We were on Shelter Island for our son’s wedding weekend and we’re completely satisfied by the beauty of the home and the hospitality of our hosts! Couldn’t imagine a more enjoyable festive vacation!

This is a gorgeous extremely well-appointed home that comfortably accommodated 2 families of four. The hosts were gracious and communicative and I would definitely rent from them again.

I couldn’t say enough good things. We spent Thanksgiving with family at Aparna’s home. To begin, the communication was impeccable; check-in and checkout information, areas of interest in the general vicinity, available appliances etc. The bottle of wine as a welcome gift was an awesome addition. We will certainly be back to Shelter Island. I would highly recommend having Aparna as your host.

We had a family wedding on the island and it was wonderful spending family time in this beautiful home. Charming, homey, cozy and warm. The pictures don't do it justice. Highly recommended! We had a wonderful time staying here! The property itself is beautiful, was super clean, and had everything that we needed for our stay. Kevin and Aparna were very easy to contact and provided me with additional information about the area that proved extremely valuable. We can't say enough about our long weekend in Shelter Island and can't wait to return!

I really cannot say enough good things about this home or the owners Aparna and Kevin. The property is gorgeous and so well tended with beautiful flowers and landscaping. The pool is a nice size and heated so it is comfortable even when beach weather is not optimal. The house is great -- they have well stocked the kitchen and each bed is comfortable and everything is in good, clean condition. They also provide everything needed for the beach trips -- chairs, umbrellas, bikes, even a beach cart. Aparna and Kevin were wonderful to communicate with and very organized in sharing information about the island and the house. Plus they were available during the stay when needed. I cannot wait for our next stay!

I was looking for a special location to celebrate one daughter's college graduation and another's 25th birthday and I am so happy I discovered Shelter Island and "Sunshine House." We all fell in love with the island, and the lovely home. We enjoyed chocolate croissants every morning from the Marie Eiffel bakery, having the graduation dinner at the delicious Vine Street Cafe and a birthday dinner-seafood-extravaganza with abundant food supplies from the Shelter Island Seafood Market. Sunshine House was the perfect location, Aparna a gracious hostess, and we can't wait to take the 2 ferries and come back!

The house is spacious, nicely furnished and very clean. Our young children enjoyed themselves very much and we all felt very comfortable. We enjoyed walking to a nearby beach and otherwise drove short distances to other island destinations. Aparna is a very accommodating and thoughtful host. We would absolutely recommend this property and would happily return!

The house was clean and gorgeous. The owners went out of their way to make sure everything was clean, sanitized, and easy to figure out (e.g., where all the kitchen appliances were kept). We had such a wonderful, relaxing time just hanging out in the house and exploring the nearby preserve and beach. We hope to come back again soon!

Was very pleased with everything. House was as pictured, clean, private & had everything we needed. Homeowners were always available if I had a question or concern. Great property.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. The property is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac, which is great for privacy and kids. The house had everything that you would need to entertain. We actually ended up bringing our own kitchen supplies but it was unnecessary. The house was exactly as pictured on the website. Our favorite part was the pool. Aparna was responsive with questions and kept in contact in case we had any issues/needed anything.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the “Sunshine house”. The property is gorgeous and spacious. The home is large with all the amenities you could ever need for a relaxing and fun vacation. The beds and linens and bathrooms etc all perfect! The pool is amazing and nice and warm if you want it to be! Shelter island is a quaint Quiet little island, With a few bay beaches that were perfect for Our young children. Aparna is very pleasant and responsive to any and all needs. We highly recommend a stay at this property.

Great communication with the property owner, responded promptly to any question I had. House was clean and tidy upon arrival. Having the bedroom downstairs was great for my parents. The set up as a whole was nice, it felt like you had privacy and werent on top of eachother. We stayed for a wedding and having a whole house made it much more comfortable. They have plenty of things to keep you busy(games, bikes etc..) and they fire pit was perfect on a fall night. We had brought our own firewood too but didnt need a ton. Would definetly recommend for a family with kids. Master suite was even bigger than the pictures made it seem. Property owner left us alone too - I had a previous experience where the owner was on the premise and made me a little uncomfortable. I would definetly recommend this location and would rent again.

3 generations of our family had a fantastic week on Aparna's rental. The house was immaculately clean (and I am picky!) and very well appointed (we cooked nearly 3 meals a way and the kitchen had everything we needed). The property was spacious, with plenty of space for the kids to run around, fly kites, play soccer, and even make smores in the fire pit. And it goes without saying the pool was delightful. Aparna was very responsive when we had questions. A perfect end to summer!

This house was just perfect for our family vacation with friends. Clean, spacious and well appointed with everything you need to be comfortable! Great hosts as well, thank you Aparna and Kevin!

The pictures don’t do this justice. The home is gorgeous, a real home, which is so unusual with rentals. There isn’t anything bad to say about the home, you can’t have a bad time here. The pool is amazing, the yard was a dream for my two big kids and small baby, the school (with two great playgrounds, a baseball diamond, tennis courts and a track) is a 5-10 minute walk away, as well as the town hall to pick up your beach pass. An amazing escape from the crazy city life.

My family enjoyed an extended spring weekend at the house. The house is centrally located on the island making it easy to walk to where we wanted to go. The hosts are extremely hospitable and have their guests in mind for everything they offer. We found the space to be very kid friendly. I would definitely return for a visit.

We spent a lovely long winter weekend at Aparna's home with two families (4 adults and 4 kids). The house was comfortable with plenty of space for everyone and well equipped for us to cook and hang out. Aparna was very helpful with tips about the island and good communication before and after our visit. We'd love to come back in the summer!
