeping me awake but it was very quiet between 10pm and 7 am. Delightful, historic property. Weather did not permit enjoyment of backyard, which would have been nice.

Everything went great - hosts were very friendly and let me stay two extra days when a travel problem happened. Easy walk to restaurants, across the street from a cute local bakery - I'll definitely stay there again. ONE THING -if you're over six feet tall, the bathroom ceiling will be a bit tight :) (but ceilings are normal height in the rest of the place). Definitely worth the slight inconvenience, though!

We spent a month in this property, which was clean and cute. In a great location, with easy access to all the downtown activities and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to enjoy downtown St. John's in comfort.

We loved how central it is, easy walk downtown. Even Signal Hill is walkable though that's uphill. Beware of low ceilings downstairs, especially bathroom if you're tall.

Good spot, nice to have washer and dryer. Also full bathtub was a nice touch.

Nice apartment a short walk to restaurants and harbour. Great communication with owner who attended to issues as they arose. The only slight drawback is the bathroom is located downstairs but otherwise a nice comfy apartment.

We really liked our accommodation. We gave a sigh of relief the moment we walked in. The presence of some of the interior's original charm was endearing. There were hardwood floors and two fireplaces (probably non-functional at this point, I'm assuming). Nice molding and two large pocket doors with antique hardware were very nice. The kitchen was modern: halogen stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer. The downstairs bathroom with bathtub and shower was nice. The location was excellent. It was in easy walking distance of the town's attractions and nightlife, yet far enough away not to contend with late night revelers. Our last night, we relaxed and watched some television for the only time during our week long stay in Newfoundland. My wife thought the bed to be a bit hard. It didn't bother me at all. I slept well.

Spacious ground floor and basement apartment for two adults with all amenities provided. Clean throughout and the downstairs bathroom with a bath as well as a shower unit was a great bonus. Centrally placed so you can walk to most of the must sees in St John’s and restaurants/pubs. We even got to enjoy the walk uphill! Hosts Nick and Katie always available but unobtrusive during our stay.

Loved all the space. Backyard space could use a bit of tending but sitting outside was a treat. Kitchen was well equipped. Location was downtown. Easy to walk to restaurants. Easy to get onto major roads. Internet was reliable. Hosts were quick to respond to inquiries.

Pros: A good location. A nice apartment at first glance. There is a washing machine. Well equipped kitchen. Cons: The bathroom is in the basement. Musky smell in the basement. The bedroom is on the ground level, BR's window towards the street (not everybody likes that). A nice dining table, but only one can sit by it, as there is a hight gap with the other side of the table.

10 minute walk downhill to George Street and all the entertainment. Very comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer to use. Very quiet neighbourhood with parking on the street. Having a fan above the bed for those hot muggy nights would be nice. We enjoyed our four day stay here and would definitely come back again.

This was a great place to stay the location was perfect for a downtown conference in St. Johns. Very easy to walk to all the restaurants etc. so no need to rent a car. The kitchen was great although we didn't end up cooking very much. The only input I might have is that if you are older and can't do stairs the bathroom is in the lower level. Would definitely stay again.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well-equipped, the bed was good, the location is close to downtown St. John's, and the furniture and layout are comfortable and accommodating. Yes, the bathroom is down a flight of stairs but that was a minor inconvenience, especially given the other amenities, such as a washer and dryer.

Apartment was well situated in the best part of town. We could walk to most events and restaurants. We could hear upstairs tenants walking around above us when trying to sleep. The bathroom is in the basement with almost Funhouse stairs (irregular and sloped).

I had a lovely warm welcome from Katie and her young family. The apartment is very large, well furnished and warm. The kitchen has everything you need and the huge washing machine very useful if you are travelling. The location is very central and within walking distance of the waterfront and the fantastic Rooms and Eco Museum. I loved my stay here.

This is a lovely, well-equipped apartment on a beautiful street. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go, and the owners were great. We really enjoyed our stay.

My wife and I spent a week in St. John's chasing icebergs and eating seafood. This apartment was perfect for us. It had a well outfitted kitchen with a functional espresso machine, excellent wifi, a comfortable bed and nice shower downstairs. The owner handed us a street side parking permit when we arrived as well. We couldn't ask for more.

The property is all that the pictures show and more. The attention to detail in the furnishing was very much appreciated by us as. The location is excellent for accessing downtown and other points of interest in the area. Walking around the neighbourhood was very safe.If we were to revisit St.John's, or if family/friends were to visit,we would definitely rent, or recommend to rent, this property again and enjoy all that it has to offer.
