The property was as pictured on the website , the apartment was beautiful and clean . My only issue is the pool was always dirty. Overall it was a great place to stay I will be going back . The owners were very truthful in their description of the apartment. It is well taken care of and clean . The view was breathtaking. Oh and might I say to just sit on the balcony at nights and feel the fresh air is priceless. Love this place !!!!! Thanks Vernon

The Pearl is accurately described and reflected well in the pictures. It is kept very clean. The was the first property my husband and I used as part of HomeAway. We have been there twice in the last six months. While the property has a great view, you will hear traffic noise since it is located above one the main thoroughfares. The overall property is very hilly, which will provide a great cardio workout.

First let me clarify the owners response concerning the bedroom AC in the master bedroom. It was not replaced until we stayed there. It packed in on our first night. We then had to wait around the condo for four days while a new one was installed. Although the unit was being installed by a relative of the owner he told us not to trust him and to have someone in the condo at times the workmen were there. We waited two days before anyone turned up and a further two days until the installation was complete. Four days of our vacation wasted. The AC in the second bedroom never did work and the one in the living room was disconnected. After having it reconnected and seeing the amount of electricity it used I can see why. Beware, if you are a long stay guest you have to pay for the electricity which in Jamaica is horrendously expensive. As for the updated kitchen it is true there is granite counter top installed but the cupboards are in a very poor state. The apartment was absolutely filthy when we arrived and as the owner has already stated his regular housekeeper was on vacation, not for the two weeks we were told but for three months. I'm sorry to say that Michelle was not much of an improvement. She helped herself to any food she fancied without asking. When we brought this to the owners attention he just said that was the local culture. We could not use the closet in the master bedroom because it smelled of mold. When the AC was being installed the dressing table had to be moved, the dirt behind it was terrible there was even an empty insulin pen. Under the couch which has been stated as being very uncomfortable was some sort of stain plus mountains of dust which we were accused of making. The office staff as has been stated are no use at all. Everything seems too much trouble. It was stated that a local cell phone would be provided which it was but it was not activated and could not be used. I could go on but I think anyone reading this will get the point. I would have given it one star but the view gets an extra star. Everything stated in the previous negative review is true.

This is indeed a wonderfully laid out penthouse with an amazing view! Ocho Rios is a fabulous location in Jamaica. My husband, sons and I enjoyed an entire week and still had lots left on our 'want to do' list. The condo was sparkling clean when we arrived and stayed that way thanks to Michelle. It was great to have Michelle's advice about places; she even accompanied us to the local market for fresh local fruits and vegetables at the local, rather than tourist, prices. The Jamaican meals she prepared for us were so tasty too. The owners are great to work with and very responsive to questions, requests and needs. We look forward to recommending this condo to friends and family.

The condo property landscaping was well attended to, but the buildings, were in poor shape, many of the buildings had black mould on the exterior and needed a good cleaning. Our pool in phase 1 lacked the necessary attention and the pool chairs were in disrepair. The condo was marketed as newly renovated, with a well equipped kitchen. The kitchen could only be considered well equipped if eating out was your thing; it was a good thing that we never had dinner guests. The balcony was very spacious and the seating was ample, one of the chairs was broken, and it is difficult to understand why I discovered it needed repair. The chair was taken and returned fixed. The side table of the double rocker was lacking a nut to secure the board from tipping, I provided the screw to the office and in the four weeks it was never repaired. A safe in the closet did not work, it was discovered that this was a problem from a previous review. I complained of ants in the condo and that was never resolved. The living room furnishings were not very comfortable and the bedroom furniture was dated. The second bedroom had no dresser for clothes, we had to use end tables which were not adequate. The "Pearl Experience" was of no help, every question was answered with an I don't know shrug, it seemed the office had many "Chiefs" and there were only a few "Indians". I would have given a two and a half rating but the review allowed only whole stars.

The property was all that was described online. The owner was great to speak with before getting to the location. This is a lovely getaway in the Ocho Rios area. It offers quiet surroundings on the property and if you need to get to a restaurant or shopping it is within walking distance. The place was clean and kept cleaned everyday. The number 1 asset is the view. The word gorgeous sums it up. It overlooks the bay of Ocho Rios. I would definitely recommend to anyone who asks. Had a great time there.

This is a beautiful place to stay. Me and my husband enjoyed our vacation and Michelle is wonderful. She is a great cook and made sure our place kept clean and tidy. We surely miss the place and the beautiful view from the balcony..

Upon entering the complex , the security was friendly , check in was smooth . Pros : great location , clean , spectacular views , housekeeper Cooks very well and was accommodating, staff were all friendly , spacious, like keyless entry , Cons: 2nd bathroom had lots of ants , no A/C in living room area ( cooled down in the evening with breeze) , safe not reliable even when it says it's open after code is entered, hand paper towels should be provided , not wheel chair accessible for those needing it Overall , we liked our unit and would stay at Columbus heights again .

My Cousin Jason and I rented this facility just for a weekend getaway April 15-18, 2015 and indeed it was one of the better trips to our native land Jamaica West Indies. No stress!! This place lived up to every comment that was posted online by other guest who stayed here. The balcony scene took our breath away. We were able to see the ship come in and depart. You felt safe and no pressure or a care in the world. To top it all off, Michelle the housekeeper was the sweetest. She keeps the facility welcoming and immaculate. She is truly a representation of great customer service. I would hire her in a second. Her display of honesty and respect was noteworthy. We appreciated the fact that on the second day, the owner of the Penthouse called to see if we were settled and all is well. The communication since we confirmed our stay was a no brainer. All went smooth. Our only little issue was the Wi Fi which kept going in and out. We are definitely planning on going back in the near future. Already we have told our friends.

I stayed in Columbus Heights with my son and his friend for a week. The condo is just as advertised. The view is incredible--the best in the complex. Michelle was fantastic, making delicious meals that we thoroughly enjoyed. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were great. Michelle came every day to tidy up and give us clean towels. It couldn't have been any better. The location is perfect for easy trips to all of the adventurous trips we took to HEvans Scent (for ziplining), the Blue Hole for cliff diving and waterfalls (don't miss it), Dunn's River Falls, and the ATV tour up the mountain which provided amazing views from the top. The US phone was great so we could keep in touch with home without any added cost. We lounged by the pool and enjoyed beautiful evenings on the balcony. It was a short walk to the beach and shopping. I loved walking down main street - past all of the tourist traps - to the local produce and craft market. Mr. Jackson drove us down to one of the local restaurants - Mom's. We had jerk chicken and curried chicken--it was less than $20 for the three of us. Check it out when you visit.

After staying here with my Nephew and Niece back in April, I returned for a second dose. My 78 year old Mom came with me this time and her only comment over and over again was how clean, nice, and great the Pearl is. She loved the view, absolutely loved Michelle (our housekeeper), the security guys were always helping her to go up the stairs and they became her new sons. Again, even though I experienced here once before, this visit also exceeded my expectations. The Pearl will be my Villa of choice when in Ocho Rios and I am there a lot.. When I first walk thro the doors of the Penthouse I fell inlove, and when I open the curtains of the slide doors to the balcony I knew I had to come back. The view was breath taking both day and night, overlooking the beaches and the lush vegetations around the area. The penthouse was warm and homely and just a few mins walk away from the town with jamaica rich culture. The owner Sherril was a gem she was just one txt or phone call away when I needed any assistance, she was very welcoming. I am looking forward to my next vacation

The condo is very clean and spacious. The view is breathtaking and the meals Michelle prepared were much more delicious than some found in the local area. Very quiet surroundings, but close enough to town to enjoy dinner and movie or go out for drinks or karaoke night. The Hills are a bit steep, but it offers great exercise opportunities for your stay. Thanks for a great week, I will be returning in the near future!
