Loved it!

Great location, close to everything. Nice for families to be able to cook and relax without eating out all the time.

Our family absolutely loved this home. It was the perfect size for my wife and I, our two daughters (4 and 1), and two sets of grandparents (8 people in total). We loved the backyard and the views are amazing! The location is great as you are away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and Waikiki, and only a short drive if you wanted to enjoy all of that. Right around the corner is a Costco, grocery store, and Longs Drugs for stocking up on anything you may need. We enjoyed many meals at the home. Communication with Darren was great and he was always quick to answer any questions we may have had. We would highly recommend this spot and hope to visit again someday!

Excellent location and accommodations.

We enjoyed our time here at Darren’s place. The place was nice and clean. We didn’t have an issues while during our stay. The neighborhood was nice and quite. Darren was available if we needed anything. The location was perfect. Your less than 10 minutes from everything to beaches , shopping(malls), and restaurants. I can’t leave out the view. The view of the sunrise from backyard was amazing. We didn’t have any small children but this would also be a great place if you have children. The back yard is huge! We definitely appreciated our time here and we are looking to return next year sometime.

We had a great time while staying here. The back yard is perfect for a large family. The location was great...away from the busy downtown but close enough to quickly reach places we wanted to explore. The dryer was slow when trying to dry items especially towels.

This was a great house for our family vacation, and eight of us stayed here comfortably. My wife and I slept great on the spring beds with memory foam toppers, while our older parents were split. There were two bathrooms, one of which was in the master bedroom, so we ended up almost always sharing one bathroom between six of us, however there was an extra bathroom sink in the hallway which helped out a lot. The bathroom did not have a vent, and had a little mold in the shower, but otherwise it was very clean, and we realize it's hard to keep mold from growing in a high humidity place. There was air conditioning units in the bedrooms, although we didn't have to turn them on. Unfortunately, the dryer did not work. We ran and re-ran the dryer multiple times, trying to get towels dry because the instructions said that all towels must be clean when we check out. We were unable to get them dry but it ended up not being an issue. The location was great! Quiet, safe neighborhood near Hanauma Bay, which had amazing snorkeling. Close to lots of grocery stores and good hikes, and a short drive to Honolulu. Having a Keurig was also a nice touch. You will not be disappointed picking this house.

The house was beautiful and the location was wonderful. I can only imagine how expensive it would be to do upgrades with how high the costs are in Hawaii, but I think replacing the washer & dryer would go a long way. Part of the house rules are that all towels be washed and put back in the closet. The washer comes with warnings that it is "sensitive so keep the loads small", but the dryer took 4 hours to dry 2 small loads of towels. On our last day/night I would have had other priorities.

Nice, older home, but clean and everything we needed was there!

The house was aim a perfect spot for our group, wanting to be outside of Waikiki but close enough to be able to head over for dinner. The property is definitely dated but overall had everything we needed for our stay!

Nice place for a big group. House is a little bit dated but well kept. The pool and backyard is beautiful!

Our family Oahu vacation was made complete by being able to enjoy relaxing the evenings by our private pool with a view of mountains and the channel. The location was perfect... close to shopping and not too far from Waikiki. We had all of the luxuries of being at home, while being on vacation. The home was stocked with everything we needed from sunscreen to seasonings. Mahalo for helping our vacation to be memorable for years to come.

We all enjoyed our stay. Lovely home and great pool. We would stay there again.

My family and I were only here for a few days but we enjoyed our stay in Hawaii Kai! The property was nice, clean and well kept. There was 10 of us and we were easily accommodated by the space. Definitely enjoyed the daytime in the pool and the outdoor seating in the late afternoon. It was also very accessible to groceries, restaurants, shopping and airport. To top it off, the property owner and representative were very kind and communicated well with me! Really enjoyed our time here!!

This was more than we expected. The house was just so breathtaking and we had no issues checking in and out. I wish I knew how great it was, I wouldn’t have packed as much! Me and my family had an amazing time and hope to stay here again!

Our stay at Hawaii Kai was better than words can describe!!!Our hearts are full and tears in our eyes as we leave this magical place!!!The back yard is the perfect resting place at the end of the day!!!Thank you soo much for everything!!!

We came to Oahu for our daughters wedding. The house was perfect! We had 8 adults and 1 baby staying there. There was plenty of room for everyone, the outside space was wonderful for having a meal, having coffee in the morning and our older kids loved the pool. Even though the house is right on Hawaii Kai, the house and back yard were quiet. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone. Great rental!!

We loved the home and the pool! Nice quiet location but easy to get where we wanted to go! My family was very happy with their accommodations!

We stayed here with 3 other couples. The pool and yard are spectacular overlooking the mountains and the canal. The location is very close to Hanama Bay and the lighthouse hike. It is a safe quiet neighborhood which is very friendly and welcoming. The home is clean and well cared for with beautiful art. The outdoor area is fantastic!

We had a great time in Hawaii Kai. Wonderful backyard with private pool. Great place to have a morning coffee and watch the sun rise. The main street , Hawaii kai dr is a pretty busy street so road noise can be an issue for the front three bedrooms , but the provided fans did offer white noise to.go to sleep. Location is close to everything . Having Costco and Safeway 5 min away was great. Honolulu was an easy 20 min drive on the freeway. Plenty of restaurant options nearby. Had the best hawaiin pizza ever at Kona Brewing company! The house was nice. Cabinets, furniture and paint could use a bit of a refresh but was otherwise fine. Beds were soft with mattress toppers on all beds. TV options were limited , but we weren't really there to watch TV for hours. ( at night a few more options would have been nice) Overall it was a very good experience and glad we rented the home. Darren was very quick to respond to questions and helpful. Damage deposit was returned quickly.

This a great property in an ideal location. Very short drive to Hanauma Bay. Outside of the hustle of Honolulu but not so far that a trip to the city is inconvenient. Right around the corner from Costco (BIG money saver if you want to eat in). House has all of the expected comforts. Outside area (pool, tables, etc.) was everyone's favorite. We ended up spending a lot of time chilling on the patio with lovely views of the canal and ridges beyond. Host was attentive and helpful. Only suggestion would be to upgrade the seating in the living area - 3 leather couches would make it perfect. We had a party of 10 that slept without issue, but not enough seating for everyone in the living room. Would definitely stay again.

Hawaiian Ohana home, set on the Hawaii Kai Canal, lovely plantings and generous yard, lanai. Picnic tables with bright red umbrellas, and a cozy seating of chairs plus lounges. The interior is just as wonderful. Just the right size for our family, 5 adults and 4 kids ages 11-7. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower-with night time lighting! A Hawaii joy-outdoor showering! We were so close to favorite hikes-up Koko Head, and out to Makapu'u. Snorkeling at Kahala Beach & hiking Diamond Head & Koho Botonical Gardens. Riding the waves at Waimanalo and Bellows. Amazing location, splendid accommodations with brilliant appointments. This is our second time stay-and we will be back!

We stayed in this home in December with 10 people (grandparents, kids and their families). The house is in a really great location, close to Hanuama Bay and lots of shops and restaurants. We had plenty of space and appreciated the use of the washer/dryer, outdoor shower and outdoor gathering spaces. It met all of our needs. We also met the caretaker when we arrived, who was very friendly and helpful. The only reason that I didn't give this rental 5 stars is that it could use some updates such as fresh paint, new outdoor furniture, etc. Overall, we would rent here again!

Nothing but wonderful comments to write. They were all so welcoming to their & answered any & all questions I had. I wanted to spend the weekend with family over the weekend for our birthday and it was the perfect place. Next to a pool side with no one to bother. The neighbors are to themselves & the weather was perfect. The whole house is AC & it was comfortable and relaxing. Very much like a home for sure. It fits 5-6 cars on the lot. I would definitely re-rent this location again for sure.
